[View \| Download]	Primitive Spalling Jasper Attempt On the last day of our survival trip, we found a large piece of jasper on the gravel bar. We tried like crazy to break a piece off it... to no avail. If we had more time, we probably would have tried some other methods. I'd be curious if we built a fire next to it what it would do. Move the rock closer and closer to slowly heat it up. Mabey I'll go back later and give it a try. Kids dont try this at home. Always wear saftey glasses, steel toed boots, leather apron, heavy duty gloves and ear plugs. We are trained professionals.
