Late on Thursday, MSNBC was showing images of Tahrir Square while covering the latest developments on the Egypt situation, when suddenly a greenish horse with rider running away appeared out of the blue. The strange occurrence was most likely just a lens flare, a reflection of the fire as the camera moves. In the shortest amount of time, the ghost horse video began to spread like a wildfire, accompanied by religious-based theories. The most heard theory, other than the lens flare theory, is the one of 'The Four Horsemen of the Apocalypse', an apocalyptic vision predicted for the future in the Book of Revelation of Saint John the Evangelist. Chapter 6 tells of a scroll held by God that is sealed with seven seals. The first four are opened by Jesus Christ -- The Four Horsemen -- four riders on white, red, black and pale horses which symbolize Conquest, War, Famine and Death. Revelation 6:8 "I looked, and there before me was a pale horse! Its rider was named Death, and Hades was following close behind him. They were given power over a fourth of the earth to kill by sword, famine and plague, and by the wild beasts of the earth." A lot of people now think they have seen the Pale Horseman or the Fourth Horseman in the middle of the Egypt clashes. The ghost horse certainly has a pale color... Other more technical-oriented people claim CGI (Computer-Generated Imagery) software was used, but then you have to ask yourself why a television network would do such a thing. To me it looks clear that due to an incredible coincidence, an astonishing lens flare occurred at a most unfortunate moment. We DO live in "interesting" times, but I don't think MSNBC caught the Fourth Horseman on tape. He turned pages as he read from a long prepared speech, but then veered off into lengthy, improvised digressions. At times he adopted the tone of an absent-minded uncle, asking his audience to remind him of the names of newspapers or to return to a certain subject before he left (the audience did). But at other times his tone would turn bellicose, as he urged his supporters to fight on with him "to the last man and the last woman." He blamed the insurrection that has removed much of the country from his control on radical Islamists, and once again suggested they had given young people drugs that goaded them into a frenzy of rioting. "There were no demonstrations" in the eastern towns where the uprising started last month, Colonel Qaddafi said. "People came from outside Libya. Al Qaeda and the whole world knows that Al Qaeda does not take part in demonstrations." He called the rebels holding some cities "terrorists" and said loyalist forces would not surrender. He asked parents to persuade young people to turn in their weapons and promised forgiveness, but he vowed swift vengeance against those he said were behind the revolt: Afghanistan-trained militant Islamists. THAI PROTESTERS Continue into a 3rd Day 13.04.2009 The protesters are demanding the resignation of Prime Minister Abhisit Vejjajiva's Government, which they say took power illegitimately four months ago & are vowing to stay on the street's until this is achieved. There are reports of soldiers firing into the air and at least one fatality as well as almost 100 injuries. A state of emergency was ordered on Sunday and soldiers and armoured vehicles sent on to the streets after ousted prime minister Thaksin Shinawatra called for a revolution. Mr Vejjajiva appeared on television late on Sunday, flanked by military commanders, to say an army coup was not going to happen. Thailand has seen 18 coups since 1932, and the military often has the final say in Thai politics.
