De acuerdo a lo que ellos declaran, su idea es hacer rock del moderno mezclado con elementos indígenas que les eran familiares sonando en lo más sureño y pantanoso del área de Mandenville. Aunque los miembros de 12 Stones son jóvenes en edad, suenan bastante compactos en su composición y habilidad técnica y exhiben cierta madurez que los podría proyectar. El debut del grupo es agresivo, pero tiene melodía que engancha y no volvamos a mencionar que los chicos tienen menos de 21 años de promedio. Los ganchos, lo cantable y lo que se lleva en el rock ve el nacimiento de grupos como estos. El vocalista tiene Paul McCoy describe Mandeville como una "escena demasiado pequeña para un músico", los típicos lugares en los que hay que graduarse de banda de covers si es que no te quedas ahí toda la vida. 12 Stones estaba decidido a mostrar material original desde el principio. Por lo que pasaron un par de años para que el grupo entrara al circuito más profesional tocando con poco público y grabando un demo que sonara convincente para un ejecutivo discográfico. Llegaron a New York para presentarse en esas audiciones o convenciones lugares en los cuales rondan los caza-talentos. Anécdotas más y engorrosas situaciones hicieron que grupo llegara a firmar con la creciente y sonada hoy en día Wind-Up Records y entonces con buenas espaldas decidieron grabar su debut en Los Angeles, eligiendo a un experimentado productor del nuevo rock; si de modernidad se trataba Jay Baumgardner ya había trabajado con tres grupos como Papa Roach, Drowning Pool y Alient Ant Farm. El productor fue el primer impresionado con la forma y el fondo del sonido de 12 Stones, más allá de su juventud e inexperiencia Jay declaró: "Esta banda va a dar que hablar". Tanto las voces de Paul McCoy, fluctuando entre lo pasivo-agresivo, lo melódico o lo emotivo, complementado con el trabajo de guitarra de Eric Weaver; uno de esos guitarristas que todavía cree en que hay que inyectarles solos de guitarra al new-rock. La temática de la banda tiene aire de rabia, pero no tratan de forzarla sino mostrarla como un estado de ánimo en la juventud norteamericana de hoy. Entre escarbar en lo íntimo se decidieron en la opción de lo emotivo, en que los recuerdos de una crianza dentro de una familia disfuncional podían provocar o inspirar. Letras que hablan de no estar en control de una buena parte de tu vida y el sentimiento de inquietud, siendo doloroso pero haciéndote más fuerte. Y eso 12 Stones lo quiere recrear con música en temas tales como 'Broken', 'Home' o 'The way I Feel'. De acuerdo a lo que ellos declaran, su idea es hacer rock del moderno mezclado con elementos indígenas que les eran familiares sonando en lo más sureño y pantanoso del área de Mandenville. Aunque los miembros de 12 Stones son jóvenes en edad, suenan bastante compactos en su composición y habilidad técnica y exhiben cierta madurez que los podría proyectar. El debut del grupo es agresivo, pero tiene melodía que engancha y no volvamos a mencionar que los chicos tienen menos de 21 años de promedio. Los ganchos, lo cantable y lo que se lleva en el rock ve el nacimiento de grupos como estos. El vocalista tiene Paul McCoy describe Mandeville como una "escena demasiado pequeña para un músico", los típicos lugares en los que hay que graduarse de banda de covers si es que no te quedas ahí toda la vida. 12 Stones estaba decidido a mostrar material original desde el principio. Por lo que pasaron un par de años para que el grupo entrara al circuito más profesional tocando con poco público y grabando un demo que sonara convincente para un ejecutivo discográfico. Llegaron a New York para presentarse en esas audiciones o convenciones lugares en los cuales rondan los caza-talentos. Anécdotas más y engorrosas situaciones hicieron que grupo llegara a firmar con la creciente y sonada hoy en día Wind-Up Records y entonces con buenas espaldas decidieron grabar su debut en Los Angeles, eligiendo a un experimentado productor del nuevo rock; si de modernidad se trataba Jay Baumgardner ya había trabajado con tres grupos como Papa Roach, Drowning Pool y Alient Ant Farm. El productor fue el primer impresionado con la forma y el fondo del sonido de 12 Stones, más allá de su juventud e inexperiencia Jay declaró: "Esta banda va a dar que hablar". Tanto las voces de Paul McCoy, fluctuando entre lo pasivo-agresivo, lo melódico o lo emotivo, complementado con el trabajo de guitarra de Eric Weaver; uno de esos guitarristas que todavía cree en que hay que inyectarles solos de guitarra al new-rock. La temática de la banda tiene aire de rabia, pero no tratan de forzarla sino mostrarla como un estado de ánimo en la juventud norteamericana de hoy. Entre escarbar en lo íntimo se decidieron en la opción de lo emotivo, en que los recuerdos de una crianza dentro de una familia disfuncional podían provocar o inspirar. Letras que hablan de no estar en control de una buena parte de tu vida y el sentimiento de inquietud, siendo doloroso pero haciéndote más fuerte. Y eso 12 Stones lo quiere recrear con música en temas tales como 'Broken', 'Home' o 'The way I Feel'.
