Mobb Deep is an American hip hop duo that consists of Havoc and Prodigy. The group is perhaps best known for their dark, hardcore delivery as shown on the single "Shook Ones Pt. II." Although the group has not seen as much commercial success as some of their peers, the majority of its albums have met with critical acclaim, in particular The Infamous, which is considered an East Coast classic. Prodigy, Havoc, Killa Black (Havoc's older brother), Big Noyd, The Twins (Gambino and Scarface), Ty Nitty, Godfather Pt. III, Ty Maxx, Gotti, Money No, Karate Joe, Stovo, and Littles all grew up together. Havoc & Prodigy started rhyming in the late 1980s when the duo met at the High School of Art and Design in New York City. Havoc took the role of producer and secondary MC, while Prodigy assumed the position of primary M.C. Originally dubbing themselves the Poetical Profits, the duo later changed its name to Mobb Deep in order to "reflect their reputation on the streets." In the groups early career, it released the single "Cop Hell." While members of the clique were only 17, the released its debut album Juvenile Hell, which was led by the single "Peer Pressure." The album sold very poorly and was met with harsh reviews that wrote the duo off as just another hardcore group with little to distinguish them from the rest of the hip-hop world—especially with the group Illegal—despite production by DJ Premier and Large Professor. However, a few songs from Juvenile Hell gained a little recognition, such as "Hit It from the Back," "Locked in Spofford," and "Me and My Crew." Also in 1993, Havoc had a guest appearance in the critically acclaimed Black Moon album Enta Da Stage, on a song called "U Da Man." Smooth were an influential rap group from Mount Vernon, New York. They made their debut in the rap world with their 1991 EP, All Souled Out. It sold moderately well enough to justify Elektra Records clearing the way for 1992's Mecca and the Soul Brother LP. As a producer, DJ Pete Rock (Peter Phillips) tended to prefer obscure soul and jazz sides for sample sources, frequently making use of horn-driven hooks. Lead vocalist CL Smooth (Corey Penn) tended to be philosophical in his raps, and he mostly avoided profanity. Their signature hit was They Reminisce Over You (T.R.O.Y.), a dirge for fallen friends--namely Troy "Trouble T-Roy" Dixon, a member of Heavy D & The Boyz, who died in 1990. 1994's The Main Ingredient was the follow up, and they appeared on a string of guest appearances for remixes, soundtracks, and other works. Public Enemy, EPMD, Heavy D and Johnny Gill were among the artists they collaborated with, and they can also claim credit for producing (and performing on) Run-DMCs 1993 comeback single 'Down with the King'. Despite all this, the duo failed to go gold on any of their own releases. Separating in 1995 (shortly after a well-received Sprite TV commercial), they eventually reunited on a handful of cuts from Pete Rocks solo recordings: Soul Survivor (1998), PeteStrumentals (2001) and Soul Survivor II (2004). They also went on a brief reunion tour as a warm up for their then-anticipated new album, which ended with a show at London's famous Jazz Cafe. Despite these intermittent collaborations, the pair has exchanged dismissive comments toward each other in separate interviews, disavowing plans for a full-fledged reunion. Segundo vem depois a constar, a III Guerra Mundial foi (supostamente) iniciada pelo crescimento incontrolável de poderes sobrenaturais de uma criança chamada Akira, que foi registrado num programa governamental secreto de pesquisa. No tempo real do enredo, 30 anos depois da III Guerra Mundial, uma gang de motoqueiros liderados por Kaneda é envolvido numa luta com a gang rival, quando o membro mais novo do gang de Kaneda, Tetsuo, colide numa auto-estrada com uma criança misteriosa que havia escapado do programa de investigação psíquica secreta do governo. Tetsuo é depois levado pelos responsáveis deste programa governamental juntamente com a criança, e é sujeito às mais diversas experiências. O incidente com a criança misteriosa bem como os testes realizados acordaram os poderes latentes de Tetsuo, com desastrosas consequências tanto a nível pessoal, bem como conflitos interpessoais com os seus amigos, e a nível mais amplo, uma vez que Neo-Tóquio é novamente ameaçada por outro incidente. Akira, gira em torno da ideia básica de indivíduos com poderes sobre-humanos, em particular as capacidades psicocinéticas, mas grande parte da história não se concentra apenas nestas capacidades, mas sobretudo nas pessoas envolvidas, problemas sociais e políticos. O comentário social não é particularmente profundo ou filosófico, mas sobretudo um olhar crítico sobre a alienação da juventude, a ineficiência e corrupção do governo, e um sistema militarizado, desagradado com os compromissos da sociedade moderna. No manga, Akira é um personagem que surge apenas no segundo volume, enquanto que no filme, Akira foi dissecado para pesquisa e os seus restos mortais permanecem armazenados em crioconservação por baixo do Estádio Olímpico de Tóquio. Esta mudança tem um efeito dramático sobre a história. No manga, Akira e Tetsuo aliam-se e depois Akira destrói Neo-Tóquio. O manga tem muitas diferenças em relação ao filme, mas o resultado é o mesmo em ambos. Mobb Deep is an American hip hop duo that consists of Havoc and Prodigy. The group is perhaps best known for their dark, hardcore delivery as shown on the single "Shook Ones Pt. II." Although the group has not seen as much commercial success as some of their peers, the majority of its albums have met with critical acclaim, in particular The Infamous, which is considered an East Coast classic. Prodigy, Havoc, Killa Black (Havoc's older brother), Big Noyd, The Twins (Gambino and Scarface), Ty Nitty, Godfather Pt. III, Ty Maxx, Gotti, Money No, Karate Joe, Stovo, and Littles all grew up together. Havoc & Prodigy started rhyming in the late 1980s when the duo met at the High School of Art and Design in New York City. Havoc took the role of producer and secondary MC, while Prodigy assumed the position of primary M.C. Originally dubbing themselves the Poetical Profits, the duo later changed its name to Mobb Deep in order to "reflect their reputation on the streets." In the groups early career, it released the single "Cop Hell." While members of the clique were only 17, the released its debut album Juvenile Hell, which was led by the single "Peer Pressure." The album sold very poorly and was met with harsh reviews that wrote the duo off as just another hardcore group with little to distinguish them from the rest of the hip-hop world—especially with the group Illegal—despite production by DJ Premier and Large Professor. However, a few songs from Juvenile Hell gained a little recognition, such as "Hit It from the Back," "Locked in Spofford," and "Me and My Crew." Also in 1993, Havoc had a guest appearance in the critically acclaimed Black Moon album Enta Da Stage, on a song called "U Da Man." Smooth were an influential rap group from Mount Vernon, New York. They made their debut in the rap world with their 1991 EP, All Souled Out. It sold moderately well enough to justify Elektra Records clearing the way for 1992's Mecca and the Soul Brother LP. As a producer, DJ Pete Rock (Peter Phillips) tended to prefer obscure soul and jazz sides for sample sources, frequently making use of horn-driven hooks. Lead vocalist CL Smooth (Corey Penn) tended to be philosophical in his raps, and he mostly avoided profanity. Their signature hit was They Reminisce Over You (T.R.O.Y.), a dirge for fallen friends--namely Troy "Trouble T-Roy" Dixon, a member of Heavy D & The Boyz, who died in 1990. 1994's The Main Ingredient was the follow up, and they appeared on a string of guest appearances for remixes, soundtracks, and other works. Public Enemy, EPMD, Heavy D and Johnny Gill were among the artists they collaborated with, and they can also claim credit for producing (and performing on) Run-DMCs 1993 comeback single 'Down with the King'. Despite all this, the duo failed to go gold on any of their own releases. Separating in 1995 (shortly after a well-received Sprite TV commercial), they eventually reunited on a handful of cuts from Pete Rocks solo recordings: Soul Survivor (1998), PeteStrumentals (2001) and Soul Survivor II (2004). They also went on a brief reunion tour as a warm up for their then-anticipated new album, which ended with a show at London's famous Jazz Cafe. Despite these intermittent collaborations, the pair has exchanged dismissive comments toward each other in separate interviews, disavowing plans for a full-fledged reunion. Segundo vem depois a constar, a III Guerra Mundial foi (supostamente) iniciada pelo crescimento incontrolável de poderes sobrenaturais de uma criança chamada Akira, que foi registrado num programa governamental secreto de pesquisa. No tempo real do enredo, 30 anos depois da III Guerra Mundial, uma gang de motoqueiros liderados por Kaneda é envolvido numa luta com a gang rival, quando o membro mais novo do gang de Kaneda, Tetsuo, colide numa auto-estrada com uma criança misteriosa que havia escapado do programa de investigação psíquica secreta do governo. Tetsuo é depois levado pelos responsáveis deste programa governamental juntamente com a criança, e é sujeito às mais diversas experiências. O incidente com a criança misteriosa bem como os testes realizados acordaram os poderes latentes de Tetsuo, com desastrosas consequências tanto a nível pessoal, bem como conflitos interpessoais com os seus amigos, e a nível mais amplo, uma vez que Neo-Tóquio é novamente ameaçada por outro incidente. Akira, gira em torno da ideia básica de indivíduos com poderes sobre-humanos, em particular as capacidades psicocinéticas, mas grande parte da história não se concentra apenas nestas capacidades, mas sobretudo nas pessoas envolvidas, problemas sociais e políticos. O comentário social não é particularmente profundo ou filosófico, mas sobretudo um olhar crítico sobre a alienação da juventude, a ineficiência e corrupção do governo, e um sistema militarizado, desagradado com os compromissos da sociedade moderna. No manga, Akira é um personagem que surge apenas no segundo volume, enquanto que no filme, Akira foi dissecado para pesquisa e os seus restos mortais permanecem armazenados em crioconservação por baixo do Estádio Olímpico de Tóquio. Esta mudança tem um efeito dramático sobre a história. No manga, Akira e Tetsuo aliam-se e depois Akira destrói Neo-Tóquio. O manga tem muitas diferenças em relação ao filme, mas o resultado é o mesmo em ambos.
