O Yad Vashem, museu e arquivo do Holocausto em Jerusalém, recorda todos aqueles homens e mulheres que resgataram da morte tantos judeus e os honra com o titulo de Justos de Israel.Para a comunidade judaica de Roma, o dia 16 de outubro de 1943 foi um dia especialmente doloroso. Mais de mil judeus romanos foram deportados. Em toda a Europa se repetiam operações semelhantes.As autoridades alemãs haviam prometido respeitá-los em troca da entrega de 50 quilos de ouro. Num grande gesto de solidariedade, toda a cidade colaborou para obter a quantidade necessária.Mas a promessa de segurança não foi mantida e os judeus foram obrigados a se esconder para tentar escapar de uma morte certa. [View \| Download]	Pio XII e os judeus By h2onewspt Nas trevas de uma Europa dominada pelo Nazismo, foram muitos aqueles que colocaram em perigo a sua vida e das suas famílias para salvar os judeus perseguidos e discriminados pelas leis raciais estabelecidas pelo regime de Hitler. O Yad Vashem, museu e arquivo do Holocausto em Jerusalém, recorda todos aqueles homens e mulheres que resgataram da morte tantos judeus e os honra com o titulo de Justos de Israel.Para a comunidade judaica de Roma, o dia 16 de outubro de 1943 foi um dia especialmente doloroso. Mais de mil judeus romanos foram deportados. Em toda a Europa se repetiam operações semelhantes.As autoridades alemãs haviam prometido respeitá-los em troca da entrega de 50 quilos de ouro. Num grande gesto de solidariedade, toda a cidade colaborou para obter a quantidade necessária.Mas a promessa de segurança não foi mantida e os judeus foram obrigados a se esconder para tentar escapar de uma morte certa. A ação do Papa Pio XII foi fundamental naqueles momentos difíceis.Ajudar os judeus significava colocar-se em um grave e real perigo.Todos os documentos que tínhamos as carteiras de identidade tinham escrito na capa: raça judia.Tínhamos perdido todos os direitos civis. Não podíamos fazer nada. Não tínhamos nem mesmo cartões para a alimentação. Com base em todas essas leis, que não nos permitiam fazer nada, eu fui expulso da escola. Foi expulso o diretor daquela escola, porque era judeu, quem trabalhava em banco, cartorário, advogado, médico... O médico só podia cuidar dos judeus.São pessoas que responderam a um chamado da sua consciência.Agiram para salvar os judeus, em um momento no qual não se sabia qual seria o êxito da guerra, e, portanto como um ato totalmente desinteressado.O dia 16 de outubro teve uma manhã tremenda. Vejo ainda hoje aquela cena. Levam todos embora de caminhão, foi um grande arrastão, entravam nas casas e levavam embora toda a família: mulheres, anciãos, crianças e doentes. Pedem 50 quilos de ouro à comunidade judaica. Porém era impossível reunir 50 quilos de ouro nas poucas horas que tínhamos. Sem fazer propaganda com ninguém, a cidade de Roma colaborou em todos os modos que pode: com dentes de ouro porque antigamente se usava dentes de ouro com um anel, com aquilo que tinham... Foram recolhidos 50 quilos de ouro.Os documentos dos serviços secretos norte-americanos nos dizem também o motivo pelo qual Hitler odiava o Papa: porque estava escondendo os judeus. Pois dava ordens aos conventos, aos santuários e escondendo-os também no Vaticano. Aqui em Roma abriram as portas todos os conventos.O Vaticano estava cheio. Tinha gente que dormia até nos corredores.Este sou eu. Eu sou Claudio Della Sera, nasci no dia 31 de julho de 1931, sou de religião hebraica. Fui salvado no tempo dos alemães pelos Frades Maristas dos Colégio de São Leão Magno. Nos conventos estávamos tranqüilos. A ajuda que nós recebemos judeus italianos ou estrangeiros que estávamos aqui, foi excepcional. Em Assis tínhamos quase 6.000-7.000 refugiados de guerra da Itália meridional. Entre esses refugiados foi fácil esconder algumas centenas de judeus.Muitas vidas foram salvas. No dia 15 de maio de 45 fui preso. Encontrei a polícia na minha porta.Os alemães entraram dentro e deportaram deste convento 33 mulheres, entre as quais também a minha mãe. Entende? A Madre Superiora Irmã Sor Ester Busnelli foi presa porque fez algo que não devia fazer. Levaram-me para um campo de concentração em Perugia.É preciso entender o perigo que existia.
