Muchas vidas se han perdido por culpa de esta doctrina inmoral y errónea de la Watchtower Society. Antaño afirmaban que las vacunas eran obra del diablo (En "The Golden Age", 12 de octubre de 1921, pág. 17), mientras los máximos dirigientes se vacunaban para sus viajes de captación de masas. Incluso afirmaron que los transplantes de órganos eran una forma de canibalismo (Revista "Atalaya" 15 de abril de 1968). También dijeron que el aluminio era dañino y que nunca deberíamos cocinar con menaje de cocna hecho de ese material (Revista "Despertad" del 8 de Septiembre de 1937, pág.773). Todo se basa en el mismo método erróneo de entendimiento y del mal uso del sentido común. En primer lugar, cabe señalar que todo tipo de transfusiones deberían ser únicamente en casos extremos. Sin embargo, estos casos se dan cuando no hay otra opción mejor DISPONIBLE, ahí donde puede alcanzar el enfermo a llegar. La propia Watchtower reconoce: "Cada vez que se menciona la prohibición de sangre en la Biblia se hace con relación a ingerirla como comida" (Atalaya (edición en inglés) 9/15/58, p. 575) Los eruditos muestran que en Hechos 15:1,2 Pablo se enfada poque algunos quisieron imponer la Ley de Moisés: " hombres de la región de Judea (..) enseñaban a los seguidores de Jesús que debían circuncidarse porque así lo ordenaba la ley de Moisés, y que si no lo hacían, Dios no los salvaría. Pablo y Bernabé no estaban de acuerdo con eso, y discutieron con ellos", compara con Gal. 5:3 "Os lo repito muy seriamente: quien se hace circuncidar, debe cumplir la ley de Moisés ENTERA." (AF). En segundo lugar, El criterio del paso de un componente a través de la barrera placentaria podría ser subjetivo, ya que es muy frecuente que los glóbulos rojos del feto pasen a la circulación materna (así es como se produce la isoinmunización Rh o sensibilización feto-materna). La ciencia médica ha demostrado que casi todos los componentes sanguíneos pasan a través de la barrera de la placenta que protege al feto, entonces ¿por qué prohibirlos? (1996) S73-S77. Y por último, la fórmula que el apóstol Pablo para la Santa Cena incluye de forma simbólica el beber la sangre de Cristo. Es evidente que Jesús nunca usaría simbólicamente en un mandato algo prohibido por Dios mismo, ¿Cierto? ¿Sabías que la sangre completa pasa de la madre al feto por el cordón umbilical hasta que nace? La Watchtower dice que no pasa toda la sangre pero la Universidad de Virgnia, en su investigación sobre las "células madre", ha comprobado que pasa absolutamente toda la sangre, es una enorme transfusión sanguinea durente 9 meses. Aprovecho para mostrar una parte de su literatura que es muy preocupante: "Un médico se preparaba para administrar una transfusión de sangre forzosa a una nenita recién nacida. La madre, la Sra. Lynn DeWaal, testigo de Jehová, suplicó al médico que usara un tratamiento alternativo. Firmemente, él rehusó. Valerosamente, la madre, con la ayuda de su familia, sacó a la nena del hospital, aunque dos doctores trataron de detenerlos a la fuerza" (Revista Despertad 22/2/71 pág. 12, Publicación de los Testigos de Jehová) Noten que se asigna la palabra "Valerosamente" a la madre que rehusó el tratamiento de urgencia para salvar la vida a su hija. Lo que es un acto irresponsable e indignante en la madre, la Watchtower lo ensalza y aplaude. El porcentaje de muertes por causa de recibir sangre es muchisimo menor, infimo, comparado con la gran cantidad de viodas que se salva. ¿Donde te han dicho eso? Por citarte sólo un país, en Estados Unidos sólo tienen problemas al recibir una transfusión el 3%, de los cuales sólo alguno llega a morir (McCullough J. The nation's changing blood supply system. JAMA 1993; 269: 2239-45) Los cristianos no se abstenían de animales sacrificados a los ídolos, los cuales no eran desangrados cuando el sacrificio era por dar gracias o adoracion a los ídolos. - "tengan cuidado de que su LIBERTAD no se convierta en motivo de tropiezo para los débiles. Porque si alguien de conciencia DÉBIL te ve a ti, que tienes este conocimiento, comer de un ídolo en el templo, ¿no se sentirá animado a comer lo que ha sido sacrificado a los ídolos? Entonces ese hermano DÉBIL, por quien Cristo murió, se perderá a causa de TU CONOCIMIENTO."
