Biblia El Arca de Noé By 11122008a La historia del Arca de Noé, según los capítulos 3 al 6 del libro del Génesis, comienza como sigue: Ángeles del séquito de Yahvéh Elohim observan que las hijas de los hombres se están multiplicando sobre la faz de la Tierra y comienzan a sentir atracción por ellas, así bajan del Cielo, las seducen y tienen relaciones con ellas, fruto de las cuales nacen seres extraordinariamente grandes conocidos como los Nefilim (que en idioma hebreo significa «los caídos», obviamente llamados así en alusión a sus padres), Yahweh se entera de esto, se enoja y expulsa a los angeles "que no guardaron su condición original" de su morada, pero además de esto planea destruir a los nefilim, pues éstos habían corrompido a la raza humana, y por su culpa "la Tierra estaba llena de violencia". Así que Elohim exclama: "No habitarán mis espíritus con los hombres para siempre, pues èstos también son carne (o por el contexto "se volvieron carne"). Así, la vida de éstos tendrá que ser 120 años" Sin embargo, encontró a un buen hombre que halló gracia ante sus ojos, Noé. «Un hombre justo y cabal entre la gente de su tiempo», y decidió que a él le correspondería mantener el linaje de los hombres. Yahweh dijo a Noé que construyera un arca, y que llevara con él a su esposa, a sus hijos Sem, Cam y Jafet, y a las esposas de éstos. Adicionalmente, tenía que llevar de todos los animales: de los puros debía tomar siete parejas y de los impuros una sola pareja (un macho y una hembra), y para suministrarles alimentos, le dijo que tomara y almacenara la comida necesaria. Cuando Noé completó el arca, entraron él, su familia y todos los animales. «Aquel día fueron rotas todas las fuentes, y las cataratas del cielo se abrieron, y hubo lluvia sobre la tierra cuarenta días y cuarenta noches». El diluvio cubrió hasta las montañas más altas. y todas las criaturas de la Tierra murieron; sólo Noé y los que estaban con él en el arca sobrevivieron. Finalmente, después de muchos días, el arca se asentó en el monte Ararat, y las aguas retrocedieron por algunos días hasta que emergieron las cimas de las montañas. Entonces Noé envió a un cuervo que «salió, y estuvo yendo y volviendo hasta que las aguas se secaron sobre la tierra». Luego Noé envió una paloma, que regresó porque no tuvo donde posarse. Noé envió de nuevo a la paloma y regresó con una hoja de olivo en su pico, y entonces supo que las aguas se habían retirado. Noé esperó siete días más y envió a la paloma una vez más, y esta vez el ave no regresó. Pero tuvo que esperar unos días mas, entonces él y su familia y los animales salieron del Arca, y Noé ofreció un sacrificio a Yahweh, y este decidió que nunca volvería a maldecir a la Tierra debido al hombre, y que no volvería a destruir toda la vida en ella. Para recordar esta promesa, Yahweh puso un arcoiris en las nubes y dijo, Y sucederá que cuando haga venir nubes sobre la tierra, se dejará ver entonces mi arco en las nubes, y lo veré, y me acordaré del pacto perpetuo entre Dios y todo ser viviente, de todo tipo sobre la Tierra".
