I got my audio working, just was heading off to church and didn't want to reveal what I was doing, is the truth. It's hated that in the last minute I am doing something, so rather than give off that scent, I decided to keep things quiet. I'll do an audio based tutorial on blender at some point. I'm remembering more about blender that I had forgotten, like how to set parameters on clips and things like how to use render layers and such. The opening animation to this will probably be what I will start with. The warning message is a mesh made from some text object, with a set of lights both with RGB ipo curves (animation curves) and an energy curve for the light.. I spent most of the time trying to sync up these.. I've thought why blender doesn't easily permit people to associate one curve with multiple objects and use math to modify the value.. It's probably possible with python, I just don't know enough.. But I had recalled that I could copy curves from one attribute to another using some special icons.. Anyway the animation of the text is reuseable, the text is curve based (converted from a text object), but the animation is mostly just translation (moving, no rotation or scale) and two lattice objects, one is linked to the other by the object data, only scaled nagitvely, so I only need to animate one's object data.. They are animated with basic vertex keying but probably should have used relative vertex keying (??). I first animated the text then parented the text to the lattices.. Then perfected the timing.. Not perfect enough but suitable.. AS for this tutorial.. I just introduce you to a bit of command line Linux.. And reveal some key ideas about why Unix/Linux is the way it is.. Best thing to do is google for "Linux Commands" or "Linux Terminal" or "Linux Shell".. Also all Unix like operating systems including Linux offer support for man pages. They predate pdf manuals and though software is distributed without the manuals usually, you can download them with Ubuntu's package manager, which will automatically install them. To find out how to get man pages, check the video. First part of a man page is the usage, followed by options (always preceded by hyphens), then a more elaborate description of the command is given below, with related commands at the very bottom. Man pages need not only be about commands, but cover things like how to compile programs, how to use programs, and whatever seems useful to those that maintain the software. One command I didn't mention in the tutorial is the "which" command, which tells you the path to the command from the root folder.. Like "which man" will reveal the location of the "man" commands program file. Some commands like "ls" may not have a command, but be associated with the shell. A shell is a program that intercedes between you and the operating system, when you enter in commands, the shell determines if the commands are local to it or located in the machine, it also sets up relationships like data piping and handles tab completion and such.
