It records Voyager 1's approach during a period of over 60 Jupiter days. Notice the difference in speed and direction of the various zones of the atmosphere. The interaction of the atmospheric clouds and storms shows how dynamic the Jovian atmosphere is. As Voyager 1 approached Jupiter in 1979, it took images of the planet at regular intervals. This sequence is made from 66 images taken once every Jupiter rotation period (about 10 hours). This time-lapse movie uses images taken every time Jupiter longitude 68W passed under the spacecraft. These images were acquired in the Blue filter from Jan. 6 to Feb. 3 1979. The spacecraft flew from 58 million kilometers to 31 million kilometers from Jupiter during that time. Weighing only 800 kgs each, they collected a wealth of scientific data and thousands of photographs of the four giant planets in our Solar System. After visiting Jupiter and Saturn, Voyager 1's trajectory left the ecliptic plane in order to photograph Saturn's moon Titan. This meant that Voyager 1 would not visit any other planets. However, Voyager 2 continued on to visit Uranus and Neptune. Still today, Voyager 2 is the only spacecraft to have visited these two "ice giants" and their moons. Edit: Okay here some explanations on the subtext: Quoting Wikipedia: In the episode titled "The Killing Game, Part I" the crew thinks it is living in Nazi-occupied France and Captain Janeway becomes the owner of a nightclub where it is implied, but again never developed, that she is romantically involved with Seven of Nine. More explanation from myself: It was woven in in a brilliant subtle way...as is generally known (or not) Janeway was "Humphrey Bogart" in this episode, and Seven was the "Lauren Bacall" type. Not just the dresses suggest that. Killing Game plays in 1944. Exactly in that year Bogart and Bacall met and fell in love. And Bacall got famous overnight with one percormance. That's only a parallel of many. Now let's get to the intro in which Seven sings "It can't be wrong" from Dick Haymes (here the lyrics): "Wrong, would it be wrong to kiss, (closeup on Seven - would it be WRONG to kiss?) Reed notou que, completando a figura e traçando raios nos sulcos do círculo, se obtinha uma figura geométrica que fornecia, através de relações entre seus ângulos e dimensões, o valor 3,141592654, que é justamente o conjunto dos primeiros algarismos do número Pi. Para um cientista habilitado em matemática, foi fácil notar que havia uma mensagem muito mais complexa do que se imaginava, e o que o desenho escondia em sua beleza. A figura encontrada em 08 de agosto, em Alton Barnes, também tem uma explicação matemática. Inicialmente, acreditou-se que seria uma representação das fases lunares, iniciando-se na data de sua descoberta e encerrando-se no dia 16 do mesmo mês, quando houve um eclipse lunar. A figura mostra, no formato do número oito, esferas representando a Lua cheia e a nova, tal como se pensou de um agroglífo descoberto na Coréia do Sul, em 12 de junho deste ano, que ainda agrega a posição de outros corpos do Sistema Solar. Novos estudos indicam que a imagem é também igualmente mais complexa e pode ser uma mensagem de algo grande que se aproxima do Sistema Solar e cogita-se numa interpretação do agroglífo à luz do Calendário Maia. Seja como for,uma coisa as imagens têm em comum: a capacidade de nos surpreender. Edit: Okay here some explanations on the subtext: Quoting Wikipedia: In the episode titled "The Killing Game, Part I" the crew thinks it is living in Nazi-occupied France and Captain Janeway becomes the owner of a nightclub where it is implied, but again never developed, that she is romantically involved with Seven of Nine. More explanation from myself: It was woven in in a brilliant subtle way...as is generally known (or not) Janeway was "Humphrey Bogart" in this episode, and Seven was the "Lauren Bacall" type. Not just the dresses suggest that. Killing Game plays in 1944. Exactly in that year Bogart and Bacall met and fell in love. And Bacall got famous overnight with one percormance. That's only a parallel of many. Now let's get to the intro in which Seven sings "It can't be wrong" from Dick Haymes (here the lyrics): "Wrong, would it be wrong to kiss, (closeup on Seven - would it be WRONG to kiss?)
