A mediados de los 80's el grupo CARMIN vendría a formarse con la participación de 4 jovencitas que hacia coros, y ademas tocaban sus propios instrumentos con un estilo llamado TECNOPOP, sin embargo el alma y motor de este grupo siempre fue Gaby Martínez, quien después de colocar varios éxitos en la radio se quedaría con el nombre de CARMIN. Tras la separación de esta efímera agrupación entonces vendría un periodo de casi un año de intensa preparación, con la experiencia de los creadores de la imagen de Madonna, las coreografías de un experto y una espléndida producción musical CARMIN surge como una artista de proyección internacional. Su 1er gran paso es su participación en el festival OTI 88 la cual seria repetida en 1989 y el lanzamiento en México y EE UU de su cd titulado un grito (CARMIN III) Etapa en la que se integró ELY GUERRA e IVAN GONZALEZ . Fué invitada también en varias ocasiones al programa musical más importante en ese entonces SIEMPRE EN DOMINGO donde Raúl Velasco le dio la clásica patadita de la suerte. En este mismo periodo CARMIN realiza un vídeo con el tema LET'S GO DANCE y también aparecería en la banda sonora de la película SUMMER EAGLE. Posteriormente CARMIN graba el tema PLAY TOY gracias a este se convierte en la primer artista latina en aparecer en la revista BILL BOARD, convirtiéndose en la primer mexicana en aparecer en los 100 primeros lugares de las listas de popularidad del black charts coronándose hasta la fecha como la única mexicana que traspaso fronteras con un tema en ingles. Basta con entrar a la página billboard y en busqueda poner : CARMIN para corroborar esta información. Ganadora al premio Minerva como mejor interprete en 1992, otorgado por los medios de comunicación a nivel internacional. Después de todos estos logros CARMIN hace una pausa en su carrera para crear nuevos estilos en su música no solo para ella sino para otros artistas, películas y eventos altruistas. Actualmente CARMIN es considerada una de las cantantes músico mas completas ya que ademas de cantar y componer toca infinidad de instrumentos como la bateria, teclado, etc... . Ya que ella es la cantante, de sus canciones, la compositora, la arreglista, coros sin duda un genio musical. PARTICIPACIONES DE CARMIN EN E.U.A CARMIN compartió escenarios en diversos eventos musicales en los estados unidos con personalidades tales como: Rod Steward, Sting , UV-40, Janeth Jackson , Maria Conchita Alonso, Lara y Monarres ,y varios mas, a cargo de Pepe Quintana, en toda la unión americana. En el 2000 fue invitada por el grupo ROSTROS OCULTOS a grabar el disco 15 años de Celebracion De ROSTROS OCULTOS, en el cual CARMIN grabo con ellos el tema: "Quien eres tu?", en el disco tambien aparece KENNY Y LOS ELECTRICOS, ALEX SYNTEK, ALEX LORA, ALEJANDRA GUZMAN, Y muchos mas, NUEVA PRODUCCIÓN DISCOGRÁFICA BACK FROM WAR. Carmín aparece este 2004 con su nuevo álbum titulado BACK FROM WAR , en el cual se incluyen 14 éxitos grabados en su forma original y 6 temas inéditos en los cuales CARMIN presenta una nueva imagen y concepto musical en donde se emplean sonidos electrónicos, así como coros HIP HOP. Walt Whitman "O Captain! My Captain!" Poem Animation Movie By poetryanimations Heres a virtual movie of the great Walt Whitman reading his celebrated poem "O Captain! My Captain!" Walt Whitman (1819-1892) wrote this dirge for the death of Abraham Lincoln in 1865. Published to immediate acclaim in the New York City Saturday Press, "O Captain! My Captain!" was widely anthologized during his lifetime. In the 1880s, when Whitman gave public lectures and readings, he was asked to recite the poem so often that he said: "I'm almost sorry I ever wrote [it]," though it had "certain emotional immediate reasons for being." While Whitman is renowned as the most innovative of American poets, this poem is a rare example of his use of rhymed, rhythmically regular verse, which serves to create a somber yet exalted effect. Whitman had envisioned Lincoln as an archangel captain, and reportedly dreamed the night before the assassination about a ship entering harbor under full sail. Restlessly creative, Whitman was still revising "O Captain! My Captain!" decades after its creation. Pictured here is a proof sheet of the poem, with his corrections, which was readied for publication in 1888. The editors apparently had erred by picking up earlier versions of punctuation and whole lines that had appeared in the poem prior to Whitman's 1871 revision.
