Razors News: Windy City Riot 2009 By RazorsNews Windy City Riot 2009 The Windy City Riot is one of the longest running street contests in rollerblading, and one of the few street contests even happening these days. The Riot is a staple in the Chicago scene, and has a strong core group of skaters that have helped keep this competition at the level its at. It seems every year the Riot brings a random batch of rollerblading A-Listers, and usually whichever one of them is wearing a pair of TRS takes the trophy. But finally this year the curse was broken when Steve Lerner destroyed every spot with his smooth, effortless skating, and switch/natural repertoire of tricks. Thanks to Collin Martin and Juan Herrera for putting the event on again this year, and to everyone who came out and continues to do so year after year. PRO/AM RESULTS 01. Task TV: Remz 09 One - Edit by Tommy Chung By tasktv I'd like to thank shop task for hooking me up with these flow pair of remz 09's. This is an edit of me on the first day on them, i skated all day and hit multiple parks, because they were just to hot to take off. What i first noticed about them is that they look amazing, i'd say its the best looking skate out right now. I noticed they changed the liner also, which has a deeper V cut that adds for more movement, it has a thicker tounge for a better fit around your feet, and it comes with a softer heel pad and very comfortable new insole. The best thing i like about these skates is that they have alot more ankle support to the previous remz models, that they are feel alot stiffer. Which i found is good because it allowed me to skate with with out cuffs, and still had enough ankle support without them being to floppy as to the older remz models. The lacing system on the back of the skate, i like because it allows me to replace them when ever they should rip, unlike the old remz models which are held by velcro strap and cant be replaced. The wheels are like any other stock wheels on skates, which dont last as long as brand model wheels. I will replace soon.
