AMUL story of INDIA documentary in HINDI Part 1 of 2 (The taste of india) Amul (Anand Milk Union Limited), formed in 1946, is a dairy cooperative movement in India. It is a brand name managed by an apex cooperative organisation, Gujarat Co-operative Milk Marketing Federation Ltd. (GCMMF), which today is jointly owned by some 2.8 million milk producers in Gujarat, India. AMUL is based in Anand, Gujarat and has been a sterling example of a co-operative organization's success in the long term. It is one of the best examples of co-operative achievement in the developing economy. "Anyone who has seen ... the dairy cooperatives in the state of Gujarat, especially the highly successful one known as AMUL, will naturally wonder what combination of influences and incentives is needed to multiply such a model a thousand times over in developing regions everywhere." The Amul Pattern has established itself as a uniquely appropriate model for rural development. Amul has spurred the White Revolution of India, which has made India the largest producer of milk and milk products in the world[citation needed. It is also the world's biggest vegetarian cheese brand. Amul is the largest food brand in India and world's Largest Pouched Milk Brand with an annual turnover of US $1050 million (2006-07). Currently Amul has 2.8 million producer members with milk collection average of 10.16 million litres per day. Besides India, Amul has entered overseas markets such as Mauritius, UAE, USA, Bangladesh, Australia, China, Singapore, Hong Kong and a few South African countries. Its bid to enter Japanese market in 1994 had not succeeded, but now it has fresh plans of flooding the Japanese markets The birth of Amul at Anand provided the impetus to the cooperative dairy movement in the country. The Kaira District Cooperative Milk Producers Union Limited was registered on December 14, 1946 as a response to exploitation of marginal milk producers by traders or agents of existing dairies in the small town named Anand (in Kaira District of Gujarat). Elaan - Barn Scene and Dil Mein Hulchul A clip from the movie "Elaan" featuring Rahul Khanna, Arjun Rampal, Amisha Patel, John Abraham, and Lara Dutta. This is one of my favorite sequences in this movie, because, hey, Sonia and Abhimanyu are awesome. ---- In this scene, the group have holed up in a barn for the night. Arjun (Rampal) shows Priya (Patel) some pictures of his daughter, and it causes Priya to ask Karan (Khanna)--upon whom she has a crush--about his views on children. The answer is somehow less than satisfactory. The conversation gets Abhimanyu (Abraham) and Sonia (Dutta)--lovers--on the subject of love and romance, and Abhimanyu proves just how smooth he is when it comes to sweet-talk (which is to say: not at all). ---- I tried to re-subtitle this because my DVD is scratched at the beginning, and my ripper program transfers subtitles really oddly because of this. It isn't a direct subtitle transfer from the movie; I altered a few bits here and there because, quite frankly, the subtitles in the movie itself are a bit . . . grammatically incorrect and also nonsensical in some places. I left some of the nonsensical bits in because I simply couldn't understand what was trying to be conveyed, or I couldn't think of a better way to word it. So, if translation is off in places, it's either my fault or the fault of the original subtitlers: take your pick. ---- "Elaan" does not belong to me, nor do the lyrics/dialogue/characters thereof.
