SURAIYA MULTANIKAR bary baymorawat post by zagham By zagham99 suraya multaniker live performence on atv morning show. Surriya Multanikar was born in 1940 in Multan. He earliest childhood memories are of wanting to excel as a singer. No one in her immediate family could either teach or advise her, so she taught herself by listening to film songs and copying their tunes and lyrics. Surriya was only seven years old when Roshan Ara Begum visited her house in Multan. She taught Surriya a ghazal which Surriya skillfully presented the next day. Impressed by the child's voice, Roshan Ara asked her parents to provide her with a qualified teacher. A year later she sang for Pir Sharif, who predicted that the child would someday be famous. Because her family could not afford to pay for her training, Pir Sharif asked Fauji Khan, his disciple and a well-known music teacher of Multan, to give Surriya her initial training free of charge. Three months later, when Pir Sharif died, Surriya went home. No one spoke of music until three years later, when Fauji Khan came to visit the family. With great difficulty, he persuaded them to let him teach the young girl in fulfillment of the wishes of his Pir. At the age of thirteen Surriya sang in front of Ustad Khan Sahib Bundoo Khan, a well-known classical singer, who was impressed by her voice. She later auditioned for radio, and soon her career as a child star began. She sang under the name Surriya Begum until her first public performance in Karachi, where Ustad Khan Sahib Bandoo Khan gave her the name Multanikar. She started her career in mid fifties and won popularity on the basis of "Barey Bey Murawwat Hein Yeh Husn waley". She is considered to be a top class singer of Seraiki folk songs and Khawaja Farid's Kafis. She is equally excellent at rendering ghazals and some of her best performances are reflected in the singing of Ghalib's ghazals. In her highly individual style of singing there is a unique combination of folk and classical traditions. Now in semi-retirement, Surriya Multankiar still sings for Radio Multan on a regular monthly basis and also performs for Pakistan Television occasionally. She yearns to teach someone who would learn with the same passion with which she would teach, but she has yet to find a pupil who fulfills those requirements. She vows that she will continue singing until the last breath leaves her body. "Music is and will always be my life and soul. it is an integral part of me which I treasure most religiously," she says. She was awarded pride of performance medal in 1986. Zaid Hamid:BrassTacks-Yeh Ghazi Episode11; Sultan Mahmud Ghaznavi Part1 By khawajak BrassTacks program Yeh Ghazi on Timeline of the Muslim History. In this episode Zaid Hamid discusses the campaigns of Sultan Mahmud Ghaznavi in the subcontinent. It was Hindus who took the offensive & their Raja Jay Pal launched an assault on Ghazni during the time of Mahmud's father Sebuktagin. He suffered a demoralizing defeat & lost fair proportion of his land. When Sultan Mahmud came to power he again took the field to avenge his defeat. But this time the thrashing was even greater & so much was he disheartened by this that he committed suicide.Sultan Maḥmud was the first to carry the banner of Islām into the heart of India Sultan Mahmud was one of the greatest Iconoclasts in the History. When approached to spare the idol of Thanesar, highly revered by the Hindus, in exchange of substantial "annual tribute and fifty elephants and jewels to a considerable amount", Mahmud simply turned it down saying: "The religion of the faithful inculcates the following tenet: 'That in proportion as the tenets of the Prophet are diffused, and his followers exert themselves in the subversion of idolatry, so shall be their reward in heaven;' that therefore, it behoved him, with the assistance of God, to root out the worship of idols from the face of India. How, then, should he spare Thanesar?" He repeated similar sentiments when, at Somnath, he was offered a huge compensation to spare the idol. Even his nobles pointed to him that "he could not obtain so much treasure by breaking the idol, and the proferred money would be very serviceable." His reply was simple and straightforward. He preferred the glory of his religion above any booty. He said: "I know this, but I desire that on the day of resurrection I should be summoned with the words 'Where is that Mahmud who broke the greatest of heathen idols?' rather than by these: 'Where is that Mahmud who sold the greatest of the idols to the infidels for gold?'" He razed the temple to the ground and broke the idol into four pieces. Firishta writes "two pieces of the idol were to be broken off and sent to Ghazni so that one might be thrown at the threshold of the public mosque and the other at the court door of his own palace. These identical fragments are to this day (now 600 year ago) to be seen at Ghizany. Two more fragments were reserved to be sent to Mecca and Medina." Though a zealous champion of Islām, he never treated his Indian subjects harshly nor did he ever impose the Islāmic religion on them. He maintained a large contingent of Hindu troops, commanded by their own countrymen, whom he employed with great success against his religionists in Central Asia. Conversion to Islām was never a condition of service in the Sultans army. Sultan Mahmud virtually obliterated the Fitna-e-Qaramitah who after being thumped by the Abbasids had got settled in Multan & established their centre here. May Allah SWT have mercy on him Yeh Ghazi Yeh Teray Pur Asrar Banday Jinhain Tunay Bakhsha hai Zauq-e-Khudai Do Neem Un ki Thokar say Sahra o Darya Simat kar Pahaar In ki Haybat say Rayi Do Aalam say Karti hai Baygaana Dil ko Ajab cheez hai Lazzat-e-Aashnayi Shahadat hai Matloob o Maqsood-e-Momin Na Maal-e-Ghaneemat na Kishwar Kushayi Dilay Mard-e-Momin main phir zinda kar day Woh Bijli thi keh Na'ara-e-La Tadar main Azayim ko seenom main baydaar kar day Nigha-e-Muslim ko Talwar kar day (Iqbal) Tags: afghanistan, ayaz, brasstacks, butshikan, fitnaqaramitah, ghazni, iconoclasm, iconoclast, islaminsubcontinent, jaypal, kalinjer, khoresan, lahore, mahmoodghaznavi, mahmudayaz, mahmudghaznavi, multan, muslimgeneral, muslimhero, muslimhistory, qaramitah, sebuktagin, somnath, sultanmahmud, thanesar, yehghazi, zaidhamid 1 Downloads - Last from: http://downthisvideo.com/ (Your Blog here!) |
