How to Solve a 5x5x5 Rubik's Cube - Part 3 - Edge Pairing Link to Part 4 - Parity Errors: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KgmJg5PSifw Shows how to pair the edges of the 5x5 cube. This is the most time consuming part of solving the 5x5 Rubik's Cube Professor. PART 4 can be found under VIDEO RESPONSES! This part covers how to match up TWO edge pieces at a time. The two edge pieces we will be working with in this video are the OUTER/WING edge pieces and the INNER/MIDDLE edge pieces. There are more advanced methods of edge pairing which can match upto 6 pairs of "tredges" (12 edge pieces) at a time, however, since it is a little more involved I will not cover multiple edge pairing in this video. I first go into detail on how to identify two edge pieces and then position them so they can be matched. PART 4 IS NOW OUT!! CLICK ON THE VIDEO UNDER VIDEO RESPONSES TO WATCH THE FINAL PART. Rubik's cube official (former) World Record 7.08 seconds Erik Akkersdijk This is the official former world record for solving a Rubik's cube in 7.08 seconds for a single solve. It was the reigning world record from 13th July 2008 until 13th November 2010. My website: http://www.erikku.110mb.com My name is Erik Akkersdijk, a 20 year old Dutch student. If you want anything (to use this video, interview me, have me in any media etc.) in cooperation with me, please send me a personal message on youtube or email me if you have my address. Currently I'm looking for a sponsor, if you know any company willing to sponsor please let me know! Czech open 2008 Pardubice. Thanks to Zalán Mihály for judging me and thanks to Arnaud van Galen for shooting this vid! The trick is to be distracted by something so cubing is not priority anymore. Full results for the Czech Open can be found here: http://www.worldcubeassociation.org/results/c.php?allResults=All+Results&competitionId=CzechOpen2008 For my website check: http://www.erikku.110mb.com Hope you enjoyed! Tags: Smith, Will, cube, rubik's 1 Downloads - Last from: (Your Blog here!) |

7x7x7 Stop Motion Assembly!! Here's a bigger and better version of my previous 6x6 stopmotion assembly video. Its made of 218 pieces, 1066 separate frames that I had to shoot individually, and took me 5 weekends to complete, compared to the consecutive 4 hours the 6x6 animation took. This was mainly because it was shot during a busy school term instead of the holidays. Also you'll notice that the animation is much smoother-- the pieces actually glide into place as if they were nasty little Block Monsters taking over the world, and you can see the internal mechanism much more clearly. Part of the work while making this video was also the post-production where I had to edit away the cubies and pencils and Electroencephalographs that got accidentally caught in the background and do a bit of colour correction, which I didn't bother to do the other time. NOTE: Everything else is completely genuine, and if you see something that seems impossible its probably held there by blu-tack or a pair of Hidden Chopsticks. Some people have complained about the alleged presence of Nazi influence in the video at about 1:10, but I must insist again that it is nothing of the sort; simply being a stylized logo of my initials "Yh" which bears a remarkable similarity to the symbol. Thanks again to Nick ( http://www.youtube.com/user/rachmaninovian92 ) for lending me his V-cube 7 for all those weeks (sorry) to film and lubricate. Also appearing in the video is Booey the blue octopus, whom I forgot to mention in the credits. P.S. You are NOT recommended to use this as a guide for assembling a 7x7 v-cube. Many of the sequences shown are plain impossible and require partially dismantling the cube for every step. Plus, the nasty little Block Monsters might attack and Gobble you up. You never know. How to Solve a Rubik's Cube - Part 1 - White Cross In my tutorial, I will teach you how to solve a Rubik's Cube (regular 3x3)using 7 steps, which I explain in detail. My videos are longer than others you may find, but I feel that by spending more time with you for each step, you will understand it better than if I rush through it like those other videos. Although my videos are longer, it will pay off in the shorter amount of time you spend solving your cube. Other methods tend to use repetitive moves, not letting you understand how the cube works very well and wasting too much time and too many moves. I taught quite a few people this method in college, and also family members and friends who were able to solve it relatively quickly once they understood the method. Once you have memorized the algorithms and also understand the method I use, you can solve the cube in ABOUT 1-2 MINUTES WITH PRACTICE. Go here to see my Rubiks.com page with links to ALL my tutorials!! http://www.rubiks.com/Academy/3x3%204x4%20and%205x5%20tutorials.aspx This is the first step of the Tutorial for solving the cube. THE SECOND STEP IS ON MY CHANNEL PLAYLIST AND ALSO IN THE VIDEO RESPONSES SECTION OF THIS VIDEO. Link for Step 2: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aOkcgDNlBH0 Check out this video of a 7 YEAR OLD who solved the cube in under 3 minutes using my tutorial! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_6dEUb1T8HA It involves first placing four white edge pieces around the yellow center piece. You must then match each individual edge piece with its side color and flip it until it is matched with both the white and side colors. *If you are HAVING DIFFICULTY getting the four white edge pieces around the yellow center, please SEE MY Step 1 b video, which gives further examples which should prove to be useful and give extra help. Also, please do not ever hesitate to ask me ANY questions at all about the cube or if you have any comments or problems. I am ALWAYS glad to help. If you are using this method, I can GUARANTEE that I can explain and help you with anything you need to know as long as you provide me the information about your cube. Send long questions to my inbox and I will try to get back to you A.S.A.P. THANK YOU FOR WATCHING! I would like to thank Lars Petrus and also Tyson Mao along with Jessica Fridrich for allowing me to visualize the cube in a totally new way. My method basically incorporates strategies and techniques in both Tyson Mao's and also Lars Petrus' methods, making my method unique in itself. My method has been able to help numerous people solve their cubes, along with some family members and personal friends of mine, so I know it can work for you too! Any questions, please don't hesitate to inquire or leave comments on any steps which may have given you trouble.
