[View \| Download]	Panorama - April Fool's Day Hoax - Spaghetti Harvest - 1st April 1957 On April 1, 1957 the British television programme Panorama broadcast a three-minute segment about a bumper spaghetti harvest in southern Switzerland. The success of the crop was attributed both to an unusually mild winter and to the virtual disappearance of the spaghetti weevil. The audience heard Richard Dimbleby, the shows highly respected anchor, discussing the details of the spaghetti crop as they watched video footage of a Swiss family pulling pasta off spaghetti trees and placing it into baskets. The segment concluded with the assurance that, For those who love this dish, theres nothing like real, home-grown spaghetti. The Swiss Spaghetti Harvest hoax generated an enormous response. Hundreds of people phoned the BBC wanting to know how they could grow their own spaghetti tree. To this query the BBC diplomatically replied, Place a sprig of spaghetti in a tin of tomato sauce and hope for the best. To this day the Panorama broadcast remains one of the most famous and popular April Fools Day hoaxes of all time. It is also believed to be the first time the medium of television was used to stage an April Fools Day hoax. Since 1955 Panorama had been anchored by Richard Dimbleby, whose authoritative, commanding presence had made him one of the most revered public figures in Britain. If Dimbleby said it, people trusted that it was true. Which is one of the reasons why the spaghetti harvest hoax fooled so many viewers. His participation lent the hoax an air of unimpeachable authority. Almost no one else at the BBC knew about it. The segment was not mentioned at all in the pre-transmission publicity handouts. The line-up for that days show included a long segment about Archbishop Makarios, leader of the Greek Cypriots, and a clip of the Duke of Edinburgh attending the premiere of the war film The Yangtse Incident. The second-to-last segment was about a wine-tasting contest, and then it came time for the spaghetti harvest. Dimbleby, sitting on the set of Panorama, looked into the camera and without a trace of a smile said: And now from wine to food. We end Panorama tonight with a special report from the Swiss Alps. The screen cut away to the prepared footage. When it was all over, Dimbleby reappeared and said, Now we say goodnight, on this first day of April. He emphasized the final phrase. Panorama never attempted another April Fools Day spoof, despite numerous calls for a sequel. However, the hoax did inspire a number of similar stunts in its honour. [View \| Download]	Fiat 147: Comercial antigo de lançamento 1976 - Brasil Um dos comerciais de lançamento do Fiat 147 no Brasil em 1976, primeiro modelo da montadora italiana produzido no país. Por ser uma montadora recém chegada, a FIAT investiu em várias propagandas com diferentes abordagens. Nesta aqui é enfatizado o sistema de freios do veículo. =========== HISTÓRIA - FIAT 147 =========== Lançado em novembro de 1976, ele marcou a estréia da Fiat no Brasil. Na versão L -- originada do Fiat 127 italiano -, o 147 apresentava várias características modernas para a época, como pneus radiais de séries calçados em rodas de aro 13, suspensão independente nas quatro rodas, grande espaço interno e diminutas dimensões externas (apenas 3,63 metros). O motor, de 1049 cm3, com 57 cavalos, transversal (outra novidade), tinha comando de válvulas no cabeçote (que por sinal era de alumínio) acionado por correia dentada, e seu principal apelo era a economia de combustível. A Fiat fez uma propaganda interessante, na qual o carro percorria a ponte Rio-Niterói (cerca de 14 quilômetros de comprimento) com apenas 1 litro de gasolina -- que se encontrava numa bureta ligada diretamente ao motor. E, segundo o comercial, ainda sobrou combustível no recipiente utilizado. Para provar que o carro era resistente, característica inegável do seu mais forte concorrente, o Fusca, a montadora promoveu um outro teste no mínimo curioso: subiu e desceu os 365 degraus da escadaria da Igreja da Penha, no Rio de Janeiro. Pelo menos na propaganda divulgada pela televisão, as suspensões se saíram muito bem. Mas nas mãos dos consumidores as coisas estavam um pouco diferentes... O 147 não teve um começo fácil e não foram poucos os percalços por que ele passou. Defeitos no câmbio e problemas de acabamento e durabilidade deixaram muitos consumidores desapontados. De qualquer forma, logo em 1978 saiu a série especial GL Vogue, o 147 básico, o GL normal de linha e a Furgoneta (com vidros traseiros inexistentes e sem os bancos de trás, uma inovação no Brasil). Em 1979 é a vez da picape (outra novidade), derivada da versão hatch, do 147 Rallye, com motor 1300 e acabamento esportivo, do 147 a álcool (o primeiro movido a esse combustível no Brasil, certamente o primeiro veiculo de serie no mundo a álcool) e o top de linha GLS. No ano seguinte chega a frente Europa, bem mais moderna, com pára-choques de plástico. A versão básica permanece com a mesma linha original do 147. Nesse mesmo ano é lançada a Panorama, versão station wagon da linha, e a Fiorino, versão de carga com baú, outra novidade. A picape longa viria em 1981 e a City, em 1982 Para 1982, alias, a empresa muda o nome das versões, com o surgimento do básico C (no lugar do L), do intermediário CL (antigo GL) e do 147 Top (antigo GLS). Este apresentava painel de instrumentos concebido pelo designer Bertone. O Rallye passa a ser chamado de Racing. Havia uma exceção: o GL 500.000, uma série especial que foi fabricada entre junho de 1981 e janeiro de 1982. Em 1983 é lançado o Fiat Spazio, uma derivação do 147, e com ele vem o Oggi CS (fabricado a partir de março de 1983), a versão três volumes e duas portas do Spazio. Nesse mesmo ano-modelo o Rallye passa a se chamar Spazio TR e o Top vira CLS. O básico continua com a frente Europa até 1984 e em 1985 passa a ter a mesma parte dianteira do Spazio.
