La pellicola 'Un sacco bello' girata ed interpretata nel 1980 da Carlo Verdone, rappresenta il fulminante esordio registico (con il supporto di Sergio Leone) del grande attore-regista romano. All'epoca Verdone era un comico TV lanciato dal programma Rai 'No-stop' in cui interpretava alcuni divertenti personaggi 'macchietta'. Questo suo primo film non è nient'altro che una magnifica galleria di personaggi estrapolati appunto dalla televisione. Anche a distanza di decenni 'Un sacco bello' mantiene comunque inalterata tutta la sua freschezza. Questi personaggi sono ormai entrati di diritto nella memoria collettiva di tutti gli amanti e non di Carlo Verdone. Simpatici, perdenti, mammoni, pignoli e logorroici, tutti resi alla perfezione da un Verdone anni '80 straordinario, dotato di una grande mimica facciale unita ad un favoloso talento trasformista. Oltre ai tre protagonisti principali Verdone interpreta anche: il prete don Alfio, il professore, ed Anselmo, l'antesignano di Furio di 'Bianco rosso e Verdone'. In questa magnifica commedia agrodolce siamo di fronte ad una grande satira e gag sparate a raffica, il tutto alternato a momenti amari e riflessivi, con un indimenticabile cameo del grandissimo Mario Brega, uno dei migliori attori-caratteristi mai apparsi nei film di Verdone e nel cinema italiano.
