Who Are the People of Taqwa? - Nouman Ali Khan Khutbah by Br. Nouman Ali Khan on Feb. 13, 2009 at IIOC titled: "Who Are the People of Taqwa (Muttaqeen)?" Nouman is the founder and CEO of Bayyinah, as well as the lead instructor for a number of Bayyinah courses including the 'Fundamentals of Classical Arabic' and 'Divine Speech'. His first exposure to Arabic study was in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia where he completed his elementary education. He continued Arabic grammar study in Pakistan, where he received a scholarship for ranking among the top 10 scores in the national Arabic studies board examinations in 1993. But his serious training in Arabic began in the United States in 1999 under Dr. Abdus-Samie, founder and formal principal of Quran College, Faisalabad, Pakistan who happened to be touring the US for intensive lectures in Tafsir and Arabic studies. Under Dr. Abdus-Samie, Nouman developed a keen methodical understanding of Arabic grammar. He further benefited from Dr. Abdus-Samie by internalizing his unique teaching methods and later translating his work into English for the benefit of his own students. Nouman served as professor of Arabic at Nassau Community College until '06 and has taught Modern Standard and Classical Arabic at various venues for nearly 7 years with over 10,000 students nationwide. Currently he has dedicated himself to a seven-year-long project, of conducting a linguistic & literary focus Qur'anic Tafseer series in English. He was fond of music and went to Radio Pakistan in Karachi to start a career as a fiddler. There, it was suggested to him that he sing, resulting in his starting a program on Radio Pakistan in Hyderabad. He received his music education from Ustad Nazir Hussain and Bary Waheed Ali Khan, experienced in Bhittai's Sur. He became very famous when he sang "Munhjo Mulk Maleer" for the film Umar Marvi. He became well-known everywhere after performing the Siraiki Kafi "Yaar Dadhi Ishq Atish Lai Hai". He also sang Mir Sikandar Khan Khoso's kafis "Ishq munjhon izhar thee ayo" and "Kech Punhal day hal kahay hal" at Radio Pakistan. Juman's son, Shafi Muhammad, also followed his style of kafi singing.[clarification needed][2] Juman was awarded a Bedil Award, Gold Award, Saga Award, and Latif Award, and, in 1980, the Tamgha-e-Husn-e-Karkerdigi by the Pakistani government. Juman died on 24 January 1990 in Karachi. The time has come to think about the idolatrous ideas that Paul introduced to this religion, as he introduced the idea that Christ was created from the divine, after the Christians had been unanimously agreed that he was a created being, a slave or servant of God. Who is Christ according to the Christians? Is he the Lord or the son of the Lord or the third of three? The time has come to think about the belief in Trinity which is contrary to sound human nature and common sense. The time has come to think about the contradictions in the attitude towards the cross; instead of burning every cross and treating it in a disrespectful manner because it was on something like this that the Lord or the son of the Lord was crucified -- God forbid -- as the Christians claim, we see them venerating it and regarding it as holy and worshipping it. The time has come to think about the embarrassing differences between the Gospels, from which there is no way out except to admit that they have been tampered with and the wording and meaning has been distorted. Therefore this Convention condemns all acts of terrorism perpetuated in the name of Islam and dubs them as anti-Islam; Sufis have been playing key role in the construction of peaceful society, promotion of peace and harmony and propagation of Islam in every age. Their shrines are the cultural symbols and enjoy sanctity. Their desecration and vandalizing is an outright anti-Islam acts. Therefore, such actions are condemned in the strongest possible words. Islam does not allow the desecration of religious places of other religions and all such activities amounting to the same are also considered against Islamic teachings; The Constitution of Pakistan 1973 is a complete and comprehensive document, which was adopted and passed with the concurrence of all strands of national opinion, and religions schools of thought. Therefore condemnation of the Constitution and the institutions of judiciary and parliament under it constitutes a clear violation of the Constitution, which cannot be tolerated at all. The Convention strongly condemns such behaviour; Acquisition of knowledge is mandatory on every Muslim without any discrimination of gender and the definitive text of the Holy Quran proves that considering the women education as un-Islamic and destruction of the educational institutions is a violation of the Islamic teachings and rejection of the text of the Holy Quran. The holder of such belief who insists upon such a backward value system is responsible for defamation of Islam; Suicide bombings on the innocent people are manifestly prohibited. Islam does not admit of them, rather it considers them an act of barbarism and terrorism. In the similar way, such acts as declaration of war against the army, security forces and law enforcement agencies of an Islamic state, killing of those having dissenting opinion and getting the demands fulfilled on gun-point are manifestly against Islam. The participants also strongly condemn such actions; Islam gives a guarantee for respect and dignity of women, provision of equal opportunity for their education, and ensuring their practical role in society. Contrary to these Islamic injunctions, there is no space for self-styled understanding of Islam; Those holding beliefs and ideology based on terrorism and extremism, rejection of democracy, violation of women rights, desecration of sacred religious places and shrines, mass-killing of humanity, suicide bombing, rebellion against the state institutions, violation of Constitution, occupation of cities by the armed men, and armed struggle against and Islamic state are only a minority group of Pakistan, who have nothing to do with Islam. This is rather a heinous conspiracy to defame Islam, and debunk its bright face. 5/6 - Maqam e Mustafa (S.A.W) awr Shan e Ghaus ul Wara (RA) by Sahibzada Hassan Mohi ud Din Qadri Special speech of Sahibzada Hassan Mohi-ud-Din Qadri (President of MQI Supreme Council) on the subject of "Maqam e Mustafa (S.A.W) awr Shan e Ghaus ul Wara (RA)" (19 Apr, 2006 - CD#585) مقام مصطفیٰ (ص) اور شان غوث الوریٰ (حسن محی الدین قادری)، منہاج یونیورسٹی، لاہور، 19 اپریل 2006 ********************************************************** Grand Reception in the honour of Sayed Zia-ud-Din Qadri Al-Gillani under Bazm-e-Qadria (Dated: 04 April 2008) Bazm-e-Qadria of Minhaj University organized a special reception on March 28 in the honour of Pir Sayed Zia-ud-Din Qadri Al-Gillani, the son of the spiritual patron of Minhaj-ul-Quran International Shaykh-ul-Mashaeikh Sayedna Tahir Ala-ud-Din al Qadri al-Gillani al-Baghdadi. This programme was held in the newly constructed hall of Goush-e-Durood in the central secretariat of Minhaj-ul-Quran International. Nazim-e-Ala Dr Raheeq Ahmad Abbasi, the office-bearers of Bazm-e-Qadria and other leaders received the respected guest on his arrival at the Secretariat. The teachers of COSIS were also present at the occasion. Pir Sayed Zia-ud-Din Qadri Al-Gillani presided over the meeting. Sahibzada Hassan Mohi-ud-Din Qadri, Dr Raheeq Ahmad Abbasi, Mufti Abdul Qayyum Khan Hazarvi and other leaders were present among the guests. Qari Khalid Saeed Qadri recited verses from the Holy Quran to start the proceedings of the programme. Hafiz Anser Ali Qadri presented Naat. 'Manqabat' was also offered in the honour of Huzoor Sayedna Ghous-e-Azam (RA). Mufti Abdul Qayyaum Khan Hazarvi presented the welcome address and expressed his deep gratitude to Pir Sayed Zia-ud-Din Qadri Al-Gillani upon his arrival at the Central Secretariat. He said that his presence in the secretariat was a matter of honour for the organization and its affiliates, which reminded of the periodic visits of Qudw-tul-Aulia to the Central Secretariat and the University where he would spare special time for the students of the University. Addressing at the occasion, Principal of COSIS and Nazim-e-Ala Dr Raheeq Ahmad Abbasi said that the saints had been guiding the Umma in every age. They also played important role in reforming their disciples along spiritualistic lines. The Silsila Qadria of mysticism was actively engaged in spreading the spiritual message of Huzoor Ghous-e-Azam like other spiritual schools of thought. He said it was a matter of immense pleasure and privilege that Pir Sayed Zia-ud-Din Qadri Al-Gillani graced the occasion. He is popularizing the message of his revered father. He prayed to Allah to keep him under the spiritual guidance of Huzoor Ghous-e-Azam. In his speech, Sahibzada Hassan Mohi-ud-Din Qadri said that the spiritual journey of Umma was due to the guidance and direction of the saints and different spiritual schools of thought. The presence of saints represents Divine Mercy upon the Umma in every age. Today the Friends of Allah were present in every region engaged in spreading spiritualism. The chain of Aulia is like a garden and Allah Almighty deputed His Friends for every Umma. He said we are privileged that our spiritual journey is under the guidance of Huzoor Ghous-e-Azam. The role of Aulia is like a channel. As there is a power Grid Station for the electricity system by which power is transferred onward, likewise, the spiritual chain of saints also exists. He said we should be proud of our association with the family of Huzoor Ghous-e-Azam. We would have to resolve today that we would keep this spiritual association intact. Love and the slavery of the Holy Prophet (saw) are our faith and touchstone of our life and death.
