SDRs are now based on four currencies — the US dollar, the Japanese yen, the euro and the British pound. They are used largely as a unit of account by the IMF and other international organizations. Declaring that "Indonesia is a part of me," President Obama today offered personal reflections of the place that "shaped his childhood" and the place that he, as president, hopes will now help shape the Muslim world with their example of democracy, development and pluralism. Drawing up images of his youth spent living in Jakarta -- from "flying kites, running along paddy fields, catching dragonflies and buying satay and baso from street vendors" -- the President stuck a nostalgic tone, remembering the spirit of the people he said helped him learn to love the country. "As a young boy, I was coming to a different world. But the people of Indonesia quickly made me feel at home," Obama said from the University of Indonesia this morning, "The old men and women who welcomed us with smiles; the children who made a foreigner feel like a neighbor; and the teachers who helped me learn about the wider world: The president moved to Jakarta in 1967 then only 6 years-old from Hawaii when his mother married an Indonesian man name Lolo Soetoro. He spent for years in Jakarta living in a small house with a mango tree out front, before ultimately moving back to Hawaii. "So much has changed in the four decades since I boarded a plane to move back to Hawaii. If you asked me -- or any of my schoolmates who knew me back then -- I don't think any of us could have anticipated that I would one day come back to Jakarta as President of the United States." As president, Mr. Obama came today to Indonesia to highlight the country's embrace of democracy and pluralism meant to reach far beyond just the 6,000 who filled the audience today. The White House live-streamed the speech on their website and translated it into languages ranging from Arbaic to Urdu. Embracing those these values, he was saying to other Muslim countries, and you too can prosper "Development is strengthened by an emerging democracy. Ancient traditions endure, even as a rising power is on the move." Gone, he said, are the fields he and friends used to run though with water buffalo and goats. "A new generation of Indonesians is among the most wired in the world -- connected through cell phones and social networks. And while Indonesia as a young nation focused inward, a growing Indonesia now plays a key role in the Asia Pacific and the global economy." Similarly he held Indonesia up as an emerging democracy charting its own course, "from the rule of an iron fist to the rule of the people." That was not to say, the president acknowledged -- perhaps with a nod towards last week's elections in the United States -- that he always likes what democracy delivers. "Of course, democracy is messy. Not everyone likes the results of every election. You go through ups and downs. But the journey is worthwhile, and it goes beyond casting a ballot." Earlier in the day Mr. Obama visited the Istiqlal mosque a house of worship for Muslims that he noted was designed by a Christian architect. His stepfather was "raised a Muslim," yet President Obama said that he believes that all religions were worthy of respect, similar to Indonesia being defined by more than its Muslim population. "Such is Indonesia's spirit," Obama said, "an archipelago that contains some of God's most beautiful creations, islands rising above an ocean named for peace, people choose to worship God as they please. Islam flourishes, but so do other faiths." Echoing themes to the Muslim world in his Cairo address last year, the president said that his priority since becoming president has been the frayed relations between the Muslim community and the United States. "In the 17 months that have passed we have made some progress, but much more work remains to be done. Innocent civilians in America, Indonesia, and across the world are still targeted by violent extremists. I have made it clear that America is not, and never will be, at war with Islam. Instead, all of us must defeat al Qaeda and its affiliates, who have no claim to be leaders of any religion -- certainly not a great, world religion like Islam. But those who want to build must not cede ground to terrorists who seek to destroy." The president has twice planned to visit Jakarta, both trips postponed due to pressing domestic issue back home. Additionally the president had to cut this visit short too. "We had a couple of false starts this year, but I was determined to visit a country that has meant so much to me. SDRs are now based on four currencies — the US dollar, the Japanese yen, the euro and the British pound. They are used largely as a unit of account by the IMF and other international organizations. Read between the lines and you get to the bottom of the real reason for the issuance of SDRs — to push for a world currency. Declaring that "Indonesia is a part of me," President Obama today offered personal reflections of the place that "shaped his childhood" and the place that he, as president, hopes will now help shape the Muslim world with their example of democracy, development and pluralism. Drawing up images of his youth spent living in Jakarta -- from "flying kites, running along paddy fields, catching dragonflies and buying satay and baso from street vendors" -- the President stuck a nostalgic tone, remembering the spirit of the people he said helped him learn to love the country. "As a young boy, I was coming to a different world. But the people of Indonesia quickly made me feel at home," Obama said from the University of Indonesia this morning, "The old men and women who welcomed us with smiles; the children who made a foreigner feel like a neighbor; and the teachers who helped me learn about the wider world: The president moved to Jakarta in 1967 then only 6 years-old from Hawaii when his mother married an Indonesian man name Lolo Soetoro. He spent for years in Jakarta living in a small house with a mango tree out front, before ultimately moving back to Hawaii. "So much has changed in the four decades since I boarded a plane to move back to Hawaii. If you asked me -- or any of my schoolmates who knew me back then -- I don't think any of us could have anticipated that I would one day come back to Jakarta as President of the United States." As president, Mr. Obama came today to Indonesia to highlight the country's embrace of democracy and pluralism meant to reach far beyond just the 6,000 who filled the audience today. The White House live-streamed the speech on their website and translated it into languages ranging from Arbaic to Urdu. Embracing those these values, he was saying to other Muslim countries, and you too can prosper "Development is strengthened by an emerging democracy. Ancient traditions endure, even as a rising power is on the move." Gone, he said, are the fields he and friends used to run though with water buffalo and goats. "A new generation of Indonesians is among the most wired in the world -- connected through cell phones and social networks. And while Indonesia as a young nation focused inward, a growing Indonesia now plays a key role in the Asia Pacific and the global economy." Similarly he held Indonesia up as an emerging democracy charting its own course, "from the rule of an iron fist to the rule of the people." That was not to say, the president acknowledged -- perhaps with a nod towards last week's elections in the United States -- that he always likes what democracy delivers. "Of course, democracy is messy. Not everyone likes the results of every election. You go through ups and downs. But the journey is worthwhile, and it goes beyond casting a ballot." Earlier in the day Mr. Obama visited the Istiqlal mosque a house of worship for Muslims that he noted was designed by a Christian architect. His stepfather was "raised a Muslim," yet President Obama said that he believes that all religions were worthy of respect, similar to Indonesia being defined by more than its Muslim population. "Such is Indonesia's spirit," Obama said, "an archipelago that contains some of God's most beautiful creations, islands rising above an ocean named for peace, people choose to worship God as they please. Islam flourishes, but so do other faiths." Echoing themes to the Muslim world in his Cairo address last year, the president said that his priority since becoming president has been the frayed relations between the Muslim community and the United States. "In the 17 months that have passed we have made some progress, but much more work remains to be done. Innocent civilians in America, Indonesia, and across the world are still targeted by violent extremists. I have made it clear that America is not, and never will be, at war with Islam. Instead, all of us must defeat al Qaeda and its affiliates, who have no claim to be leaders of any religion -- certainly not a great, world religion like Islam. But those who want to build must not cede ground to terrorists who seek to destroy." The president has twice planned to visit Jakarta, both trips postponed due to pressing domestic issue back home. Additionally the president had to cut this visit short too. "We had a couple of false starts this year, but I was determined to visit a country that has meant so much to me. Organização tem mais a ver com comportamento do que com técnicas. Técnicas permitem acelerar a geração de resultados, mas estas dependem da ação do homem. O avanço dos softwares e hardwares permite que o homem, que é o elo fraco do processo de organização, seja substituído em muitas tarefas, garantindo dessa forma a execução. Ao clicar Enter ou Avance numa rotina de um programa, a operação será executada, situação que nem sempre ocorre com o homem. Os paraquedas agora têm um sistema de disparo automático para que o desorganizado não tenha que puxar a cordinha. Pelo menos ordem e disciplina, dois dos cinco mencionados, estão garantidos. Sabe por que os consultores prestam um grande trabalho às organizações? Calejados, simplesmente antes de decidir a técnica a ser aplicada, observam o fator mais importante em qualquer processo: As pessoas. As teses sobre liderança enchem páginas, mas estas não garantem o sucesso de um empreendimento. Há momentos para liderar e outros para comandar. Interesses pessoais, políticos e falta de conhecimento podem fazer com que um gestor leve seus liderados a caminhos que não são os desejados. Como trazer as pessoas novamente para o caminho determinado? Com comando! Quando o comandante da tropa grita atacar você acha que todos reagem positivamente por que estão sendo liderados? Pode ter certeza que não. Poucos são liderados, a maioria está sendo comandada. Não fosse assim boa parte da tropa correria em sentido contrário. Não faltam histórias de comandantes que queimaram navios e destruíram pontes, deixando apenas um caminho aos seus soldados: Seguir em frente! Podemos aumentar significativamente o sucesso de um projeto adicionando pessoas que demonstrem: 1)Colaboração; 2)Cooperação; 3)Comprometimento; 4)Atitude; 5)Disciplina; 6)Conhecimento; 7)Comando; 8)Liderança. Sem esses atributos, qualquer projeto, alicerçado em qualquer técnica, terá poucas chances de sucesso. Boas sementes dependem de campos férteis para germinar. The game of snakes & ladders was created by the 13th century poet saint Gyandev. It was originally called 'Mokshapat.' The ladders in the game represented virtues and the snakes indicated vices. The game was played with cowrie shells and dices. Later through time, the game underwent several modifications but the meaning is the same i.e good deeds take us to heaven and evil to a cycle of re-births. The world's highest cricket ground is in Chail, Himachal Pradesh. Built in 1893 after levelling a hilltop, this cricket pitch is 2444 meters above sea level. The art of Navigation & Navigating was born in the river Sindh 6000 over years ago. The very word 'Navigation' is derived from the Sanskrit word NAVGATIH. The word navy is also derived from the Sanskrit word 'Nou'. Bhaskaracharya rightly calculated the time taken by the earth to orbit the sun hundreds of years before the astronomer Smart. His calculations was - Time taken by earth to orbit the sun: ( 5th century ) 365.258756484 days. The value of "pi" was first calculated by the Indian Mathematician Budhayana, and he explained the concept of what is known as the Pythagorean Theorem. He discovered this in the 6th century, which was long before the European mathematicians. Algebra, trigonometry and calculus also orignated from India. Quadratic equations were used by Sridharacharya in the 11th century. The largest numbers the Greeks and the Romans used were 106 whereas Hindus used numbers as big as 1053 ( i.e 10 to the power of 53 ) with specific names as early as 5000 B.C. during the Vedic period. Even today, the largest used number is Tera: 1012( 10 to the power of 12 ). Until 1896, India was the only source for diamonds to the world. ( Source . Gemological Institute of America ) The Baily Bridge is the highest bridge in the world. It is located in the Ladakh valley between the Dras and Suru rivers in the Himalayan mountains. It was built by the Indian Army in August 1982. Sushruta is regarded as the father of surgery. Over 2600 years ago Sushrata & his team conducted complicated surgeries like cataract, artificial limbs, cesareans, fractures, urinary stones and also plastic surgery and brain surgeries. Usage of anesthesia was well known in ancient India medicine. Detailed knowledge of anatomy, embryology, digestion, metabolism, physiology, etiology, genetics and immunity is also found in many ancient Indian texts.
