Paul Revere and the Raiders - Sharon (1961)

Paul Revere and the Raiders were huge in the US, but this early track from 1961 is relatively unknown. Re-recorded for the B-side of Like Long Hair. Mark Lindsay's vocals shine on this and with mainly electric guitar, this track is not unlike British beat bands, and the US garage bands who came along much later. Certainly if it'd had heavier drums on it. The intro has got to be one of the best.
