It is her fourth studio album and was released in May-June 2006 on the Sony International Label. The album has been a success worldwide, selling over a million copies to date. The album won the 2006 Latin Grammy for Best Alternative Music Album and was nominated for album of the year as well as winning the Grammy for Best Latin Pop Album; it also contains Venegas' most successful song "Me Voy". Overall it is a very upbeat happy sounding album. The single "Limón y Sal" was released in August 2006. The single was not as successful on the charts as "Me Voy" although it is a very tuneful opus. The song was written by Julieta Venegas with Jorge Villamizar Iregui. The music video is a classic fairy tale in the mood of a beauty and the beast story. The album was Roxette's fifth studio album and was released by EMI on 9 April 1994. It was quite popular in Europe, reaching Gold or Platinum status in most European markets. The album was originally available in an ill-conceived truncated version named "Favorites From Crash! Boom! Bang!" in the U.S. as a marketing tool for the McDonald's chain of fast food restaurants, but later available as a full album import, as it is today. The single "Crash! Boom! Bang!" was written, as were most tracks on the album, by Per Gessle and was released on 9 May 1994; it was not a major hit on the charts, reaching #26 in the UK. The song is one of Marie Fredriksson's finest vocal performances. The music video, released at about the same time as the single is somewhat of an odd fit for the song, but very well done. Sarah Brightman - Il Mio Cuore Va (My Heart Will Go On) Live 320Kbps stereo HD upconverted 4:3 By SheerFolly "Il Mio Cuore Va" is Sarah Brightman's version of the theme song from the 1997 James Cameron film "Titanic", as included in her 1998 album "Eden" and performed on her 1999 world tour. Naturally, Sarah would not be content to simply record a standard run-of-the-mill cover of a song made so famous world-wide by singer Céline Dion, so she chose to record and perform it in Italian utilizing her superb pop/classical voice. Taken from her 1999 "One Night In Eden" world tour, this performance is from the inaugural concert in South Africa. Unlike her previous concerts, the 'Eden" tour featured a more elaborate stage production and allowed Sarah to showcase more of the theatrical background from her earlier days on the stage in productions like "The Phantom of The Opera" Subsequent concert tours would become even more theatrical and complex in nature. This concert is still my favorite Sarah concert, as is the "Eden" album. A very nice cover of a well heard, if not overheard, song. With Alison's voice backing you up, it has to be great and the band, including Jerry Douglas sounding fantastic as always, is up to the task. Shania sings well in this more personal atmosphere and the roughly hour-long program was released on DVD with some minor edits and extra bonus features. The Beatles - Love Me Do 1963 HD 1080p 320Kbps stereo upconverted 4:3 By SheerFolly "Love Me Do" from the Beatles first Parlophone album "Please Please Me", is presented here in a promotional video from 1963. In August of 1963 the Beatles together with BBC documentary specialist Don Haworth produced a 30 minute documentary entitled "The Mersey Sound". Three songs were performed; "Twist and Shout", "She Loves You" and "Love Me Do". The recordings were made in an empty theater, with a screaming audience edited in later for broadcast in the UK. The film also included interviews, some backstage photos ( some of which are included in this clip ) and assorted vignettes of the band around Liverpool. The "She Loves You" performance was licensed to the Jack Paar Show in the US where it was the very first Beatles US TV show appearance on 3 January 1964. This is actually one of my favorite Beatles songs, as is the entire "Please Please Me" album as it shows the band at it's rawest early stages. The entire album was finished in one day in essentially one take, due to the fact that John's voice just couldn't hold up for very long; a fact which is very evident in "Twist and Shout", the album session's final cut. Ace of Base - The Sign Video 320Kbps stereo HD upconverted to16:9 widescreen By SheerFolly "The Sign" by the techno/reggea inspired Swedish pop band Ace Of Base is from their 1993/94 album "Happy Nation" or "The Sign" depending on which side of the Atlantic Ocean one is on. It was the band's second American single, after 1993's "All That She Wants" which hit #2 on Billboard. "The Sign" spent six weeks at #1 becoming the best selling single of 1994. The song peaked at #2 in the UK and Sweden and #1 in Germany. It lists at #51 on "Billboards All Tme Top 100". "The Sign" single is certified platinum and the album double platinum. The band is still touring in 2009 and has plans for a new album. However, Linn Berggren left the group in 2007, leaving sister Jenny, brother Jonas and Ulf Ekberg as the remaining members.
