Lakhon Mein Aik (Best of Noor Jehan Series) Chalo Acha Hua By lovehumanity I asked one of my good friend from India about 10 best songs of Noor Jehan which she sang in Pakistan..and to my very surprise he wasnt aware of 7 out of 10. This has put me in a fix. Now i have to upload some of my favourite (and mostly popular) songs from the Melody Queen for all my friends from India who havnt heard them..to givve them an idea of how great a place she achieved after she left India.. I wud like to say a bit about Sultan Arshad sahab. Sultan sahab is counted in those very few tv hosts, comperes and research persons who prefer to silently work in back ground..without making much noise :) He is not only a cine-critic of Pak cinema but also had a tremendous knowledge of India as well as pre-partition music. His services for music promotion are widespread on various tv channels and he has a major role in grooming young musical talent of the country. And above all he possesses a decent, polite n sober personality : a proud friend to have. Enjoy the glimpse from the tribute he arranged for us on this 8th Death Anniversary of Noor Jehan. Also worth-mention is the great control of Nafees Sahab on Sitar as you'll notice too. He is a veteran in this field and has served on numerous occasions to entertain us and he definitely has a great knowledge of Ragas too. Another refined personality to have in friends list. In a career spanning five decades, his repertoire extended to 25,000 songs in various regional languages, including memorable hits like Chalo ek baar phir se Ajnabi ban jayen hum dono (Gumrah), Neele gagan ke taale (Hamraaz), and in various language, but he became synonymous with patriotic songs, with Mere Desh Ki Dharthi', in Manoj Kumars film Upkaar. He sang many hit songs of yesteryears, and the most notable ones being those for B.R. Amazing perfromances especially by Madam Shamim Ara, the photography and above all the direction by Raza Mir. Lakhon Main Aik had Shamim Ara and Ijaz in the lead with Agha Talish, Saqi and Mustafa Queshi. The Bollywood film "Henna" was inspired by Lakhon Main Aik. A truly outstanding film which makes you proud of Pakistani cinema. This song is in the voice of Madam Noor Jehan and Mujeeb Alam.
