LocoRoco Individual Level Any% Speedrun - World 1 Level 1 By kingreuben14 UPDATE: I have discontinued my any% run of this game, but I am planning on doing a 100% run. Stay tuned, and don't nag me with questions like "When will it be released?" This is the first in a series of LocoRoco speedrun videos. This is World 1 Level 1 at any%. After hundreds of attempts, I have finally managed to make a video that beats the level in less than one minute! The completion time is 59 seconds and 77 hundredths. Although there are two spots where I make slight mistakes, the extremely optimized part where the LocoRoco fall down through the spinning flowers more than makes up for those. I do believe that sub 59 seconds is possible, but I do not believe that sub 58 is possible. NES Gauntlet tool-assisted speedrun in 12:24 by FODA By UoBtExFODA Tool-assisted speedrun (TAS) - aims for fastest completion NES Gauntlet played by FODA. It's a TAS meaning it was played on an emulator using tools, such as savestates to undo mistakes and slowdown to allow precise input, to overcome human limitations. The objective of a TAS is to show the game pushed to it's limits, without the constraints of human skills and reflexes. Gauntlet is a Dungeons & Dragons simulator of sorts. You choose a class of Warrior, Valkyrie, Wizard or Elf to navigate the Gauntlet, collect treasure, slay wicked monsters, and save your beloved peasant hometown. Walkthroughs for this game estimate a completion time of several hours when playing normally. Here, we see the game completed in only 12 minutes! Usually clues have to be collected to discover the password to the last dungeon, but this is selected at the game's beginning, so the clues are unnecessary in a TAS. There is also some collision detection abuse and lots of luck manipulation. This updated version takes a better path, manipulates fights more, and abuses luck to get the password with shortest input time! There is a huge amount of secrets and hidden paths to take in this game. Another rule of the run is to open every note door, which is part of the generally-accepted definition of 100% in Banjo-Kazooie. The author does this by exploiting many tricks and glitches, with a lot of multitasking to get everything done as quickly as possible. The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time TAS by Bloobiebla (2:51:19.1) By SwordlessLink ***READ BEFORE WATCHING*** This tool-assisted speedrun aims to complete The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time in as little time as possible, while getting every Spiritual Stone and Medallion, and completing every Trial in Ganon's Castle. The author does this by exploiting many tricks and glitches, which would not be seen in a modern any% run. This run was made on an emulator, with slowdown, frame-by-frame shooting, savestates and rerecords. It is NOT meant to show skill, but rather the game pushed to its limits. It is only supposed to provide entertainment. You must bear this in mind when watching this video, or any TAS, for that matter. A lot of effort was put into this run. It is the result of many long months of tedious testing and optimal playing, but it has certainly payed off. When commenting, consider the amount of effort and time it would take to make a run like this. It's not worthless because it wasn't done on a console. Tool-assisted speedruns are arguably more difficult to do well than real speedruns, due to how difficult it is to achieve perfection and still make it look entertaining. Any anti-TAS comments (these include comments like "do it on a console, then I'll be impressed," "you suck for using an emulator," "cheater," etc) WILL be deleted on sight, and the poster will be permanently blocked from posting comments at any of my videos, or on my channel. I will not tolerate such a dispicable disregard for another person's determination and thoughtfulness for making a run like this. Please keep the discussion of TAS versus non-TAS to a minimum. Try to appreciate each category for what they are. As for my own thoughts on the run, well, I won't go into much detail, but I will say that this is, without a doubt, my favourite TAS to date.
