In Cina o in Zambia e in altri paesi in cui la incidenza di fratture ossee era nulla o quasi, le persone avevano un introito di calcio che andava da 250 fino a 400 milligrammi al giorno (Hunt 2007). Le ossa contengono calcio. Che cosa dobbiamo fare per curare le ossa fragili e malate? Ingerire più calcio? Ma il calcio contenuto nel latte di vacca precipita sulle ossa in modo tale da renderne la struttura rigida e particolarmente fragile. Studi lo confermano: il calcio del latte, poiché è relativamente inassorbibile ed in eccesso, va a creare il problema delle calcificazioni inappropriate sui tessuti molli, legamenti, cuore, etc., perché è lì che quel calcio sedimenta, precipita.
