Another Coptic television station, Aghapy TV, was also founded not too long before CTV. Tharwat Bassily, a prominent Coptic business man, was instrumental in establishing the television network. The "C" actually stands for many things: "Coptic", "Christian", "Cross", etc. It was recently founded in November 12, 2007 by the Coptic Orthodox Church of Alexandria. CTV subsequently started broadcasting in North America and abroad. CTV headquarters are located in Cairo, Egypt.
