The notes the Sheikh mentioned: Khadija Al-Kubra Khadija was born 15 years before the year of the Elephant and was married twice before Muhammad [sallallahu alaihi wasallam]. She had two sons from her first marriage and a daughter,named Hind from her second union,hence Khadija was known by the name Umme Hind. She was also known as Thahira,the pure,and her children born before her marriage to the Prophet,accepted Islam and are known as Banu Thahira. Muhammad [alaihis salaam] began working for her in his mid twenties,and could have possibly been referred to her by Nafisa,a mutual friend. After observing his honest and righteous ways,she proposed marriage and they married,he 25 and she nearly 40. She bore him 2 sons,al-Qasim and Abdullah as well as his daughters who survived to adulthood,Zainab,Ruqaiya,Umme Kulthoom and Fathima tuz Zahra. She passed away on the 20th of Ramadaan,3 years before the Hijra age 65. Her passing is believed to be just after the family was released from exile in the Vale of Abu Talib,she was buried in the cemetery of Makkah,Jannatul Ma'la. The above is a brief historical view of her life. From a spiritual perspective,Khadija shared many moments in the life of the Messenger that defined the Call to Islam. Her personal position in his life,remained unsurpassed by anyone. The Revelation She was responsible for comforting him upon his return from the cave in the hours after the first revelation. She ultimately believed in him and is considered the first Muslim. Spending in the path of Allah In the initial days of Islam the primary financial burden borne by the Muslims was the freeing of convert Muslim slaves from their tyrant disbelieving masters. Entertaining guests who traveled for the purpose of inquiring about Islam was another expense. Khadija used her wealth generously in both causes. Salaah and Purification In many narrations that feature Jibreel coming to the Messenger and demonstrating prayer and purification,Khadija is in the incident. Though these narrations are not regarding the 5 daily prayer,they refer to prayer in general. "Jibreel came to the Prophet when the prayers were mandated and dug with his heel in a corner of the valley.......the Prophet took Khadija's hand and brought her to the spring and she did wudhu as Jibreel had done wudhu." The Everlasting Love of the Messenger The Prophet throughout his life continued to recollect his days with Khadija. Even objections raised by Aisha did not deter him from often mentioning her and expressing concern for her family and friends. The Dua of the Messenger Before her passing the Messenger gave her the glad tidings of a house of hollowed pearl in Jannah,in which there is no fatigue or clamor. The Prophetic Lineage The bloodline of the Prophet,the descendants of Hasan and Husein[ra] continue today. Their mother is Fathima and off course her mother is Khadija. No other line of the Prophet continues but this one. The night was fun and great tennis was being played. Agassi was playing to the crowd a bit too mcuh in fact. He stole the crowd from everyother player. Maybe he cant handle being out of the spotlight. Pete decides to imitate Andre's famous walk to lighten the mood and to get some attention also. Andre doesnt like it. From that point on he gets personal and airs the dirty laundry. Pete takes offense and tries to nail Andre with a serve. This showed little class on both Andres, and Pete's Part. Pete could have easily talked about Andre throwing away 4 years of his life by doing drugs, but he takes the highroad, so he showed a bit more restraint. The Quality of tennis drops from that point, and the players seem to avoid hitting to Andre whenever possible. In the end, and in typical Sampras fashion, he finds a way to beat Agassi. It was the third major film of the martial arts legend. In addition to directing the film, Bruce Lee has the leading role and is also the script writer. Unlike his other movies, all which are action-dramas, this one is essentially an action comedy. * Bruce Lee as "Tang Lung" (a.k.a. "China Dragon") * Nora Miao as "Chen Ching Hua" * Chuck Norris as "Colt" * Robert Wall as "Fred" * Hwang In-Shik as "Japanese Martial Artist" * Wei Ping-Ao as "Ho" This is the only film in which Chuck Norris plays a villain and the only film in which he is defeated. Tang Lung (Bruce Lee) is sent from Hong Kong to Rome to help his sick friends' niece Miss Chen and some family friends whose restaurant is being targeted by the local gangsters and forcing them to sign a contract which will make the Mafia boss gain control of the property. After their offers to purchase the restaurant are repeatedly turned down, the gangsters resort to intimidation. Tang Lung fends off the local gangsters and gains Miss Chen's interest, who up till now has looked down on Tang for his innocence from his hesitance of putting his savings into a bank to unknowingly going home with a prostitute whilst touring Rome with Miss Chen. The Mafia boss, played by John Benn, sends a gunman but Tang Lung defeats him with his throwing wooden darts and fractures his neck. The Mafia boss then goes to the restaurant himself along with all his gangster thugs to make Miss Chen sign the contract. Tang Lung defeats them all with his fighting skills with help from a Bo Staff and two Nunchakus. He then warns that if the boss comes to threaten his friends once more, he will take drastic actions. After a failed second attempt by the gunman at Miss Chen's apartment, who now sports a neck brace but manages to escape, Tang Lung and his friends goes to save Miss Chen after being kidnapped by the Mafia boss to sign the contract at his headquarters. The Mafia boss then hires foreign martial artists who have trouble communicating with each other, played by Robert Wall and In Sik Whang, to challenge Tang Lung but he defeats them both with help from friends in a countryside near the Colosseum. The final duel takes place between Tang Lung and the best of the foreign martial artists, Colt (Chuck Norris), in the Colosseum itself. Tang Lung kills Colt, but covers his body with Colt's white gi to show his respect and admiration, and the Mafia boss is finally arrested whilst the other villians are killed. Having solved the problem, Tang Lung departs Rome alone. Nos separan más de 70 años desde que el genio de Chaplin rodara una de las escenas más memorables de la historia del cine y lo más extraño de todo es que, en esencia, nada o casi nada ha cambiado. Como si de un viaje en el tiempo se tratara, Chaplin firma una de las locuciones más sentidas y brutales que se recuerden en 1940 aunque bien podría tratarse del 2011. Un homenaje a la vida y una crítica y sátira a la avaricia del ser humano, al poder dictador del hombre. Una película imprescindible que ha dado pie a la construcción de esta pieza visual brillante e inspiradora. The Great Dictator (El Gran Dictador) se estrenó en 1940. Dirigida, escrita y protagonizada por Chaplin, el filme se trataba de la primera película sonora del genio. Una sátira del fascismo que criticaba con dureza la figura de Hitler y su nacionalsocialismo. La película significó para Chaplin su exilio de Estados Unidos perseguido por el Comité de Actividades Antiestadounidenses debido a las ideas que mostraba. Años mas tarde el propio Chaplin diría que de saber el horror de los campos de exterminio no hubiera realizado la película. Con todo, el discurso final es probablemente una de los locuciones más lúcidas y emotivas de la historia del cine. El momento en el que el barbero da el discurso exhortando a la humanidad a dejar de ser robots y a apartar la discriminación entre unos y otros da que pensar. ¿Cuánto hemos cambiado desde entonces? Las imágenes proyectadas en el vídeo dirían que poco de lo que un día vislumbraba Chaplin tras acabar la Primera Guerra Mundial. Os dejo con el discurso entero con una única idea en mente. The notes the Sheikh mentioned: Khadija Al-Kubra Khadija was born 15 years before the year of the Elephant and was married twice before Muhammad [sallallahu alaihi wasallam]. She had two sons from her first marriage and a daughter,named Hind from her second union,hence Khadija was known by the name Umme Hind. She was also known as Thahira,the pure,and her children born before her marriage to the Prophet,accepted Islam and are known as Banu Thahira. Muhammad [alaihis salaam] began working for her in his mid twenties,and could have possibly been referred to her by Nafisa,a mutual friend. After observing his honest and righteous ways,she proposed marriage and they married,he 25 and she nearly 40. She bore him 2 sons,al-Qasim and Abdullah as well as his daughters who survived to adulthood,Zainab,Ruqaiya,Umme Kulthoom and Fathima tuz Zahra. She passed away on the 20th of Ramadaan,3 years before the Hijra age 65. Her passing is believed to be just after the family was released from exile in the Vale of Abu Talib,she was buried in the cemetery of Makkah,Jannatul Ma'la. The above is a brief historical view of her life. From a spiritual perspective,Khadija shared many moments in the life of the Messenger that defined the Call to Islam. Her personal position in his life,remained unsurpassed by anyone. The Revelation She was responsible for comforting him upon his return from the cave in the hours after the first revelation. She ultimately believed in him and is considered the first Muslim. Spending in the path of Allah In the initial days of Islam the primary financial burden borne by the Muslims was the freeing of convert Muslim slaves from their tyrant disbelieving masters. Entertaining guests who traveled for the purpose of inquiring about Islam was another expense. Khadija used her wealth generously in both causes. Salaah and Purification In many narrations that feature Jibreel coming to the Messenger and demonstrating prayer and purification,Khadija is in the incident. Though these narrations are not regarding the 5 daily prayer,they refer to prayer in general. "Jibreel came to the Prophet when the prayers were mandated and dug with his heel in a corner of the valley.......the Prophet took Khadija's hand and brought her to the spring and she did wudhu as Jibreel had done wudhu." The Everlasting Love of the Messenger The Prophet throughout his life continued to recollect his days with Khadija. Even objections raised by Aisha did not deter him from often mentioning her and expressing concern for her family and friends. The Dua of the Messenger Before her passing the Messenger gave her the glad tidings of a house of hollowed pearl in Jannah,in which there is no fatigue or clamor. The Prophetic Lineage The bloodline of the Prophet,the descendants of Hasan and Husein[ra] continue today. Their mother is Fathima and off course her mother is Khadija. No other line of the Prophet continues but this one. Maybe he cant handle being out of the spotlight. Pete decides to imitate Andre's famous walk to lighten the mood and to get some attention also. Andre doesnt like it. From that point on he gets personal and airs the dirty laundry. Pete takes offense and tries to nail Andre with a serve. This showed little class on both Andres, and Pete's Part. Pete could have easily talked about Andre throwing away 4 years of his life by doing drugs, but he takes the highroad, so he showed a bit more restraint. The Quality of tennis drops from that point, and the players seem to avoid hitting to Andre whenever possible. In the end, and in typical Sampras fashion, he finds a way to beat Agassi. After their offers to purchase the restaurant are repeatedly turned down, the gangsters resort to intimidation. Tang Lung fends off the local gangsters and gains Miss Chen's interest, who up till now has looked down on Tang for his innocence from his hesitance of putting his savings into a bank to unknowingly going home with a prostitute whilst touring Rome with Miss Chen. The Mafia boss, played by John Benn, sends a gunman but Tang Lung defeats him with his throwing wooden darts and fractures his neck. The Mafia boss then goes to the restaurant himself along with all his gangster thugs to make Miss Chen sign the contract. Tang Lung defeats them all with his fighting skills with help from a Bo Staff and two Nunchakus. He then warns that if the boss comes to threaten his friends once more, he will take drastic actions. After a failed second attempt by the gunman at Miss Chen's apartment, who now sports a neck brace but manages to escape, Tang Lung and his friends goes to save Miss Chen after being kidnapped by the Mafia boss to sign the contract at his headquarters. The Mafia boss then hires foreign martial artists who have trouble communicating with each other, played by Robert Wall and In Sik Whang, to challenge Tang Lung but he defeats them both with help from friends in a countryside near the Colosseum. The final duel takes place between Tang Lung and the best of the foreign martial artists, Colt (Chuck Norris), in the Colosseum itself. Tang Lung kills Colt, but covers his body with Colt's white gi to show his respect and admiration, and the Mafia boss is finally arrested whilst the other villians are killed. Having solved the problem, Tang Lung departs Rome alone. Nos separan más de 70 años desde que el genio de Chaplin rodara una de las escenas más memorables de la historia del cine y lo más extraño de todo es que, en esencia, nada o casi nada ha cambiado. Como si de un viaje en el tiempo se tratara, Chaplin firma una de las locuciones más sentidas y brutales que se recuerden en 1940 aunque bien podría tratarse del 2011. Un homenaje a la vida y una crítica y sátira a la avaricia del ser humano, al poder dictador del hombre. Una película imprescindible que ha dado pie a la construcción de esta pieza visual brillante e inspiradora. The Great Dictator (El Gran Dictador) se estrenó en 1940. Dirigida, escrita y protagonizada por Chaplin, el filme se trataba de la primera película sonora del genio. Una sátira del fascismo que criticaba con dureza la figura de Hitler y su nacionalsocialismo. La película significó para Chaplin su exilio de Estados Unidos perseguido por el Comité de Actividades Antiestadounidenses debido a las ideas que mostraba. Años mas tarde el propio Chaplin diría que de saber el horror de los campos de exterminio no hubiera realizado la película. Con todo, el discurso final es probablemente una de los locuciones más lúcidas y emotivas de la historia del cine. El momento en el que el barbero da el discurso exhortando a la humanidad a dejar de ser robots y a apartar la discriminación entre unos y otros da que pensar. ¿Cuánto hemos cambiado desde entonces? Las imágenes proyectadas en el vídeo dirían que poco de lo que un día vislumbraba Chaplin tras acabar la Primera Guerra Mundial. Os dejo con el discurso entero con una única idea en mente. Aunque supongo que todos queremos cambiar a un mundo mejor, ¿cuánto hacemos por ello?
