Werner Günthör (né le 11 juillet 1961 à Uttwil) est un lanceur de poids suisse qui fut triple champion du monde de la discipline (1987, 1991, 1993). En 1987, il établit le record du monde en salle avec un lancer à 22,26 mètres. Le 23 août 1988 à Berne, il lance le poids à 22.75 mètres, soit la 5e performance mondiale de tous les temps. Son entraineur était Jean-Pierre Egger, lui-même un spécialiste renommé dans cette discipline. TOM HILLS DOJO - Goju Karate - Kururunfa Kata Bunkai fighting applications Tom demonstrates Kururunfa Kata Bunkai fighting applications during a normal class. Assistants: Simon Tasker, Andrew Burgess, Mike Paget, Andrew Pestaille, Mike Saunders. Kururunfa is an advanced Kata brought back from China one of the original Kata taught by Ryu Ru Ko in Fuzchou in the Fukien Province of China and taught to Kanryo Higaonna and then on to Chojun Miyagi creator of Goju ryu. The original creator of this Kata is unknown. The evasive manoeuvres include Tai Subaki (shifting the body or Ultimate body evasion) and are quick, followed by slower stronger movements (Yang - hard followed by Yin -- soft and typical Goju). Its close combat, hooking blocks and grappling (Tugumi) manoeuvres are similar to other advanced Na ha te Kata such as Seisan and Sepai. The Kanji when translated could mean any of the following: Seventeen Holding your ground, Ku (long), ru (hold), run (sudden), fa (break) Forever stops Peaceful & tearing (tearing & shatter share the same Kanji as in Sai fa). Interpretation of the Kanji for this Kata: 1st kanji: 'a long length of time'. 2nd kanji: 'to remain or stay' 'behind or detain but in a good way', 3rd kanji: 'Suddenly' or abruptly. 4th kanji: 'tearing or shatter as in Sai fa' Tom Hill is the Chief Instructor of Goju.co.uk. Tom is 60 years old in 2011 and has been training 38 years. This is one of many clips on the Channel. The club has been established over 34 years.
