Dolphin Pods and Cephalopods I went to Werribee South this morning and met up with Hermie and his young son Jay. Squid were the target and it didnt take too long to find them. Hermie and Jay are new to kayaks and kayak fishing and had never caught squid before. Thats no longer the case. It was a special day. The weather was perfect. I had nearly bagged out inside the first half hour, and Jay and Dad had scored their first ever squid. One of Jays was a rip snorter. The fishing was interrupted for a while by a visit from a large pod of dolphins with pups in tow. What an incredible experience. Not the first time for me but it was another first for Hermie and Jay. Words cant describe it, so Ill let the pictures tell the story. It was great to be able to share it with you guys. Thanks. GRENADA, Diving in Grenada: Hema (AJ) 90 feet (27m) The coastal freighter Hema 1 was in transit from Grenada to Trinidad in March 2005 when she got into trouble in rough seas, she sank 3 miles off the South coast of Grenada. It now lays in the strong Atlantic current just a few miles off the south coast and is already one of the major dive attractions for Grenada. Today, it is home for the largest collection of nurse sharks, reef sharks, sting rays, turtles, moray eels, lobsters, swarms of barracudas and other pelagic fish. You will also see some fantastic Spotted Eagle Rays hovering over the wreck. Due to its position, this dive is for advanced divers only.
