Message about the tuning: The guitar used on this video was tuned in the usual,conventional and standard way of tuning a guitar however for the sake of music theory and to fellow guitarists who are interested here are the details. The standard (E,A,D,G,B,E) tuning was just dropped to a low C# to end up with an open string tuning of (C#,F#,B,E,G#,C#) then a capo was applied on the fourth fret of the guitar to eventually end up with a final open string tuning of(F,Bb,D#,G#,C,F). Note: This video was sort of a jam thing, it was recorded live and on the spot so a thorough sound check and tuning was not done on the guitar that was played here prior to recording that's why some strings are just a little out of tune, hope you bear with it. Just something to relax. 7.here is a nice melody from steely dan. just for a contrast. 8.some melodic improvising on my white Steve Vai "jem" -first in the style of Tony Mcalpine -then some rock "Blues" very simple stuff 9.one again a nice little melody 10.a melody over a key changing chord progression. Here i play a lot with the whammy bar 11.this melody i really love.It's played against a John Petrucci chord progression.once again very simple 12.some speedy metal jamming. Normally when i pick up the guitar i sound like this ( check the mind boggeling hyperspeed guitar video) "Salute to my beloved John petrucci guitar" All those melodys created on the spot. when i found a nice backing track ,i put on the camera and started working. so: be creative and spontanous. challenge yourself and keep it simple!! good luck and all the best!
