Thai Chicken Sauce ½ cup low-fat chicken broth ¼ cup reduced-fat (all natural, no sugar added) peanut butter 2 tbsp each chopped, fresh cilantro and chopped, fresh basil leaves 1 tbsp sugar (sugar substitute) 2 tsp each grated gingerroot and lemon zest 1 tsp each sesame oil and cornstarch 1 clove garlic, minced ½ tsp each ground cumin and crushed red pepper flakes Main 12 oz uncooked fettuccine 4 boneless, skinless chicken breast halves, cut into strips 1 large red pepper, cut into thin strips 2 cups snow peas, cut in half diagonally 1 large carrot, cut into thin strips Combine sauce ingredients in blender until smooth. Astronomía didáctica en: http://www.pawean.com/MVM/index.html La Ecliptica es un plano fundamental en astronomía. En esta primera parte, se describe dicho plano y su relación con el ecuador y las estaciones de año. La Tierra tiene varios movimientos periódicos. De ellos, los más importantes por su intensidad son dos: el de rotación sobre su propio eje y el de traslación alrededor del Sol. Estos movimientos originan los ciclos en los que estamos todos inmersos: el movimiento de rotación es el que da lugar al día y la noche y dura 24 horas; el movimiento de traslación es la causa del ciclo de las estaciones, y dura 365 dias, es decir, un año. La causa de que existan estaciones estriba en la especial disposición del eje de rotación de la tierra. La linea roja imaginaria que rodea la Tierra es el Ecuador. El Ecuador es un plano fundamental que se adopta en astronomía para realizar cálculos de posición, tanto en la superficie de la tierra como en el cielo. Las coordenadas calculadas con base en este plano se llaman "Coordenadas Ecuatoriales". La linea de los Polos es perpendicular a este plano, y es la recta alrededor de la cual gira la Tierra. Si hacemos visible el plano de la órbita de la tierra alrededor del sol y lo proyectamos en el espacio hasta que corte al globo terrestre, veremos que hace con el Ecuador de la Tierra un ángulo de 23 grados y medio aproximadamente. A esto se le llama "oblicuidad de la eclíptica" La eclíptica es el plano que contiene la órbita de la Tierra alrededor del sol, y también, la línea aparentemente recorrida por el sol a lo largo de un año respecto del fondo inmóvil de las estrellas. Este ángulo ocasiona que la tierra, en su ciclo anual, oriente sus polos hacia el sol. En la imagen se puede observar la inclinación de la Tierra durante el invierno. El plano de la clíptica se proyecta sobre el hemisferio Sur. El Polo Norte se encuentra más alejado del Sol que el Polo Sur. Si nos situamos en el plano de la eclíptica, la posición de la tierra se vería como muestra la imagen. En ella se ve cómo el hemisferio Sur recibe los rayos solares de forma más directa, es el Verano Austral, mientras que el hemisferio Norte recibe la luz de forma oblícua: es el invierno Septentrional. Situándonos en el Sol, esto queda reflejado en la animación que vemos ahora: si vemos aparecer la línea del Ecuador sobre el plano de la Eclíptica, es verano en el hemisferio Sur... Cuando dicha línea desaparece, es invierno allí y verano en el hemisferio Norte. Cuando ambos planos se cruzan frente a nosotros, será el comienzo del Otoño o de la Primavera: estamos hablando de los equinoccios. Si vemos la tierra de forma esquemática, como en las siguientes imágenes, observaremos mejor a qué nos referimos. La eclíptica está representada aquí como una circunferencia de color verde. Es, en realidad, la proyección del plano en el que se desplaza la tierra alrededor del sol. De la misma forma, si proyectamos la posición de sol de cada día a lo largo del año, podemos ver cómo éste se desplaza por esa línea, ocupando distintas posiciones. En la imagen, el sol está representado por el pequeño círculo amarillo. Partimos del Solsticio de invierno (0º de Capricornio), zona de declinación Sur. El sol va avanzando hasta cruzarse con el ecuador en el punto Vernal (0º de Aries), equinoccio de primavera. A continuación, avanza hasta el Solsticio de Verano, máxima declinación Norte, (0º de Cancer) y desciende a partir de aquí, volviendo a cruzar el plano del ecuador en el Equinoccio de Otoño (0º de Libra) descendiendo de nuevo hasta Capricornio, completando el ciclo anual. Estos puntos máximos y mínimos del paso del sol configuran dos planos paralelos muy importantes: el Trópico de Cancer y el Trópico de Capricornio. Ambos representan las latitudes máximas que alcanza el Sol a lo largo del año. El Trópico de Cancer se halla a 23º 27' Latitud Norte y el Trópico de Capricornio a 23º27' latitud Sur. Cuando el sol alcanza esas latitudes, se dice que está en los Solsticios. Tenemos situados astronómicamente, por tanto, los dos Solsticios (Cancer y Capricornio) y los dos Equinoccios (Aries y Libra). Estos puntos nos marcan el comienzo de las estaciones.
