Maha Muneeswara Mantra - Album: Sacred Chants By sashimha Story ------ In ancient India there was a king called Thakshar. His daughter was actually Lord Shiva's wife Parvati in one of her incarnations, so Thakshar was Shiva's father-in-law. When he discovered this, he became very arrogant and began to disrespect Lord Shiva. One day, Thakshar decided to perform a special puja called the Achvametha Yajna. However, he did not invite Lord Shiva to the Yajna. Brahma, Vishnu, Indra, the Thevars and Maharishis strongly requested that he invite Lord Shiva but King Thakshar was stubborn and refused their request. Thakshar continued to conduct the Yajna without giving Lord Shiva his share of the Avir. Lord Shiva's became extremely angry. The King was cursed by Nandhithevar, who sits at the base of Lord Shiva's idol, and Shivanintahi resulted. The Yajna did not end, and Lord Shiva's anger exploded. Veera Pathirar, Lord Shiva's frightful guard, appeared angrily from the Yajna. From the face of Lord Shiva came Sri Muneeswarar who took seven incarnations - Shivamuni, Mahamuni, Thavamuni, Naathamuni, Jadamuni, Tharammamuni and Vazhamuni. This he did to protect the souls. As he appeared from Lord Siva's face. He assumed the form of Shivamuni. He became Mahamuni who possessed immeasurable divine power . Thavamuni removed all obstacles in the path of the Thevars and Rishis during their Yajna. Nathamuni offered blessings to the Devagananga and Puthaganga. Jadamuni grew trees and possessed Ruthrkshamala Kaatgar and the book. Tharmamuni was the protector of the good and the destroyer of evil. Vazhamuni is praised and worshipped by the Kabalis who live in the jungle. By assuming the different incarnations, Lord Sri Muneeswarar showered His devotees with blessings. By praying to Lord Muneeswarar, his devotees may achieve bliss and good health in life. Devotion to him is believed to cure all illnesses. Worship of Sri Muneeswarar: ------------------------------ The cult of Sri Muneeswarar is popular in Singapore and Malaysia, with many temples dedicated to him. His vahana is a horse and some time with dogs, and a statue of it is placed in front of his shrine. Also associated with Muneeswarar is the three-pronged trident, which is usually adorned with cloth and three limes are placed on the prongs. Murtis (statues) of him are usually painted as opposed to the black stone statues of the other gods. In Singapore, Daoists have worshipped alongside Hindus at the Hock Huat Keng Temple and Veeramuthu Muneeswarar temple. They participate in each others' rituals to honour the 'friendship' between the Daoist deity Tua Peh Kong and Sri Muneeswarar. For example, both Hindus and Daoists carry milk pots on their heads, to bathe their Gods on New Year's Day (Jan 1). According to the temple legend, around 60 years ago, a benign tiger started to roam the area. It did not attack the villagers. The Daoist God of fortune, Tua Peh Kong, entered a Chinese medium during a trance shortly after the tiger's appearance. Tua Peh Kong said He was a 'good buddy' of the Hindu warrior god Sri Muneeswarar, who was the village deity. He said that they had both sent the tiger to protect the villagers. In response, the Daoists installed a statute of the tiger and invited their Hindu friends to set up a temple for Sri Muneeswarar. Consejo By rubenf Aquí tenéis un vídeo que desde la primera vez que lo vi me encantó, eso sí, hasta hoy que me ha sido recordado no pensé en compartirlo (aunque tenía la duda, he estado buscando si lo tenía colgado ya, en favoritos, pero no): Dice así: Señoras y señores del curso del 97: Usen protector solar. Si pudiera ofrecerles un solo consejo para el futuro, sería el uso del filtro solar. Sus beneficios a largo plazo se han demostrado científicamente, El resto de mis consejos están basados sólo en mi propia experiencia. Y son: Disfruta del poder y la belleza de tu juventud. No importa... Nunca entenderás el poder de la belleza de tu juventud hasta que se haya ido. Pero creeme, dentro de 20 años recordarás en tus fotos y comprenderás de una manera distinta a la de ahora cuantas posibilidades se te abrieron y lo bien que te veías. No estás tan gordo como piensas. No te preocupes por el futuro. O preocúpate, pero debes saber que preocuparse es tan efectivo como tratar de resolver una ecuación de álgebra mientras masticas un chicle. Los problemas que realmente son importantes en tu vida nunca pasarán por tu mente, como aquellos que no se te ocurrirían a las 4 de la tarde de un martes sin nada que hacer. Guarda tus viejas cartas de amor. Deshazte de tus viejos recibos del banco. Estírate. No te sientas culpable si no sabes que hacer con tu vida. Las personas más interesantes que he conocido, no sabían a los 22 años que hacer con sus vidas. Algunas de las personas más interesantes de 40 años que conozco aún no saben que hacer. Consume bastante calcio. Cuida tus rodillas. Echaras de menos su estado actual cuando te fallen. Tal vez te casarás, tal vez no. Tal vez tendrás hijos, tal vez no. Tal vez te divorcies a los 40. Tal vez bailes la danza del pollo en tu 75 aniversario de bodas. No importa lo que hagas, no te enorgullezcas demasiado, ni te critiques tanto. Tus opciones tienen 50% de ser acertadas, como la de todos los demás. Disfruta tu cuerpo. Úsalo de todas las formas que puedas. No temas lo que otras personas piensen. Es el más grande instrumento que tendrás jamas. Baila, Aún si el único lugar que tengas para hacerlo sea tu sala. Lee todas las indicaciones, aún si no las sigues. No leas revistas de belleza. Sólo te harán sentir feo(a). Conoce a tus padres. No sabes la falta que te harán hasta que no estén. Se amable con tus hermanos. Ellos son tu mejor nexo con tu pasado, y las personas probablemente estén en el futuro. Entiende que los amigos van y vienen, pero hay un puñado de ellos que debes cuidar con cariño. Trabaja duro para superar los obstáculos geográficos y los de la vida, porque cuando más viejo te pongas, más necesitarás a las personas que conociste en tu juventud. Vive en Nueva York (una ciudad) alguna vez. Pero múdate antes que te vuelvas muy duro. Vive en California del Norte (el campo) alguna vez. Pero múdate antes que te vuelvas muy blando. Viaja. Acepta que hay ciertas verdades eternas. Los precios van a subir, los políticos son mujeriegos, y tú también vas a envejecer. Y cuando haya sucedido, vas a fantasear que cuando eras joven, los precios eran razonables, los políticos eran nobles y los niños respetaban a sus mayores. Respeta a tus mayores. No esperes que alguien te ayude. Tal vez tengas una herencia. Tal vez tengas un(a) esposo(a) rica. Pero nunca sabrás cuando puede desaparecer. No juegues mucho con tu pelo, o cuando tengas 40, parecerás tener 85. Se cuidadoso con los consejos que recibes. Pero se paciente con los que te los dan. Aconsejar es una forma de nostalgia. Darlos es una manera de recuperar el pasado, limpiarlo, esconder las partes feas y reciclarlo por un precio mayor del que vale. Pero confía en mí en lo del protector solar. Mary Schimch.
