Baghdad, Iraq A rare video performance of Maqam Awj by Yusuf Omar and al-Chalghi al-Baghdadi in two parts from the early 1970s, recorded for Iraqi television. The Maqam Awj is a secondary maqam derived from the Maqam Seigah (sikah). It is sung to classical Arabic verses without any rhythmic accompaniment. It includes the following modulating pieces: Sufyan, Hakimi, Musta'ar, Mukhalaf Kirkuk, and Qadirbayjan. The poetry sung here is by Sayyid Ja'far al-Sayyid Hamad al-Hilli (1861-1898). تسجيل فيديو نادر لمقام الاوج من اداء القارئ يوسف عمر و الجالغي البغدادي (شعوبي ابراهيم الاعظمي، عبد الله علي الكاظمي، عبد الرزاق مجيد. كنعان محمد صالح) لتلفزيون العراق من اوائل السبعينات مقام الاوج العراقي هو مقام معقد يعد فرعا من مقام السيكَاه، و يغنى بالشعر الفصيح بدون اي ايقاع. تدخل فيه قطع السفيان، الحكيمي، المستعار، مخالف كركوك و القادر بايجان. شعر السيد جعفر ابو يحيى السيد حمد الحلي النجفي (١٨٦١-١٨٩٨) من قصيدته الحائيه: هـزوا مـعاطفهم وهنّ رماح * ونـضوا لواحظهم وهنّ صفاح شاكين ما حملوا السلاح و انما * منهم عليهم رهبة و سلاح بشراك يا من ذاق برد ثغورهم * أعـرفت ماروح الهوى والراح يا ايها الرشأ الاتيلع جيده * لك في الحشاشه مرتع و مراح وتـعمّدونا باللحاظ فـلا تـرى * مـن عـاشق مـا أثخنته جراح قدحت خدودك في فؤادي جذوة * والـورد خـيرصنوفه الـقداح يا يوسف الحسن البديع جماله * لـي مـثل يعقوب عليك نياح لا ينكر الخالون فيك فضيحه * ان الغرام لأهله فضاح Vocals: Yusuf Omar (1918-1986) Santur: Abdallah Ali al-Kadhimi (1929-?)
