One day, while inventorying guitars I realized that it was so loud in there that I couldn't think. I picked up my camera and filmed a bit (I'm not an actor, that's really how I felt; You would know I'm not an actor if you'd seen the films I'm in). I posted it on my Facebook and got a good reaction from friends. As a result, I did it a few more times as the situation made itself available. My main point regarded the cacophony of sound, NOT the ability of the players, even though some people thought (and still think) I was making fun of talent. Then it went viral. Honestly the weirdest experience of my life. Suddenly, complete strangers were telling me how much I sucked or rocked based on 20 seconds of my day. I took a lot of the negative personally because I grew up during a time when you talked behind somebody's back instead of anonymously telling it to their face. I've since come to deal with it. The Google checks help. I still find it weird that this is how I've come to "fame", but.... I'll take what I can get. Thank you for watching. [View \| Download]	NEVADO DE COLIMA - Cavalleria Rusticana por Pietro Mascagni (Intermezzo) El volcán Nevado de Colima es un antiguo macizo volcánico ubicado en el estado de Jalisco, en el occidente de la República Mexicana. Su altura es de 4260 msnm y no presenta actividad volcánica. Su última erupción ocurrió hace quizá unos pocos miles de años y fue el responsable de cubrir lo que hoy es conocido como el valle de Zapotlán (Graben de Tepic-Zacoalco), que hasta entonces era una gran depresión, así como diversos puntos del graben de Colima. Su cima presenta signos de grave erosión glaciar lo que ha dificultado determinar algunos aspectos de su violenta historia. Hoy en día es posible encontrar materiales piroclásticos del nevado a más de 80 km de distancia del cráter ocasionadas por una erupción de magnitudes catastróficas acompañada de avalanchas y lahares voluminosos que se cree no fue anterior al pleistoceno. A pesar de que tiene en nombre "El Colima", el nevado está localizado en el estado de Jalisco mas no en Colima, solo está cerca de los límites de los estados. GEOLOGÍA A diferencia del resto de los grandes estratovolcanes del centro del país, los cuales están asociados a la subducción de la placa de Cocos con la placa Norteamericana, el Complejo Volcánico de Colima comparte a la vez una singular característica que lo asocia con un movimiento tectónico irregular, alimentado por la transferencia del Bloque Tectónico de Jalisco a la sub-placa de Rivera. Este movimiento desplaza el sector occidental de Jalisco hacía el Oeste. Se encuentra en una zona marcada por la formación de grabens y fallas geológicas que corren formando una gran herradura desde Colima, hasta Tepic atravesando la parte central de Jalisco. BIODIVERSIDAD La vegetación del Nevado es de bosques templados y fríos de pino-encino, oyamel y juníperos. A partir de la cota de los 4000 metros sobre el nivel del mar existe el ecosistema conocido como tundra alpina, donde los zacatonales y los musgos son las principales plantas, pues los árboles (pinos, oyameles) dejan de crecer a esta altura. En cuanto a la Fauna que está presente en el Nevado habita el venado cola banca, el pecarí, el puma, el trigrillo u ocelote, diversas serpientes y demás reptiles , y numerosas especies de aves como el águila, gallinas silvestres, y gran variedad de insectos camaleones tapis leones ratas. Tanto en el Reino Vegetal como en el Animal, el parque cuenta con gran número de endemismo, es decir, presencia de especies que solamente habítan un lugar determinado. DECRETO El área donde se localiza este volcán está protegida por el gobierno mexicano con el decreto de Parque Nacional Nevado "El Colima" que le otorgase el presidente Lázaro Cárdenas en 1936, el área natural también protege al vecino Volcán de Fuego, que es considerado el volcán más activo de México. TURISMO Es común que durante el invierno se cubra de nieve, por lo que es frecuentemente visitado entre los meses de noviembre y marzo. Para acceder a la cima de este volcán es necesario desplazarse a la población de Ciudad Guzmán, en el estado de Jalisco, de ahí se toma la carretera a La Mesa y El Fresnito donde la señalización advierte el camino al parque nacional, una vez internados en el área protegida, la terracería conduce hasta unas antenas que se encuentran en los 4000 msnm último punto hasta donde pueden llegar los automóviles. [View \| Download]	NEVADO DE COLIMA - Cavalleria Rusticana por Pietro Mascagni (Intermezzo) El volcán Nevado de Colima es un antiguo macizo volcánico ubicado en el estado de Jalisco, en el occidente de la República Mexicana. Su altura es de 4260 msnm y no presenta actividad volcánica. Su última erupción ocurrió hace quizá unos pocos miles de años y fue el responsable de cubrir lo que hoy es conocido como el valle de Zapotlán (Graben de Tepic-Zacoalco), que hasta entonces era una gran depresión, así como diversos puntos del graben de Colima. Su cima presenta signos de grave erosión glaciar lo que ha dificultado determinar algunos aspectos de su violenta historia. Hoy en día es posible encontrar materiales piroclásticos del nevado a más de 80 km de distancia del cráter ocasionadas por una erupción de magnitudes catastróficas acompañada de avalanchas y lahares voluminosos que se cree no fue anterior al pleistoceno. A pesar de que tiene en nombre "El Colima", el nevado está localizado en el estado de Jalisco mas no en Colima, solo está cerca de los límites de los estados. GEOLOGÍA A diferencia del resto de los grandes estratovolcanes del centro del país, los cuales están asociados a la subducción de la placa de Cocos con la placa Norteamericana, el Complejo Volcánico de Colima comparte a la vez una singular característica que lo asocia con un movimiento tectónico irregular, alimentado por la transferencia del Bloque Tectónico de Jalisco a la sub-placa de Rivera. Este movimiento desplaza el sector occidental de Jalisco hacía el Oeste. Se encuentra en una zona marcada por la formación de grabens y fallas geológicas que corren formando una gran herradura desde Colima, hasta Tepic atravesando la parte central de Jalisco. BIODIVERSIDAD La vegetación del Nevado es de bosques templados y fríos de pino-encino, oyamel y juníperos. A partir de la cota de los 4000 metros sobre el nivel del mar existe el ecosistema conocido como tundra alpina, donde los zacatonales y los musgos son las principales plantas, pues los árboles (pinos, oyameles) dejan de crecer a esta altura. En cuanto a la Fauna que está presente en el Nevado habita el venado cola banca, el pecarí, el puma, el trigrillo u ocelote, diversas serpientes y demás reptiles , y numerosas especies de aves como el águila, gallinas silvestres, y gran variedad de insectos camaleones tapis leones ratas. Tanto en el Reino Vegetal como en el Animal, el parque cuenta con gran número de endemismo, es decir, presencia de especies que solamente habítan un lugar determinado. DECRETO El área donde se localiza este volcán está protegida por el gobierno mexicano con el decreto de Parque Nacional Nevado "El Colima" que le otorgase el presidente Lázaro Cárdenas en 1936, el área natural también protege al vecino Volcán de Fuego, que es considerado el volcán más activo de México. TURISMO Es común que durante el invierno se cubra de nieve, por lo que es frecuentemente visitado entre los meses de noviembre y marzo. Para acceder a la cima de este volcán es necesario desplazarse a la población de Ciudad Guzmán, en el estado de Jalisco, de ahí se toma la carretera a La Mesa y El Fresnito donde la señalización advierte el camino al parque nacional, una vez internados en el área protegida, la terracería conduce hasta unas antenas que se encuentran en los 4000 msnm último punto hasta donde pueden llegar los automóviles.
