Skyscrapers 2009 - The World's Tallest Buildings Skyscrapers 摩天大廈 2009 - The World's Tallest Buildings 世界最高的大樓 Cramped into 10 minutes, i present you an update of my Skyscraper video. A lot has changed in the skyscraper world since April. New stats, new construction photos, and a recession, delaying several projects. I put quite a bit of effort into eliminating the moire patterns from the 2008 video, the overall image quality greatly improved. However, due to the larger format of my composition (960x720), i couldn't always take the "best" photos, since many come in very small resolution. If i ever make an update, it'll have to be a two-part video, unless YouTube changes their policies. So this better stay accurate for a very long time :P I didn't attempt to include Nakheel Tower and the various Korean supertall projects, as their construction is unpredictably far in the future (~2020), and i didn't have any room left anyway, hah. The Wildest Dream: Conquest of Everest Accompany present-day adventurer Conrad Anker as he recreates the 1924 ascent of George Mallory to the top of Mount Everest to solve a 75-year old mystery. The Tallest Building in the World - Burj Dubai! / Burj Khalifa Middle East I went to the Burj Dubai (now known as the Burj Khalifa) and filmed the construction and then again six months later. The Burj Dubai tower is designed to be the centerpiece of a large-scale, mixed-use development that will include 30,000 homes, nine hotels, 6 acres of parkland, 19+ residential towers, the Dubai Mall, and a large man-made lake. The complete 500 acre development will cost about $20 billion dollars (US). Once completed, the tower will cover a total of over 22 million square feet of development. The official height of the Burj Dubai is kept secret because of international competition, but current estimates have it rising to a height in excess of 2,600 feet. Some estimate that it will be 189 floors or so - it is to be the tallest building in the world. Recently, the construction site already surpassed height needed to make it (uncompeted) the second tallest building in the world. The Burj Dubai is located in Dubai which is a city in the emirate of Dubai, part of the United arab Emirates in the Gulf region of the Middle East.
