YANNI - For All Seasons. By 3ytel YANNI - For All Seasons. Yanni Chrysomallis, músico, autor, intérprete y compositor griego nacido en Kalamata el 14 de Noviembre de 1954. Yanni se inicio en la música desde niño, a temprana edad dominaba el piano sin siquiera haber recibido lecciones. En su tiempo libre interpretaba canciones del momento. A los 18 años, se estableció en los Estados Unidos para luego dar a conocer su nuevo sistema de notación musical. En su juventud fue un buen nadador y llegó a romper un record nacional en Grecia. También desempeñó trabajos en su otra gran pasión, la Psicología y se graduó de la misma en La Universidad de Minnesota. Su música, de carácter instrumental y melódica es de tipo orquestal. Sus temas se han utilizado como bandas sonoras para el cine, la televisión, torneos, el teatro y los juegos olímpicos. Su mayor éxito comercial se produjo con la presentación de su álbum y vídeo, "Yanni Live at the Acrópolis", filmado el 25 de septiembre de 1993 en La Acrópolis de Atenas, específicamente en el Teatro de Herodes Atticus, con 2.000 años de antigüedad. El concierto, situado en un entorno arquitectónico protegido por las entidades culturales de este patrimonio milenario, fue autorizado de forma extraordinaria y exclusiva, debido a las implicaciones del sonido, por las autoridades griegas. Este fue su primer álbum en directo y utilizó una magnífica y compleja orquesta, comprendida por algunos de los mejores músicos del mundo, el concierto fue espectacular y esto queda plasmado en las palabras dichas por Shardad Rohani quien superviso el evento y expreso: esta es la mas mágica interpretación jamás escuchada. Posteriormente, el concierto fue retransmitido en Estados Unidos en el Public Broadcasting Service, y rápidamente llegó a ser uno de sus programas de mayor popularidad. Se ha mantenido constante en los ratios mundiales desde su presentación y es el segundo vídeo de mayor éxito de ventas musicales de todos los tiempos. Se llegaron a vender a nivel mundial, más de 10 millones de copias. Composiciones como "One man´s dream" o "Until the last moment" son versiones mejoradas de anteriores producciones. Estas composiciones, junto a piezas recientes como "If I could tell you", han situado al autor entre uno de los principales productores musicales del siglo XX y XXI. Su producción lo sitúa en el marco de los grandes compositores musicales de todos los tiempos. Con motivo del quincuagésimo aniversario de la República Popular China, fue el primer músico que actuó en la Ciudad Prohibida. Este concierto está recogido en el álbum Tribute junto a las interpretaciones en el Taj Mahal de la India construido en el siglo XVII, por cierto es el único artista que ha tocado en una de las siete maravillas del mundo, claro está, hablando del Taj Mahal. El concierto refleja la madurez de su experiencia interpretativa, acompañado nuevamente por algunos de los mas destacados músicos a nivel mundial; al igual que el álbum del concierto de La Acrópolis, este álbum fue sumamente galardonado con multitud de reconocimientos a nivel mundial y es uno de los mas cargados de energía. Pocos compositores utilizan en sus conciertos una instrumentación tan variada, compleja y completa. Tiempo después grabó su duodécima producción, en el 2000, con el nombre de If I Could Tell You, volviendo a cautivar a su público con nuevos ritmos, influido por su última gira realizada por Asia Oriental, resaltando composiciones como "On Sacred Ground", "Wishing Well" With An Orchid y "If I Could Tell You". En el pasado 2003 Yanni reapareció con su último y primer álbum de estilo lírico, llamado Ethnicity, con nuevos ritmos. Éste es su disco más variado en cuestión de cultura musical, ya que incluye instrumentos casi desconocidos y de estilo único, como el didgeridoo. Según sus managers y por su propios comentarios, tiene pensado realizar un concierto especial y solemne en las pirámides de Teotihuacán, en México; está a la espera de la aprobación y concesión por las autoridades del país. Tras pasar casi 8 años sin sacar a la venta un CD en directo, Yanni regresó en Otoño de 2006 con la presentación de una nueva producción grabada en directo dentro de su última gira de 2004, en Las Vegas. El 15 de agosto de 2006 presentó una nueva producción, "Yanni Live The Concert Event", y después en septiembre un DVD.
