Under Dr. Abdus-Samie, Nouman developed a keen methodical understanding of Arabic grammar. He further benefited from Dr. Abdus-Samie by internalizing his unique teaching methods and later translating his work into English for the benefit of his own students. Nouman served as professor of Arabic at Nassau Community College until '06 and has taught Modern Standard and Classical Arabic at various venues for nearly 7 years with over 10,000 students nationwide. Al-Mabhouh was assassinated in the Al Bustan Rotana Hotel in Dubai on January 19, 2010, having arrived in the country earlier that day from Syria. It is suspected by Dubai police that he was murdered in his hotel room, with accounts of the cause of death ranging from suffocation to electrocution. A controversy over the murder has arisen over evidence indicating that his death was possibly an Israeli government-sanctioned assassination.[3] The Sunday Times reports that al-Mabhouh was tracked since January 19, 2010, on his 10:05 a.m. departure from Damascus, Syria to Dubai on Emirates Flight 912.[10] While it states that he traveled under a false passport,[10] Hamas and Dubai officials maintain that al-Mabhouh entered the country under his own identity[11] at 3:15 p.m.[2] Normally al-Mabhouh would have been protected by bodyguards, but their arrival was delayed because the plane was full.[12] Al-Mabhouh took a taxi to the Al Bustan Rotana hotel and settled into room 230.[13] He had asked for a room with no balcony and sealed windows, so no one could enter other than through the door. He showered, changed, left documents in the safe, and then exited the hotel between 4:30 and 5 p.m, roughly an hour having passed since first checking in.[8] What he did during the next three to four hours is unclear, with one report saying he went to Dubai's Iranian consulate for a meeting,[14] and another stating he met with "people from his own group".[15] At approximately 8:25 p.m. Al-Mabhouh came back to the room,[13] and subsequently failed to answer a call from his wife a half hour later.[8] According to Dubai police, he was dead by 9 p.m. that evening.[2] On January 20, the following day, his body was found in his hotel room.[16][10] After al-Mabhouh's death, his remains were subsequently moved to Damascus for burial. Several causes of death have been put forth by various parties. Police have said that results from their preliminary forensic report found that he was first paralyzed via electric shock and then suffocated, though their investigation and final report on the matter will not be ready for a month.[2] The Khaleej Times quoted an unnamed senior police official as saying that four masked assailants had shocked al-Mabhouh's legs before using a pillow to suffocate him.[17] Another story reported by Uzi Mahnaimi stated that a hit team killed al-Mabhouh with a heart-attack inducing drug, then proceeded to take photographs of his documents before leaving.[10] A medical team also stated that they found signs of strangulation. Blood samples were sent to a French laboratory that confirmed he died from electrocution. [View \| Download]	Destiny's Child I've often heard the people of Gaza called "terrorists". It is the remit of the ignorant and lazy. This short film was made the day after the leader of the Islamic militant group, Hamas, was assassinated in Gaza in April of 2004. The idea was to murder a murderer, to exterminate a terrorist. What it did was create a whole new generation of 'terrorists'. Abdul Aziz al-Rantisi was known to me for nearly two years while I worked in Israel and the Occupied Territories. He was a paediatrician and a skilled leader, passionate about the plight of the people he lived with in one of the most over-populated strips of land in the world. >>No Chance<< The day after Rantissi was killed by an Apache helicopter I went to Gaza to report the events on the ground. The film you see was taken not from my cameraman's rushes but from my own mini-DV. It focuses on a six-year-old boy I met at Rantissi's graveside. He was carrying the flag of Hamas, and was chanting a song about his devotion to Rantissi and his willingness to become a shahid or martyr. He didn't look like a terrorist to me but he was growing up in a land under occupation. There are a lot of little terrorists in the Occupied Territories. Destiny's Child flies in the face of all who would automatically dub Palestinians 'terrorists'. It is my fervant belief that the children of Palestine are politicised almost as soon as they are old enough to speak. How could they not be? The constant presence of the Israeli military, coupled with the unrelenting cycle of despair is a breeding ground for young aspirants who see martyrdom as a glorious ascension. For every Palestinian killed there seem to be hundreds more willing to take their place. This boy is but a single reminder of the reality of life for children growing up in an occupation where martyrdom is a natural way-of-life and, ultimately, death. Hamas and other groups make it their business to ensure these children grow up with a romantic vision of what it is to lay down your life for your people and your country. Israel's occupation ensures Hamas stays in business. Throughout this film children are shown pelting Israeli tanks with stones while shouting "Allah Akhbar" (God is Great). You will hear gun shots fired at the children by Israeli soldiers who watch them through high powered binoculars. Three children were killed on the sand dunes where I filmed these scenes. All shot in either the head or neck by highly trained Israeli snipers in armoured personnel vehicles, simply for throwing stones. The Israeli army says the children are a "danger to personnel operating in the region". He continued Arabic grammar study in Pakistan, where he received a scholarship for ranking among the top 10 scores in the national Arabic studies board examinations in 1993. But his serious training in Arabic began in the United States in 1999 under Dr. Abdus-Samie, founder and formal principal of Quran College, Faisalabad, Pakistan who happened to be touring the US for intensive lectures in Tafsir and Arabic studies. Under Dr. Abdus-Samie, Nouman developed a keen methodical understanding of Arabic grammar. He further benefited from Dr. Abdus-Samie by internalizing his unique teaching methods and later translating his work into English for the benefit of his own students. Nouman served as professor of Arabic at Nassau Community College until '06 and has taught Modern Standard and Classical Arabic at various venues for nearly 7 years with over 10,000 students nationwide. [View \| Download]	Mossad Operation in Dubai FULL VIDEO HQ - Part 1/3 Mahmoud Abdel Rauf al-Mabhouh (Arabic: محمود عبد الرؤوف المبحوح; February 14, 1960[1] January 19, 2010[2]) was a senior Hamas military commander and one of the founders of the Izz ad-Din al-Qassam Brigades. Al-Mabhouh was assassinated in the Al Bustan Rotana Hotel in Dubai on January 19, 2010, having arrived in the country earlier that day from Syria. It is suspected by Dubai police that he was murdered in his hotel room, with accounts of the cause of death ranging from suffocation to electrocution. A controversy over the murder has arisen over evidence indicating that his death was possibly an Israeli government-sanctioned assassination.[3] The Sunday Times reports that al-Mabhouh was tracked since January 19, 2010, on his 10:05 a.m. departure from Damascus, Syria to Dubai on Emirates Flight 912.[10] While it states that he traveled under a false passport,[10] Hamas and Dubai officials maintain that al-Mabhouh entered the country under his own identity[11] at 3:15 p.m.[2] Normally al-Mabhouh would have been protected by bodyguards, but their arrival was delayed because the plane was full.[12] Al-Mabhouh took a taxi to the Al Bustan Rotana hotel and settled into room 230.[13] He had asked for a room with no balcony and sealed windows, so no one could enter other than through the door. He showered, changed, left documents in the safe, and then exited the hotel between 4:30 and 5 p.m, roughly an hour having passed since first checking in.[8] What he did during the next three to four hours is unclear, with one report saying he went to Dubai's Iranian consulate for a meeting,[14] and another stating he met with "people from his own group".[15] At approximately 8:25 p.m. Al-Mabhouh came back to the room,[13] and subsequently failed to answer a call from his wife a half hour later.[8] According to Dubai police, he was dead by 9 p.m. that evening.[2] On January 20, the following day, his body was found in his hotel room.[16][10] After al-Mabhouh's death, his remains were subsequently moved to Damascus for burial. Several causes of death have been put forth by various parties. Police have said that results from their preliminary forensic report found that he was first paralyzed via electric shock and then suffocated, though their investigation and final report on the matter will not be ready for a month.[2] The Khaleej Times quoted an unnamed senior police official as saying that four masked assailants had shocked al-Mabhouh's legs before using a pillow to suffocate him.[17] Another story reported by Uzi Mahnaimi stated that a hit team killed al-Mabhouh with a heart-attack inducing drug, then proceeded to take photographs of his documents before leaving.[10] A medical team also stated that they found signs of strangulation. Blood samples were sent to a French laboratory that confirmed he died from electrocution. This short film was made the day after the leader of the Islamic militant group, Hamas, was assassinated in Gaza in April of 2004. The idea was to murder a murderer, to exterminate a terrorist. What it did was create a whole new generation of 'terrorists'. Abdul Aziz al-Rantisi was known to me for nearly two years while I worked in Israel and the Occupied Territories. He was a paediatrician and a skilled leader, passionate about the plight of the people he lived with in one of the most over-populated strips of land in the world. >>No Chance<< The day after Rantissi was killed by an Apache helicopter I went to Gaza to report the events on the ground. The film you see was taken not from my cameraman's rushes but from my own mini-DV. It focuses on a six-year-old boy I met at Rantissi's graveside. He was carrying the flag of Hamas, and was chanting a song about his devotion to Rantissi and his willingness to become a shahid or martyr. He didn't look like a terrorist to me but he was growing up in a land under occupation. There are a lot of little terrorists in the Occupied Territories. Destiny's Child flies in the face of all who would automatically dub Palestinians 'terrorists'. It is my fervant belief that the children of Palestine are politicised almost as soon as they are old enough to speak. How could they not be? The constant presence of the Israeli military, coupled with the unrelenting cycle of despair is a breeding ground for young aspirants who see martyrdom as a glorious ascension. For every Palestinian killed there seem to be hundreds more willing to take their place. This boy is but a single reminder of the reality of life for children growing up in an occupation where martyrdom is a natural way-of-life and, ultimately, death. Hamas and other groups make it their business to ensure these children grow up with a romantic vision of what it is to lay down your life for your people and your country. Israel's occupation ensures Hamas stays in business. Throughout this film children are shown pelting Israeli tanks with stones while shouting "Allah Akhbar" (God is Great). You will hear gun shots fired at the children by Israeli soldiers who watch them through high powered binoculars. Three children were killed on the sand dunes where I filmed these scenes. All shot in either the head or neck by highly trained Israeli snipers in armoured personnel vehicles, simply for throwing stones. The Israeli army says the children are a "danger to personnel operating in the region".
