He managed to combine elements of folk, rock 'n' roll and country, which together with his distinctive voice and guitar style, created an instantly recognisable sound. 1994 was to prove to be Cash's only appearance at the Montreux Festival. Richie Havens Freedom Woodstock 1969 By antogrimes85 The Woodstock Music and Art Fair was a historic event held at Max Yasgur's 600 acre (2.4 km²; 240 ha) dairy farm in the rural town of Bethel, New York from August 15 to August 18, 1969. Bethel (Sullivan County) is 43 miles (69 km) southwest of the town of Woodstock, New York, which is in adjoining Ulster County. To many, the festival exemplified the counterculture of the 1960s and the "hippie era." Thirty-two of the best-known musicians of the day appeared during the sometimes rainy weekend. Although attempts have been made over the years to recreate the festival, the original event has proven to be unique and legendary. It is widely regarded as one of the greatest moments in music history and was listed on Rolling Stone's 50 Moments That Changed the History of Rock and Roll. The event was captured in a successful 1970 movie, Woodstock, and Joni Mitchell's song "Woodstock", which memorialized the event and became a major hit for Crosby, Stills, Nash & Young. The album is dazzling, lively and heartfelt and allows them to develop further their alternative background and to push their music forward. With 10 ans ferme! Los Tres Puntos reach a level of musical maturity, which permits them to offer a subtle palette of sounds combining ska and indie rock, with shades of Berurier Noir, La Mano Negra, The Specials and The Clash.
