The Secret Government It aired on PBS in 1987 and is as good as anything on the tape (must see). Moyers is a very respected TV journalist who also worked for Lyndon B. Johnson and has a very professional approach. He interviews many different people involved with the CIA and other government agencies. His documentary gives quite an overview of what has actually happened in the last 50 years regarding the CIA and the cold war (including Iran, Guatamala, Cuba, Viet Nam and Chile). He features such people as Ralph McGeehee and Phil Retinger (both former CIA agents), Rear Admiral Gene La Rocque (Ret. U.S.N.), Theodore Bissell (active in the CIA at the time), Sen. Frank Church and many others. Moyers is so very credible. The full video "The Secret Government" is 90 minutes - this segment is edited by Frank Dorrel to 20 minutes. Saving the Nude Beach 2 http://www.trail6.org In this series, we talk with beachgoers about the clothing-optional beach at San Onofre State Beach, Trail 6. In this episode we talk with Brook, Heather, Kayla and Lauren about their first time experience at the beach. San Onofre Beach at Trail 6 has been a clothing-optional haven for nature lovers for over 30 years. Now the the California State Park System is planning on taking away this small stretch of clothing-optional paradise unless we all speak-up! On May 19th 2008, Ruth Coleman, Director of California Department of Parks and Recreation had issued an order revoking the longstanding "Cahill Policy" as it applies to the San Onofre trail 6 area, effective Sept. 2, 2008. The day after labor day. Allen Baylis, an attorney, said the naturists have a right to be nude at Trail 6 because of the Cahill Policy, written in 1979. The rule states that "enforcement of nude sunbathing regulations within the state park system shall be made only upon the complaint of a private citizen. Citations or arrests shall be made only after attempts are made to elicit voluntary compliance with the regulations." Please see http://www.friendsofsanonofre.org and http://www.sanonofree.org for more info and to learn what you can do to help save the beach! Paul on the Nude Beach (San Onofre Trail 6) http://www.blacksbeach.com A 30 year policy keeping clothing-optional beaches an option at some California State Parks and Beaches has been revoked. The State has revoked the right to go nude at San Onofre State Beach north of San Diego near San Clemente. The same policy that has protected San Onofre Beach, called the "Cahill Policy", has been terminated state wide. This means that Black's Beach and all other clothing optional beaches in the state park system could be closed unless we speak up now. President Obama Address to Congress(September 8 2011) Full Speech Obama Live September 8 2011 pushes Congress to act now on economy - politics - White House WASHINGTON — Calling it an "urgent time for our country," President Barack Obama asked Congress on Thursday night to "stop the political circus" and approve a nearly half-trillion-dollar plan to help the economy by cutting payroll taxes, raising taxes on the wealthy and rewarding companies that hire new workers. "We continue to face an economic crisis that has left millions of our neighbors jobless and a political crisis that has made things worse," Obama said in an address to a joint session of Congress. To answer that crisis, Obama was proposing what he called the American Jobs Act, which he said would cut payroll taxes in half for working Americans and most small businesses; boost spending on public works, like roads, by $105 billion; and make permanent a temporary cut in the individual tax rate, which was reduced from 6.2 percent to 4.2 percent for this year only. 1. Other political news of note 1. First Read: The CBO and short-term fixes The Congressional Budget Office released a report in January that looks at some of the short-term policies the president might ask Congress to enact in his speech Thursday night. 2. Analysis: Perry takes the heat but keeps on smiling 3. Perry's Merck link in spotlight following vaccine order 4. Payroll tax cut likely hub of Obama's jobs plan 5. Congressional debt reduction panel kicks off Obama calculated that the "typical working family" would get a $1,500 tax cut and that small companies with 50 employees would save $80,000, which he said would "provide a jolt to an economy that has stalled." Obama didn't say how much the plan would cost, but advisers told NBC News it would run about $450 billion. Obama said he hopes to pay for it by closing corporate tax "loopholes" and by raising taxes on wealthier Americans. "We need a tax code where everyone gets a fair shake and everybody pays their fair share," he said. "And I believe the vast majority of wealthy Americans and CEOs are willing to do just that if it helps the economy grow and gets our fiscal house in order." Earlier this summer, Republicans forced a partial government shutdown over their refusal to raise any taxes at all, but Obama told them they should "pass this jobs plan right away," because "the millions of Americans who are watching right now, they don't care about politics. They have real-life concerns." Advertise | AdChoices Advertise | AdChoices Advertise | AdChoices Aides told NBC News that a key point of Obama's address was that the measure simply wraps in a variety of deficit-reduction and jobs proposals that have drawn support in the past from both parties. Obama made the same argument, telling lawmakers there was "nothing controversial about this piece of legislation." "Everything in here is the kind of proposal that's been supported by both Democrats and Republicans," he said. Obama challenges Congress Obama promised to release a detailed plan Monday. In its latest budgetary outlook, the Congressional Budget Office estimated the federal deficits fiscal year 2011, which ends Sept. 30, at $1.28 trillion, down about $10 billion from last year. A bipartisan congressional debt committee met for a first time Thursday , assigned with finding $1.5 trillion in deficit reductions. What motivated the 9/11 hijackers? See testimony most didn't Motives for the September 11, 2001 Attacks 9/11 http://Tinyurl.com/911Motivation http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dHyUhdRFbB8 http://representativepress.blogspot.com/2007/04/motives-for-september-11-2001-attacks.html Exposing the fact that politicians and pundits are lying about "why they hate us." http://representativepress.blogspot.com/2007/02/exposing-fact-that-politicians-and.html "They concentrate on how much injustice America has caused in the world and how to get rid of this unfairness. They mention Palestine, they call on you to uphold your national dignity, to defend people, and suggest for that you must sacrifice yourself." http://representativepress.blogspot.com/2006/06/it-is-beyond-pale-for-zionists-to-lie.html http://www.representativepress.org/donate/ http://representativepress.blogspot.com/ http://Tinyurl.com/WhatIsWrongWithIsrael What motivated the 9/11 hijackers to attack the US? US foreign policy bias for Israel in the Israeli-Palestinian conflict and US government support for other oppressive regimes in the Middle East. The 9-11 Commission held its twelfth and final public hearing June 16-17, 2004, in Washington, DC. On June 16 the Commission heard from several of the federal government's top law enforcement and intelligence experts on al Qaeda and the 9-11 plot. It was at this hearing that the question "What motivated them to do it?" was finally asked. Lee Hamilton, vice chair of the 9/11 Commission said, "I'm interested in the question of motivation of these hijackers, and my question is really directed to the agents. ... what have you found out about why these men did what they did? What motivated them to do it?" The agents looked at each other, apparently not eager to be the one to have to say it. FBI Special Agent Fitzgerald stepped up to the plate and laid out the facts, "I believe they feel a sense of outrage against the United States. They identify with the Palestinian problem, they identify with people who oppose repressive regimes and I believe they tend to focus their anger on the United States." But this testimony was kept out of the 9/11 Commission Report and no recommendation was given to address the main motive for the 9/11 attacks. After the report was issued, the ten commissioners formed the "9-11 Public Discourse Project." At the August 2, 2005 session on foreign policy, Lee Hamilton quickly tries to silence someone who asks why US support for Israel isn't being addressed. The questioner started to ask, "Mr. Hamilton? I had a quick question for you sir. I had spoken with you on C-SPAN about a month ago ..." Immediately Hamilton interrupts him, "I think we'd uh ..." The questioner persisted, "why aren't we addressing the gorilla in the room? The gorilla in the room is US support for Israel." He corrects Hamilton's claim that the Israeli-Palestinian dispute wasn't addressed in the 9/11 Commission Report by referring to page 147 of the report which says, "By his own account, Khalid Sheikh Mohammed's animus toward the United States stemmed not from his experiences there as a student, but rather from his violent disagreement with U.S. foreign policy favoring Israel." The questioner keeps getting interrupted by Hamilton as he pleads, "Why aren't we addressing that sir?" Hamilton didn't answer and dismisses the questioner, "Alright sir. Alright, this is a conversation you and I ought to have. Let's not take up the time of our resource people. May we go to the next question please?" "This was sensitive ground," Hamilton and Kean say in their new book, "Without Precedent: The Inside Story of the 9/11 Commission," and some commissioners worried "listed U.S. support of Israel as a root cause of al Qaeda's opposition to the United States indicated that the United States should reassess that policy." There is a reason politicians don't want US support of Israel listed as a root cause of al Qaeda's terrorism. There is a reason politicians don't want the American people to "reassess that policy." If the public were to take a good look at the facts, if they researched what the policies actually do to people in the Middle East, they would be horrified. Politicians lie to us about "hatred of our freedoms" because they care more about serving special interests than about keeping us safe. The Commissioners were more interested in playing politics than in fulfilling the 9/11 Commission's mandate to "to provide recommendations designed to guard against future attacks." These politicians betrayed the American people. Dishonesty about the 9/11 motives robs us of the freedom to decide for ourselves if we want to put our lives at risk over specific foreign policies. http://representativepress.blogspot.com/2007/04/re-pre-collapse-bowing-debunks-911.html http://www.representativepress.org/BowingDebunksExplosives.html http://representativepress.blogspot.com/2006/09/wtc-7-was-severely-damaged-on-south.html http://representativepress.blogspot.com/2005/07/right-to-exist-another-zionist.html Tags: 9/11, 911, America, American, Commission, East, Hamilton, Israel, Israeli, Kean, Lee, Middle, Muslim, Palestine, Palestinian, Report, States, Trade, US, United, WTC, agenda, attacks, center, crime, foreign, hijackers, human, international, killed, killing, law, motive, muslims, occupation, oppression, policy, purpose, reason, rights, terrorism, terrorist, terrorists, violence, world 1 Downloads - Last from: (Your Blog here!) |

Iraq, the Neocons and the Israel Lobby - John Mearsheimer Complete video at: http://fora.tv/fora/showthread.php?t=1967 Author and political scientist John J. Mearsheimer argues that neoconservative and pro-Israel lobby groups were both greatly influential to the U.S. decision to go to war in Iraq. ----- John Mearsheimer and Stephen Walt discuss "The Israel Lobby and U.S. Foreign Policy." What is at the heart of the special relationship between the United States and the state of Israel? Does Israel truly represent a strategic U.S. asset in the Middle East? Are the two nations really partners in the same "War on Terror", with the same threats up against them, and the same interests at stake? Professors John Mearsheimer and Stephen Walt had become well-known authorities in our understanding of contemporary international relations theory, security, and policy long before their collaboration on The Israel Lobby and U.S. Foreign Policy. Atlantic Monthly approached the pair in the fall of 2002 to research the depth of influence of the pro-Israel lobby on U.S. policy. By the time they returned with the results of their research, the magazine's editor had decided not to go ahead with the piece, and was not even interested in a revision. At the prompting of an American academic peer, they decided to submit the article to the London Review of Books where it was finally published in March of 2006. Mearsheimer and Walt argue that if there ever truly were significant strategic (i.e. balance of power considerations during the Cold War) and/or moral (i.e. common Judeo-Christian and democratic values) grounds to justify the unique level of American support afforded the Jewish state, they have long been exhausted. Has this unwavering support made Israel a liability in U.S. foreign policy? And, does this special relationship threaten, rather than enhance, American security in the Middle East, in the world, and at home? - World Affairs Council of Oregon John J. Mearsheimer is the R. Wendell Harrison Distinguished Service Professor of Political Science and the co-director of the Program on International Security Policy at the University of Chicago, where he has taught since 1982.
