Despite all the wanted and unwanted attention she receives, she frequently complains about the lack of attention given to black models. "Black models are being sidelined by the major modelling agencies. It is a pity that people don't appreciate black beauty". In her 1994 novel Swan she sardonically writes that the dominant view in Europe is that black girls are better for summer clothes, as if they wear no clothing in winter! Shes militant and she is committed to fighting discrimination against black models. I dont want to quit modelling until I find that black models get equal prominence and recognition by the world media.
