[View \| Download]	"Donald's Charmed Date" (2001) - A Mickey Mouseworks Cartoon By Elera One out of ten of the Mickey Mouseworks/House of Mouse cartoons that were included in the Walt Disney Treasures box set "The Chronological Donald Duck: Volume Four," basically as filler. These ten Donald Duck cartoons are the only Mouseworks/HOM cartoons released on DVD (other than the two direct-to-video features), so, before ya ask, no, I do NOT have any more. :( It's interesting how most cartoonists and comic writers can't seem to figure out just which of Daisy's personalities she's supposed to have. I know there were plenty of people out there who didn't appreciate how Mickey Mouseworks and House of Mouse portrayed her as a (when she wasn't being temperamental or selfish) total ditz. I'd be lying, though, if I didn't admit that her most blindingly ditzy moments in her more recent appearances had me cracking the hell up. xD Mostly in House of Mouse, and mostly when it was to Donald's chagrin. While I don't think she should be a total blonde ever, I think just a touch of ditz is just fine in Daisy. I don't know, maybe I just look to Minnie to be the sensitive, understanding, thoughtful, giving, straight gal and Daisy to be...well... x) Also, something I really dug about these more modern cartoons were the cameos. [View \| Download]	"Donald's Dinner Date" (1999) - A Mickey Mouseworks Cartoon By Elera One out of ten of the Mickey Mouseworks/House of Mouse cartoons that were included in the Walt Disney Treasures box set "The Chronological Donald Duck: Volume Four," basically as filler. These ten Donald Duck cartoons are the only Mouseworks/HOM cartoons released on DVD (other than the two direct-to-video features), so, before ya ask, no, I do NOT have any more. :( If you've seen "Cured Duck" (1945), you've seen this plot before. This cartoon, compared to others made for Mouseworks, is sloppy, but the fact that Goofy's in it adds a little something extra ("I've got it mesmerized" is easily the best line). Which is something else I'd like to praise about Mickey Mouseworks and House of Mouse - a lot of the humor revolved around the interaction between the core characters, instead of just merely how things tend to go wrong thanks to some outside force. The classic cartoons are absolute genius in their own right, but one does have to admit that even when Mickey, Donald, and Goofy all got together, they often meandered off onto their own path to find that in their corner of the Disney universe, even the simplest tasks can become downright impossible. I really dug how Mouseworks and HOM provided a lot more interaction between the characters, a little depth into their relationships. All goes to show how much cartoon humor and narration has developed over the decades. These ten Donald Duck cartoons are the only Mouseworks/HOM cartoons released on DVD (other than the two direct-to-video features), so, before ya ask, no, I do NOT have any more. :( Classic Donald Duck: how anyone on Earth could have such rotten luck, I have no idea. Perhaps it's karmic retribution (or if you're a Don Rosa fan, it's the Triple Distlefink, heh heh). I dig the sweet ending here, and that silly look at 0:32. x3 Also, animating a Donald Duck temper tantrum has got to be a top-notch honor in this day and age. This time Daisy seems to have no personality at all, haha. These ten Donald Duck cartoons are the only Mouseworks/HOM cartoons released on DVD (other than the two direct-to-video features), so, before ya ask, no, I do NOT have any more. :( I think this is the first Baby Shelby cartoon, and what should've been the last. That annoying turtle got around waaaaaay too much. And I don't think there are many who enjoyed him. I think the one thing that I can say, though, is I always get a kick out of the way his mom is prone to shouting "HEEEEEEY, DUCK!"
