ASHINGTON : Ia mungkin melucukan dan dianggap tidak masuk akal tetapi pegawai kesihatan persekutuan Amerika Syarikat (AS) dijangka segera mengeluarkan laporan yang memberi amaran kepada umum mengenai faedah kentut. "Kentut, jika kerap dihidu boleh menyembuhkan perbagai penyakit berbahaya seperti sakit kepala, gangguan pada mata, emfisema, lelah, bronkitis sakit jantung dan lain lain. "Setiap tahun, kira-kira 130,000 rakyat AS telah pulih daripada perbagai penyakit disebabkan menghidu kentut dan ramai lagi berasa lega daripada penyakit serius kerana terlalu lama terdedah kepada keadaan itu," kata seorang doktor yang bertugas dengan Pusat Kawalan Penyakit (CDC) AS. Katanya, orang ramai mesti menyedari menghidu kentut sebenarnya menabah khasiat untuk kesihatan orang lain. Menurut laporan yang akan dikeluarkan CDC, setiap tahun kentut mempulihkan 800 kes serangan jantung, 250 kes angin ahmar,30,000 lelah dan 50,000 kes sakit telinga. Disebabkan masalah makanan tidak teratur, kini ramai rakyat Amerika menghidap kembung perut. Menurut laporan itu, purata penduduk AS kentut 14 hingga 23 kali sehari.
