The PSP was left in 3.71 M33, so I wanted to show how to get your PSP updated after Pandora hacking it. Still, you don't need to have done my ultimate easy pandora method to do this. This process has nothing to do with pandora, it's completely different, so no pandora memory stick or battery are needed. This update works for both slim and phats, and many other firmwares, not only from 3.71 M33 - though you must come from a cfw, and higher than 3.52-3 M33. What do I need? - You only need the 5.00 Sony firmware and the 5.00 m33-6 installer, your PSP and the newer ones CAN'T run the 1.5 kernel add-on, only the phat PSP can. More explanation in next question... 2.5) What's the 1.5 kernel thing? - It's a way that the PSP reads the applications. That's why if you put an application based on the 1.5 on a psp without that kernel, the PSP won't be able to read it. It's really optional to have it cause nowadays most applications are compatible with both 1.5 and 5.00 kernels. The reason why phat PSPs can have the 1.5 kernel and the other ones can't is because the phat PSP's original firmware was 1.5, so it kinda has it build up in it, while the others started at 3.10 or something. 3) Do I need anything related to pandora? battery, memory stick, wtvr? - NOooo! This has nothing to do with it 4) What is the difference between the Gen firmwares and the M33 firmwares? - The m33 firmwares were created by Dark_Alex, probably the best PSP hacker there is. His latest firmware is 5.00 m33-6, and it's kinda outdated by now. The Gen firmware is created by another hacker, and it has all the functionalities as the m33 firmwares and a little more. Still, the 5.50 Gen firmware doesn't come with the 1.50 kernel compatibility (for phat psps) 5) Do the latest games work here? - Yes, but for most you'll need to hack the game. [View \| Download]	Re: Broken N95 after the new firmware update in the U.S. Here is another video showing different aspects of the problem that I am currently encountering. Consider my first video showing problems of general usage, and this one of reboot and keypad lock. When you consider these 2 videos, you will understand that the phone is unusable in any phase --turning on the phone, finding a contact, calling someone, turning Bluetooth on/off, locking the keypad, even turning off the phone, since sometimes it doesn't turn off! 1) In the first reboot you will see that after entering my pin code an utter white screen pops up as a transition to the main screen. 2) Unlike the first reboot, in the second reboot you will see that, the "code error" prompt, after I enter a mistaken pin, and the "code accepted" prompt, after I enter the correct pin, moves slightly rightwards. In fact this has got nothing to do with entering a mistaken pin, since this happens many times regardless of the pin you enter. Sometimes the screen goes dark right after entering a pin code. Sometimes after entering a pin if I press the red hang up button instead of waiting for the introduction screen to elapse --two hands meet each other you know- the screen again goes dark. 3) In the very same second reboot you will also see that when I slide down the slider, instead of key pads are being locked, all the icons messes up! --they mix between each other and colors of them change! (I ensure you this is not a new theme of Nokia for your screen!) 4) You will also see that after sliding up and down the slider again, the keypad doesn't lock up. 5) After sliding up and pressing exit to omit the "new voice message" alert, the screen goes dark immediately! 6) Finally, after sliding up and down again, the keypad gets locked. However, as you will see, whenever the keypad gets locked, the dedicated gallery button flashes on and off 2 times. I am not 100% sure whether this was happening before with the older firmwares, but as far as I remember, it did not. I ensure you the things that you have just seen happen in every combination. It can be worse. Doing this adds a lot of functionality to the otherwise already good radio. The ER9x is one of several open source projects based on this AMTEL chipped radio and variants. One of the features I like very much is that you get 16 model slots. Every stick, pot and switch is programmable - even virtual switches if you would ever need one. The radio settings by itself is an eye opener - you get also to see the status of your ALL your control points and a brief but important snapshot on how your radio is doing. The logic behind the firmware takes some getting used to - but when you understand what it is doing, then it becomes easier to find out how to make the radio do what you need/want. The PSP was left in 3.71 M33, so I wanted to show how to get your PSP updated after Pandora hacking it. Still, you don't need to have done my ultimate easy pandora method to do this. This process has nothing to do with pandora, it's completely different, so no pandora memory stick or battery are needed. This update works for both slim and phats, and many other firmwares, not only from 3.71 M33 - though you must come from a cfw, and higher than 3.52-3 M33. [View \| Download]	Re: Broken N95 after the new firmware update in the U.S. Here is another video showing different aspects of the problem that I am currently encountering. Consider my first video showing problems of general usage, and this one of reboot and keypad lock. When you consider these 2 videos, you will understand that the phone is unusable in any phase --turning on the phone, finding a contact, calling someone, turning Bluetooth on/off, locking the keypad, even turning off the phone, since sometimes it doesn't turn off! 1) In the first reboot you will see that after entering my pin code an utter white screen pops up as a transition to the main screen. 2) Unlike the first reboot, in the second reboot you will see that, the "code error" prompt, after I enter a mistaken pin, and the "code accepted" prompt, after I enter the correct pin, moves slightly rightwards. In fact this has got nothing to do with entering a mistaken pin, since this happens many times regardless of the pin you enter. Sometimes the screen goes dark right after entering a pin code. Sometimes after entering a pin if I press the red hang up button instead of waiting for the introduction screen to elapse --two hands meet each other you know- the screen again goes dark. 3) In the very same second reboot you will also see that when I slide down the slider, instead of key pads are being locked, all the icons messes up! --they mix between each other and colors of them change! (I ensure you this is not a new theme of Nokia for your screen!) 4) You will also see that after sliding up and down the slider again, the keypad doesn't lock up. 5) After sliding up and pressing exit to omit the "new voice message" alert, the screen goes dark immediately! 6) Finally, after sliding up and down again, the keypad gets locked. However, as you will see, whenever the keypad gets locked, the dedicated gallery button flashes on and off 2 times. I am not 100% sure whether this was happening before with the older firmwares, but as far as I remember, it did not. I ensure you the things that you have just seen happen in every combination. It can be worse. Doing this adds a lot of functionality to the otherwise already good radio. The ER9x is one of several open source projects based on this AMTEL chipped radio and variants. One of the features I like very much is that you get 16 model slots. Every stick, pot and switch is programmable - even virtual switches if you would ever need one. The radio settings by itself is an eye opener - you get also to see the status of your ALL your control points and a brief but important snapshot on how your radio is doing. The logic behind the firmware takes some getting used to - but when you understand what it is doing, then it becomes easier to find out how to make the radio do what you need/want.
