John Petrucci 's tone / Zoom G2.1U patch By d4agreg Check out : http://www.Zoomfx.com http://www.youtube.com/samsontech At least, this one has been requested ! :-) I like John Petrucci's tone a lot ( and especially the Rhythm tone ! ) and had a good time re-creating it and covering the beginning of this song ! My 7-string is a LTD SC207, so the overall lead tone might sound a bit more aggressive than what John gets out of his Musicman, so if you use this patch, you' ll have to adjust trebles according to your guitar ! ZZ Top - La Grange Cover By gewerh44 This is my cover of a classic tune. Maybe the most well-known song by ZZ Top. La Grange was included in "Tres Hombres" album (1973). The album version was originally played with a 1955 Fender Stratocaster. So I decided to use my mexican Fender Stratocaster standard model (1992). Had a few drinks and decided to record it, after all, I was in the right mood to play the song ;) This cover is based on the original album version, I just added a couple of very noticable details (slidings, one strum at the end of the clean part after the solo, the very end). I decided to put the video as it is, not a lot of editing or visual effects, just rough as it is. I hope you like my video! The original song has 2 rhythm guitars playing during the song (during the clean parts just one of them is playing). Billy Gibbons recorded the solo and outro later, so when the solo or outro is playing there are three guitars playing (2 rhythm and 1 soloing). Recording the solos later when the song is ready is something that most bands do. I found a couple of backing tracks, and mixed them to get a single backing track that has drums, bass, vocals and one rhythm guitar, so I just have to play lead guitar including solo and outro, everything in a single line. I hope you like my arrangement. Maybe its not necessary to say I had a lot of fun recording this one xD thanks for watching! ---------------------------------------- --------- As usual, I used my Zoom G2.1u effects pedal, so these are the settings for the patch I made for this cover. Since I've Been Loving You - Cover By gewerh44 I made my first cover of this song on july 2008. But some stupid corporation erased it on february 8th 2009 cuz I used the original song as backing in my video. So this is my new version, this time using a FREE backing track. Its not an easy song to cover, it has a lot of details, I had to practice it again note for note to get ready for this new cover. This is my favourite song ever. Since Ive Been Loving You was included in Led Zeppelin 3 (1970). And it contains one of the best guitar solos. The feeling that jimmy page put into this solo is just impossible to copy. When the band was recording this song, its interesting that Jimmy Page just couldnt find the right tone for this solo, and he was so frustrated trying different amps and settings, and nothing would make him happy. At the end, he saw an unpplugged and forgotten amp in the studio... He played one of the best solos ever using that dusty amp (too bad he didnt say what amp was that).
