It is seen as a response to the Space Shuttle Columbia disaster, the state of human spaceflight at NASA, and a way to regain public enthusiasm for space exploration. The Vision calls for the space program to: Complete the International Space Station by 2010 Retire the Space Shuttle by 2010 Develop the Orion spacecraft (formerly known as the Crew Exploration Vehicle) by 2008, and conduct its first human spaceflight mission by 2014 Develop Shuttle Derived Launch Vehicles Explore the Moon with robotic spacecraft missions by 2008 and crewed missions by 2020 Explore Mars and other destinations with robotic and crewed missions When the Vision was announced in January 2004, the U.S. Congress and the scientific community gave it a mix of positive and negative reviews. A sci fi movie directed by Duncan Jones depicts a story of a lonely Moon worker: Sam Bell (Sam Rockwell) contracted to work for three years on a Moon base. Two weeks before his trip back home he discovers someone else on the Moon, someone who looks exactly like him. Sam Bell starts to lose his mind as he cannot understand any of this. I highly recommend watching this movie, it's a sci-fi piece which is something we've been waiting for a long time. A fascinating story of a lonely worker cut off from his family for 3 years just to support them. His final days on the Moon mining base turn into a maelstrom of confusion and questioning himself as he discovers someone who looks exactly like him.Clint Mansell's music score represents the movie beautifully. If you're looking for a movie which will blind you with CGI, you're in the wrong place. The other astronaut, John Young, walks casually through the background on his way to the lunar rover. Duke says the rock is the size of a football. Of course he means an American football. A Rugby football is much larger than this. Duke originally estimates the weight to be about 40lb. However, due to lunar gravity, he revises that to 20lb. John Young doesn't get involved. Two weeks before his trip back home he discovers someone else on the Moon, someone who looks exactly like him. Sam Bell starts to lose his mind as he cannot understand any of this. I highly recommend watching this movie, it's a sci-fi piece which is something we've been waiting for a long time. A fascinating story of a lonely worker cut off from his family for 3 years just to support them. His final days on the Moon mining base turn into a maelstrom of confusion and questioning himself as he discovers someone who looks exactly like him.Clint Mansell's music score represents the movie beautifully. If you're looking for a movie which will blind you with CGI, you're in the wrong place. [View \| Download]	Apollo 4 By Gordouxx This is the famous NASA footage filmed during the Saturn V staging (filmed from the second stage). Apollo 4 was the first launch of the Saturn 5 moon rocket. The footage is usually attributed to Apollo 8, or Apollo 11. Some of this sequence was incorporated into the opening titles of Star Trek 'Enterprise'. Hopefully this footage will inspire President Barack Obama to increase NASA's budget.
