I never thought about coding my own cdr plugin, because my cdrom/dvd drives were always nicely supported by the already existing cdr plugins. Well, 'til last week I've used my Pioneer 305 scsi dvd drive for playing psx games, but I've noticed that it has sometimes troubles with some psx game cds, causing big pauses while streaming special data (for example in the Alundra2 opening scene). So when I had the chance to get a new and cheap Teac 532S (scsi cdrom drive), I couldn't resist. My girlfriend's pc has the same drive, and I've never heard my gf telling anything bad about it... Well, I put the drive into my pc, and it was acting nicely... until I tried to start epsxe with the internal epsxe cdr plugin... it didn't work at all (it does work fine with the Pioneer drive!). I did know my gf was using the internal epsxe plugin as well, so I looked at the config at her pc... surprise, surprise... she never had any troubles with the teac drive because she converted the few games she wanted to play into iso files... pfff ;) Oki, calb was nice enuff to give me some ASPI test funcs, so I could check out what's wrong... first it seemed that the drive can only read 2048 bytes per sector, and that some custom teac scsi command has to be used to read the full psx sector data. So I started a painful search in the net... Teac is only giving informations if you are signing a NDA, (no, thank you) but finally I'd found the sources of some linux audio rippers, which showed me different scsi commands for reading raw data (bah, what a mess). Well, this plugin is the result of my researches. It offers seven different read modes in the plugin config window, and native ioctl support in w2k. So hopefully most existing drives are covered :) At least my Teac one finally is working fine :PTo get more speed, there are five caching modes: None, Read ahead, Async, Thread and Smooth. - None is the slowest mode, but it should work on most drives. Note: with enabled direct subchannel reading, you can only select the 'None' caching mode. - Read ahead will read more sectors at once, speeding up mdecs. There is a small chance that a few drives cannot do it, so set it to None, if you are having troubles. - The Async mode will do read ahead and some additional 'intelligent' asynchronous reads... that mode is recommended with the ASPI interface, it can squeeze a few more FPS on mdecs and XA audio out of your cd drive :) - The Thread mode will speed up the IOCTL interfaces, since that ones can't do real async reading. So, when you are using W2K/XP, and you have no ASPI installed, try this mode for best speed. - Some drives will have probems reading psx cds (for example you will notice small 'breaks' in mdec movies), this caching mode will try to solve that issues. Use it in combination with enabled gpu frame limitation. Maras Salvatruchas m s gangstas By mara13sb Mara Salvatrucha o MS son los nombres por los que se conoce a bandas dedicadas al crimen organizado localizadas en Centroamérica y Estados Unidos, constituidas por una mayoría de hondureños, guatemaltecos, salvadoreños, y otros centroamericanos Un miembro de la mara Salvatrucha con el nombre del grupo tatuado en la espalda, después de ser detenido por la DEA estadounidense. Sostienen células (clicas) localizadas en Latinoamérica con más de 100.000 miembros. Las actividades criminales de la mara Salvatrucha incluyen venta de drogas, extorsión, venta de armas, robo, asesinatos por encargo, etcétera. Sus actividades en los Estados Unidos atrajeron la atención del FBI que, en 2005, hizo redadas contra los pandilleros en las que fueron detenidos seiscientos miembros de la MS. es una pandilla que cuenta con unos 10 mil adeptos dentro de los Estados Unidos. Los más jóvenes son los más propensos a caer en sus redes, como Brenda Paz, quien con tan solo 17 años de edad y embarazada de 4 meses, encontró la muerte a causa de las relaciones peligrosas con esta banda de delincuentes. Su familia ahora cuenta su historia, a 2 años de su muerte, y advierte sobre los riesgos de participar de estos círculos viciosos del crimen. En sus inicios, las bandas denominadas Maras Salvatruchas estaban integradas por Salvadoreños en los Estados Unidos. La primera Mara de la que se tiene registro es la Wonder 13, creada en 1969 por el "Flaco Stoner". En la actualidad las maras están conformadas de manera indistinta por centroamericanos dirigidos por un salvadoreño, o exclusivamente por salvadoreños. La denominación Maras viene de la hormiga Marabunta, una especie que arrasa con todo a su paso, Salvatruchas por su país de orígen, El Salvador, y por la "astucia" de sus integrantes. Se estima que, nada más en la frontera México-Guatemala, existen por los menos 200 bandas de Maras, con más de 3,000 integrantes centroamericanos y mexicanos. En esa zona se registraron 187 homicidios de enero a septiembre de 2003, de los cuales 56 fueron tipo ajusticiamiento, con signos de tortura, maniatados y acribillados con más de 5 balazos, además del tiro de gracia. Las Maras Salvatruchas nacieron como agrupaciones de ayuda mutua ante el desempleo, la pobreza,la marginación y miseria en que se debatían latinos y negros por las políticas en su contra por el sistema estadounidense. De manera casi simultánea aparecen la 13 y la 18, Ambas nacieron con un lenguaje corporal y simbolismos, y sobre todo secretismo hacia su interior, dado el nivel de organización algunos dirigentes encaminaron a los grupos a la lucha por el control de las calles y la venta de estupefacientes. Esto dió paso natural a enfrentamientos con armas de fuego, empezaron a robar, a drogarse y a pintarse tatuajes por todo el cuerpo con lemas que representaban a su grupo. De regreso a su país, viajaron desde Los Angeles pasando por México, donde se multiplicaron como hongos, especialmente en el sur.Los mandos en una célula y en la banda se obtienen por antecedentes criminales, pruebas de valor, o por formar un grupo de poder, que por la fuerza controla al resto. Las principales víctimas de estas bandas en México, son los inmigrantes que ingresan al país por la frontera sur. Cuando bien les va solamente quedan inválidos, o sobreviven con la esperanza de un rescate que probablemente no llegará. Una de las razones para caer en manos de las Maras es encontrarse en fuego cruzado. Son muchas las células, pero solo dos las bandas: 13 y 18, que se disputan el poder del lugar donde estén. La MS13 se dedica más al tráfico de drogas, la MS18 al robo. Recientemente mataron a una muchacha con una niña de 6 meses en brazos, rompiendo reglas de la calle, debido al gran poder que sienten en sus manos. No le temen a la policía. Si llegan a caer en manos de la policía debe ser bajo una situación de batalla, y de preferencia con publicidad de por medio, para tener constancia de que provocaron conflictos. A lo único que le temen las Maras es a ser deportados a Salvador. La razón es tan simple que da miedo. De regresar, sin protección, pueden caer en manos de la Sombre Negra, una especie de Escuadrón de la Muerte, que según la leyende popular está formado por ex-militares y ex-policía aplicando justicia por su propia cuenta, y con sus propias reglas.
