Ya que he recibido emails y han posteado muchas cosas ofensivas con respecto del tema quien cantó el reggae en Español 1ero les dedico esto: Para todos aquellos que no quieren creer que los 1eros en cantar PLENA (reggae en espa) son Panas, aquí les va esto de Wikipedia (1era enciclopedia de la Internet) y el link es: http://es.wikipedia.org/wiki/Plena_%28Panam%C3%A1%29 La Plena es un género musical practicado en Panamá que se deriva del Dance Hall jamaicano y algunas otras innovaciones como mezclas de soca o música haitiana, con algunas influencias de sonidos africanos. Esta variante del reggae en español, se inició en Panamá y a diferencia del reggaetón, ha continuado vinculándose musicalmente al reggae jamaicano (Dance Hall) mientras que el reggaetón heredó la mayor parte de su estilo al Hip-Hop (aunque en los inicios del mismo reggaeton, utilizó un estilo ligeramente panameño). Los precursores del género son varios, algunos antes fueron DJ's y cantantes a la vez mientras que otros se fueron interesando con los cada vez más comunes concursos de talentos. Las Primera Competencia de Reggae entre Grupos de Reggaeseros de Panamá y Colón, se realizó en el "Teatro Río", de Río Abajo, Ciudad de Panamá, en el mismo se presentaron los grupos "Bachuto" de Parque Lefevre, Original C , Renato y las 4 Estrellas (siendo uno de sus integrantes era Edgardo Franco, que más tarde será conocido en la década de 1990 como "El General", todos tocaban con el instrumental que cedía el profesor Edgardo Maloney. En esta competencia de Reggae ganó el grupo Original C y en segundo lugar quedó el grupo de Renato y las 4 Estrellas. En 1978, los lugares donde se podía escuchar y bailar este nuevo género era en el Rancho Grande, en la Discoteca "Disco Machine" y en el Jardín "El Compa" de Pedregal donde se presentaba Nando Boom todos los fines de semanas. Viendo la buena aceptación del público la gente empezó a pedir más de los artistas panameños cantando en el nuevo ritmo. Uno de los primeros hitos en el género fue por parte de DJ Renato que en 1978 saca en vinilo la primera producción de Reggae en español con temas como "Radio Bemba", "Marihuana", y "Critica". En la década de 1980 se introduce popularmente el género bailable del Reggae, el Dancehall Reggae y el nuevo género panameño del Reggae en Español alcanza popularidad en todo el país hasta llegar por primera vez a la cadena de televisión nacional. Renato reluce con "El Deni", un tema que lo hace popular dentro del país, para llevar una parte de los tiempos difíciles de la dictadura de Panamá al vacilón. A la vez hubo el nacimiento de otros cantantes exitosos del momento como Dario, Eric, Ness, Mr Rico, El Profeta, Gaby, Nando Boom y otros. ___________ MI PARTE FAVORITA, "mientras que el reggaetón heredó la mayor parte de su estilo...utilizó un estilo ligeramente panameño." HAY 'TA Ellos ultilizaron el estilo Panameño pa' crea su reggaeton; en otras palabras, el reggae Panameño ya estaba sonando cuando ellos crearon su estilo. ---------- Otro articulo interesante de wikipedia es el termino "Reggaeton." http://es.wikipedia.org/wiki/Reggaet%C3%B3n Existe un debate sobre el origen del reggaeton: para algunos es original de Puerto Rico mientras otros defienden que es de Panamá [2] , cuando en los años 1970, los jamaiquinos descendientes de inmigrantes que habían ayudado a construir el Canal de Panamá, comenzaron a interpretar el reggae en idioma español. Otro origen lógico propuesto es el de el inicio en Panamá, otra vez con la influencia de los jamaiquinos para los que este ritmo no era nuevo, pues el dancehall reggae y su variante raggamuffin tienen características precursoras del reggaeton (de ahí su nombre). Este origen del género no muestra al reggaeton como variante del reggae directamente sino del dancehall reggae. Se comienza a escuchar el reggaeton a principios de los noventa, con canciones de rap en español de fuerte contenido, como Soy de la calle de Vico C. JEJEJE... DESDE 1970 PAPA! DJ Augustin MIX by LONGER Darryl Jerard (D. J.) Augustin, Jr. (born November 10, 1987) is an American basketball player. He played point guard for the University of Texas Longhorns from 20062008. He was drafted ninth overall by the Charlotte Bobcats of the National Basketball Association in 2008. Augustin is listed as 6'0" (1.83 m) by the NBA but officially stands 5'10" (1.78 m) barefoot according to the 2008 pre-draft measurements.[1] Augustin was one of seven freshman to join the Longhorn basketball program for the 2006-07 season. He started all 35 games in the season as the point guard for the Longhorns, averaging 14.4 points and 6.7 assists per game. For his contributions, he was named to both the All-Big 12 Second Team and the Big 12 All-Rookie Team by the coaches and Associated Press.[3] Augustin had a chance to participate in the 2007 NBA Draft with former teammate Kevin Durant, but he chose to stay in school to develop his game more with the Longhorns. Augustin, along with Texas A&M Aggies player Joseph Jones, was featured on the front cover of the November 15, 2007 issue of Sports Illustrated.[4] In the fall 2007 semester, he achieved a 4.0 GPA, raising his cumulative GPA to a 3.64.[5] On February 27, 2008, he was named first-team Academic All-America by the College Sports Information Directors of America. He became the second Texas Longhorn basketball player to achieve the honor, following Jim Krivacs, who received it in 1979.[6] Augustin was also named to the USBWA All-America First Team. On April 3, 2008, the Naismith Memorial Basketball Hall of Fame awarded him the Bob Cousy Award.[7] On April 23, 2008, Augustin declared himself eligible for the NBA Draft.[8] On June 3, 2008, Augustin hired an agent thereby forfeiting his remaining NCAA eligibility.[9] Augustin was selected ninth in the 2008 NBA Draft by the Charlotte Bobcats. He signed a US$3.8 million deal with the team on July 8, 2008. Under the league's rookie scale, the deal will pay him $1.8 million in the upcoming season and nearly $2 million the next.[10] As of March 17, 2009 Augustin is averaging 11.7 points and 3.8 assists per game to go along with a +10.82 efficiency rating. He is also currently 5th in free-throw percentage amongst players who have attempted over 150 free-throws.
