It was to be the only concert by Queen that was ever shot on film. Always a great live band, with arguably the greatest frontman of all time in Freddie Mercury, they excelled themselves with the cameras rolling. The picture has been digitally restored from the original film and the sound has been newly mixed and mastered for DTS Surround Sound and PCM Stereo from the original multitrack tapes. Following their record-breaking South American tour, the Montreal shows on 24 and 25 November 1981 were to be the only concerts by Queen ever shot on film - indeed they were the first group to shoot an entire show in full cinema format 35mm. These releases offer the best ever sound and picture quality on a Queen concert release. Always a great live band, with two years non-stop touring behind them and Freddie Mercury in front of them, Queen excelled themselves with the cameras rolling. The footage has been digitally restored from the original film and the sound has been newly mixed and mastered for DTS Surround Sound and PCM Stereo from the original multi-track tapes. "Hello Montreal...long time no see. You wanna get crazy?" asks Freddie as the band tear into their alternative 'fast' version of We Will Rock You, and from there on Queen show their hard rock roots, slowing down only for Love of My Life and the more mid-tempo Under Pressure, notably being performed live for the first time in this concert. Originally titled, "We Will Rock You", this film was first launched at the Cannes Film Festival in May 1983 - as only Queen could. It was then released in North America (September 1984), becoming the first commercially available film of Queen in concert. For this special edition, the picture has been digitally restored from the original 35mm negative. The double disc release offers the incredible bonus of a slew of Live Aid features and performances. Regularly polled as the greatest live performance of all time, Queen's mighty Live Aid show at 6.44pm on July 13, 1985, is here in full. In addition to the set that reinforced Queen's position as unrivalled rock entertainers, Freddie and Brian's performance later in the evening of the poignant "Is This The World We Created" is included. Also featured are 11 minutes of never before seen Live Aid rehearsal footage, plus a rehearsal interview with the band. In addition, there's the curiosity value of a 1982 news feature from US TV series PM Magazine. Brian May and Roger Taylor bring the story up to date with a brand new audio commentary on the Montreal concert. Both these releases offer extraordinary footage of one if the greatest acts of all time, recorded at the height of the powers. Truly, Rock royalty. The first from July 1991 was filmed a few months before the release of her "Little Earthquakes" album and the second from July 1992 followed a few months after. There is a fascinating progression from one year to the next as she grows in confidence and skill as a live performer, buoyed by the critical and commercial success of the album. Naturally most of the songs are taken from "Little Earthquakes" but there are also rare songs from her various EPs released across the two years which didn't make it onto the album including her distinctive takes on Led Zeppelin's "Whole Lotta Love" and "Thank You" and Nirvana's "Smells Like Teen Spirit". Born in Belfast he moved to Dublin in the late 60s joined a band called Skid Row and met Phil Lynott, who shortly after left to form Thin Lizzy. Moore stayed with Skid Row for three albums before joining Lynott briefly in Thin Lizzy. He then joined Colosseum II (which also featured Don Airey on keyboards) before going solo and having a huge hit with Parisenne Walkways, which featured Lynott on vocals. This lead to a further short stint in Thin Lizzy, including their classic album Black Rose. This track is from the full concert DVD "Live At Montreux 1990", out now on Eagle Vision. The band spent a couple of years gigging around the local club circuit, putting out an EP and their eponymous debut full-lenght disc on their own Que-so Records. After relocating to Denton, Texas, the group issued "Rock On Honorable Ones!!", in 1997, on local FFROE label. Two years later Bowling For Soup recorded "Let's Do It For Johnny!!", which was offered initially through the Denton-based label; the set included some early tracks, new material, the cover of Bryan Adams' "Summer Of '69" and "The Bitch Song", which got some local radio buzz and helped the band eventually land a deal with Jive Records. August 2002 saw the release of their fourth album, "Drunk Enough To Dance", the record shot to #2 on Billboard's Top Heatseekers list and pierced The Billboard 200 Albums chart driven by the single "Girl All The Bad Guys Want" which debuted at #64 on The Billboard Hot 100 and cracked the top 40 of The Modern Rock Tracks; in the U.K. this single was a smash, hitting #8 on the Official Pop chart and helped push the CD into the U.K. Top 20 Albums chart. Bowling For Soup returned in September of 2004 with "A Hangover You Don't Deserve", it rose to the #37 position on The Billboard Top 200 Albums chart while the main single, "1985", peaked at #23 on The Billboard Hot 100; the second single, "Almost", also hit the top 40 and was closely followed by the minor hit "Ohio (Come Back To Texas)" The sixth full-length disc from the Texan quartet, "The Great Burrito Extortion Case", was released in November 2006; it peaked at #88 on The Billboard 200 but quickly disappeared from chart. 'Golden Voice' homeless man finds job, home after viral video success Ted Williams, a homeless US man with a deep, refined voice has become an overnight online sensation after being "discovered" by a local reporter on a street corner in Columbus, Ohio. The 53 year-old has now been offered a job by the NBA's Cleveland Cavaliers and is being pursued by NFL Films for possible work. Williams said the team had offered him a two-year contract and said they would pay his living expenses. Williams was recently living in a tent and whose past includes a lengthy list of arrests. He has served time in prison for theft and forgery and has been cited with numerous misdemeanours, including drug abuse. In New York, Williams' mother Julia was thrilled her only child was turning his life around.
