Equipped: - Jumper - Hyper Dash Copying and pasting description from the old video: Gate has a fairly simple attack pattern, yet the attacks themselves are difficult to avoid. He is invulnerable to any damage received by X or Zero. The only way to damage him is to destroy his energy ball attacks. These balls will explode into 6 smaller energy balls that fly in a semi-horizontal direction, hopefully getting a hit on Gate. The problem with this is that you'll end up getting hit yourself unless the attack hits Gate first. Gate will only move onto your position, no where else. He will then proceed to either perform an attack or repeat this movement. His energy balls will always be shot onto your position. His attacks: - Light-Blue Energy Ball: This acts as a vacuum, sucking you in towards it. Potentially dangerous if you're on a wall, since you can easily fall into the pit. I would recommend destroying this immediately. - Purple Energy Ball: This one spawns Nightmares that chase after you. Takes awhile before the first one spawns though so you don't have to take it down right away. - Green Energy Ball: This one slowly homes into your position. Somewhat of a threat. - Orange Energy Ball: This one shoots little orange bullets at you, so it's best to destroy this quickly. - Red Energy Ball: This one is dangerous. It causes you to slowdown while Gate moves at a normal pace. Not only that, your controls will be unresponsive. Once the effect starts, you'll have a hard time destroying the red energy ball and it'll be hard to recover if Gate knocks you off a platform or wall. Destroy this immediately! From most dangerous to least threatening: 1. Red 2. Light-Blue 3. Orange 4. Green 5. Purple - Desperation: Energy Blast Gate will shoot a narrow blast of energy in front of him that covers a considerable height of the room. This is capable of destroying the platforms situated around the room. Not much of a threat since the platforms regenerate fairly quickly.
