Fusion has been conventionally done by heating a gas to such a high temperature that the average particle of gas has enough energy to overcome the coulombic repulsion of another particles nucleus so that it can fuse. Instead we use 2 concentric spherical grids one of which is at a high negative potential to produce an electric field that accelerates the ionized gas to high enough velocities to fuse. The associated technology and cost of operations is many times less that the big budget fusion projects like ITER, while still producing a continuous nuclear fusion reaction. The system consists of a vacuum system which evacuates our stainless steel vessel. We then use a variable autotransformer to control an input voltage for our high-voltage transformer. The transformer supplies anywhere from negative 10,000 to 50,000 volts to our central grid. This video highlights our first plasma achieved. No fusion is actually ocurring in this video as the chamber is filled with air at medium vacuum pressure. To actually produce fusion reactions we will fill the chamber with it's fuel, deuterium gas. [View \| Download]	Homemade Plasma Cutter Power Circuit By cheaphardwarez Homemade Plasma Cutter Power Circuit. This vid shows all the needed connections for the power circuit of the plasma cutter. It must be wired this way. If you put the resistor on the torch and not on the work clamp then it WILL NOT WORK. The value of the inductance changes based on your capacitors and frequency, but I have found that most any inductor that does not have much resistance works fine. Use a MINIMUM of 1000uF photo flash capacitors; wire them in parallel. Solder all these connections and use more if you can. Do not hook the caps up backwards or they WILL explode. Remember this plasma cutter is not isolated from ground so YOU AND WHAT YOU CUT MUST BE ISOLATED FROM GROUND. There is almost no measurable voltage between ground and work or tip when on dry concrete, but be safe and wear rubber soled shoes and gloves anyway. The contactor disconnects the work clamp from the power supply when not cutting for added safety. I will be building a 110 volt version when I get the time. It will as safe as any other commercial product. This cutter however, is more like the older industrial robotic cutters. Please note this is for informational purposes only! This device is not isolated from ground and in this current version could, under correct circumstances, cause a lethal shock. [View \| Download]	Homemade Plasma Cutter Power Circuit By cheaphardwarez Homemade Plasma Cutter Power Circuit. This vid shows all the needed connections for the power circuit of the plasma cutter. It must be wired this way. If you put the resistor on the torch and not on the work clamp then it WILL NOT WORK. The value of the inductance changes based on your capacitors and frequency, but I have found that most any inductor that does not have much resistance works fine. Use a MINIMUM of 1000uF photo flash capacitors; wire them in parallel. Solder all these connections and use more if you can. Do not hook the caps up backwards or they WILL explode. Remember this plasma cutter is not isolated from ground so YOU AND WHAT YOU CUT MUST BE ISOLATED FROM GROUND. There is almost no measurable voltage between ground and work or tip when on dry concrete, but be safe and wear rubber soled shoes and gloves anyway. The contactor disconnects the work clamp from the power supply when not cutting for added safety. I will be building a 110 volt version when I get the time. It will as safe as any other commercial product. This cutter however, is more like the older industrial robotic cutters. Please note this is for informational purposes only! This device is not isolated from ground and in this current version could, under correct circumstances, cause a lethal shock. Fusion Basics: Nuclear reactions are capable of releasing huge quantities of energy. Such reactions can be achieved either by the nuclear fission (splitting) of elements of high atomic number or by the nuclear fusion (joining) of elements with low atomic number. In astrophysics, fusion reactions power the stars and produce all but the lightest elements. The most efficient reaction to utilise fusion o earth is the DT fusion reaction in which nuclei of the two Hydrogen isotopes Deuterium (D) and Tritium (T) are forced together to overcome the rejection due to their electric charge and to allow them to fuse due to the strong nuclear binding force between them. The product of this reaction is a Helium nucleus and a neutron, both with very high kinetic energy. To achieve the temperatures, densities and confinement times required to provoke sufficient fusion reactions, various magnetic confinement devices have been designed and researched.
