The juvenile humpback took on the vessel, "Maka Koa"(MauiDiveShop), as the surrogate mother. The encounter lasted approximately 1 hour before the authorities were called in to assist in the second seperation. [View \| Download]	Humpback Whales Breaching By SealAngel This is an awesome video provided by the Dolphin Fleet whale watching boat of wonderful and uplifting footage of whales breeching (jumping out of the water) off Cape Cod in the North Eastern United States. It is believed whales breach for attracting a mate. But maybe for other reasons such as removing barnacles from their bodies, communication, and intimidation, or to just simply show off and enjoy themselves. For whatever reason they do it, it's incredible and wonderful to watch.
