How he speaks and teaches the pratical applications of Buddhism is what really brought me to this profound religion, a "religion" which I had earlier thought of as foreign and supersticious. I soon learned that the complete opposite was true, and to this day these very teachings help me through every aspect of my life... so, I thought I'd share this with everyone here in hopes that you might get something from it as well. :) This particular teaching by Ajahn Brahmavamso is on the subject of 'loneliness'. ЖЕМЧУЖИНЫ МУДРОСТИ By alex250857 Однажды великий философ Шопенгауэр пошел на прогулку в городской сад. Было около трех часов ночи и совсем темно. Он так глубоко погрузился в свои мысли, что не замечал ни позднего времени, ни ночного сторожа. Сторож, взяв палку, решил узнать, почему кто-то ночью бродит в саду, да еще и разговаривает сам с собой, как сумасшедший. Он стукнул палкой о землю и громко прокричал: "Кто ты? Откуда и зачем пришел сюда?" Услышав обращенный к нему вопрос, Шопенгауэр засмеялся и сказал: "Вы задаете мне очень трудный вопрос, мой друг. Всю свою жизнь я задавал его себе: кто я, откуда пришел и почему? И теперь вы тоже спрашиваете это у меня. Неужели вы думаете, что я смогу дать вам ответ?" Мы можем посмеяться над Шопенгауэром, но от этого наше положение не изменится. Природа жизни для нас — закрытая книга. Самое удивительное, что мы являемся чужими для самих себя. Кто я? Если я не знаю этого основного факта, как я смогу узнать все остальные аспекты Истины? Познать самого себя — это первый необходимый шаг по направлению к Истине, без которого дальнейший поиск бесполезен. Люди задают самые различные вопросы: "Существует ли Бог? Является ли освобождение возможным?" и тому подобное. Но никто не спрашивает: "Кто я?" Основной вопрос религии — не существование Бога, а существование себя. Путешествие за Истиной происходит внутри, а не снаружи. Поэтому она не может быть достигнута путем опроса других людей. Ее нельзя познать через другого, она не может быть выучена, изучена, передана. Поиск Истины не для тех, кто верит в спасение и безопасное существование. Этот поиск для бесстрашных душ... для тех, кто не забыл о своих крыльях и бескрайних небесах. Поиск Истины — это не поиск безопасности, это поиск свободы. Но у многих людей свобода вызывает панический страх, в свободе видят опасность. Вы сами выстраиваете себе тюрьму. Кто сказал вам, что вы — индус, мусульманин? Кто просил вас следовать Гитлеру или Марксу? Кто просил вас связывать себя? Никто не просил!!! Вы связали себя собственными руками. Это ваш выбор. И первое, что необходимо — осознать состояние ограниченности. Человек — раб, но чей раб? Человек раб своей глупости, невежества, безразличия и скуки. И самый несчастный раб — это тот, кто даже не знает, что он раб, тот, кто смотрит на свои оковы, как на украшение. Истина познается только теми, кто не подвержен воздействию доктрин, теми, кто жаждет порвать оковы для достижения Истины. Сама Истина говорит: "Оставь все догмы, концепции и просто погрузись в Меня".
